Andrew Breitbart wants to destroy the leftwing mainstream media. Angry White Dude wants to destroy political correctness. I’ve never been much at pretending or lying and I have too much self-respect to fool myself into thinking something is when it is not or is not when it is. That was one of the reasons this blog was started.

Rassmussen released a poll today titled Voters Are Much Less Optimistic About Black-White Relations. The report states that just 36% of voters now say relations between blacks and whites are getting better, down from 62% last year. Here’s the kicker, thirty-nine percent (39%) of whites think black-white race relations are getting better, but just 13% of blacks agree. While that will surprise a lot of liberals, it really is no surprise at all.

While it will chill the blood of liberals, AWD will break it down for you: Black people hate white people. Certainly, there are some who have broken the hate for whites that nearly every black person learns from an early age. But nearly every black person in America has an ingrained hatred for white people. Black people can be civil towards whites in work and at play but never let yourself believe your black acquaintances don’t really hate your white guts deep down.

How do I know this? Simple! I have made the same comment to black acquaintances of mine and they were honest enough to answer that I was correct. Just yesterday, I had a conversation with two professional black men I like very much and consider to be friends…not extremely close friends…but friends nonetheless. Our conversation began on politics but quickly jumped to race relations in the United States. Both are staunch Democrats and view the tea party movement (which they know I am a part of) as a racist group. Both support Obama and big government even though, as I explained, the government takes money from their pockets as producers and gives it to moochers. I mentioned that I believe white people embrace the dream of a race-neutral society of Martin Luther King more than blacks. Most white people do not understand why in the year 2010 there is a NAACP, BET, Miss Black Universe, etc. I believe most white people try to judge others on their actions. Both black friends believed that another white friend present and I were beneficiaries of white privilege. My friend explained that he was not granted school loans because he was white when he came from a very poor single-parent home. After he graduated, he took a state police exam where the highest 300 scores were accepted. 1100 took the test. My white friend’s score was 179. He was in. Right? Wrong! After the state applied the race curve that improved the scores of lower scoring minorities, my friend’s rank was in the 800s. No job with the state police. What did he do wrong? He was white. I mentioned to my black friends that I cannot do business with local city and counties because they prefer and accept bids from minority contractors, even though they cannot compete on a service or price basis with the company where I am employed. So much for white privilege! My black friends said there were many years where blacks were treated unfairly by Jim Crow laws and it was payback for those times. My white friend asked how long he and his son and future white generations would have to pay for things done before he was born? Very few blacks who suffered under Jim Crow laws are even alive today and certainly the young black thugs who commit such a great number of crimes today was ever a slave or forced to drink out of a separate water fountain.

We then discussed the actions of young blacks today and if black Americans were better off today than they were in the sixties before the Great Society reparations began? I said I believe you cannot give someone something for nothing and expect any good to come from it. Generations of blacks have now been told they are victims, whites are evil and blacks are entitled to free money, housing and everything else when very few blacks alive today have ever faced systematic discrimination. If they have faced discrimination it is because responsible blacks are grouped with the great many blacks in America that cause such tremendous crime and problems. I also added that if I was held responsible for actions I did not commit by members of my race long ago, shouldn’t it be fair for my two black friends to be held responsible for the black thugs and criminals? It’s simple logic but not so easy under the laws of political correctness.

50 years of welfare, social programs and excuses has had a tremendously negative effect on the black race in America. Blacks under perform nearly across the board when compared with other races. Why? Political correctness, liberal politics, ignorance and hate. It is easier for blacks, as a whole, to blame their station in society on white people for slavery than it is to blame themselves for making bad life decisions. Most people who are not black are taught actions have consequences. Young blacks are taught they can do or say whatever and they will be excused. This is why we are seeing a growing number of brazen attacks by groups of young blacks on whites these days. These young black thugs believe there will be no consequences. But there are consequences, even in the ridiculous world of political correctness. That is why such a large percentage of prisoners are black. Political correctness tells us it’s because of racist judges, police and laws…but the realistic know it is simply because so many blacks commit crimes.

Look at how so many young blacks look and act today. Wearing pants below their asses, tattoos, speaking filthy language or ebonics, loud, immoral, violent, sullen…..it that what Martin Luther King dreamed?

So it’s no surprise for me to read of Obama saying the police in Boston “acted stupidly” when they did not in arresting a belligerent, trash-talking black Harvard professor, or Eric Holder for not prosecuting hate crimes or discrimination when blacks are the perpetrators. A quick glance on Drudge Report today tells of a black judge who rejected a plea agreement for a white youth because it, in his words, “a ridiculous plea that only goes to white boys.” And you better believe a black community organizer who studied at the feet of the racist Reverend Wright for twenty years hates whitey too. It’s what blacks are taught. It is the elephant in the room that nobody wants to acknowledge. Certainly not PC liberals!

I don’t know if blacks can ever escape the ghetto mentality of white hatred that is so ingrained in their community. But I know this….blacks are the only ones who can help blacks. I am not responsible for slavery any more than my honorable black friends are responsible for Beat Whitey Night at the Iowa state fair. I cannot save blacks nor can my tax dollars. Hatred, violence, ignorance and laziness is the hallmark of the American black race in general. Many have escaped the chains of ghetto culture to enjoy the benefits of hard work, sacrifice, achievement and wealth. But far too many are chained to poverty and ignorance by the slave master….and they don’t even realize the slave master is black!

I’m glad so many white people are starting to let their voices be heard concerning racial issues. Political correctness has for too long forced us to sit back like whipped dogs and not comment or complain about what we see going on around us lest we be racist. Why must we walk on eggshells to not offend the perpetually offended when their actions are offensive!?! Nuts to that! Say it loud, I’m not politically correct and proud!

Here is the problem (as I see it)….while there are claims of racism all through these posts, there is in fact much truth also. Because you are a racist does not mean you are wrong. It doesn’t mean you are right either. At it’s basic level, people like to be with people like themselves. There is comfort there. This also means there will always be a bit of racism present. What we do with the racism is what matters.
In my experience (54 years old), I have witnessed very little racism towards blacks (I live in the west). For the sake of relevancy, I am referring to the past quarter century. On the contrary, I have witnessed many racist events/comments from blacks toward whites–from all spectrum’s of black culture. This is not an official survey, but my experience has caused me to believe that there is in fact much more hatred of whites by blacks than there is the reverse.
The many black arguments on this post are valid, and so are the many white arguments. Impasse occurs when one side refuses to acknowledge the truths on the other side.
What are blacks still fighting for exactly? What “struggle” are they pursuing? How will we know when it is achieved? Many whites believe that the special scholarships, quotas, contractual set-asides for the past 50 years has been sufficient. That the only thing holding blacks down is in fact a fractured black culture without morals or structure to be successful in a modern western society.
Listening to black supremacists (notably some popular Reverends), it seems to me that the goal of blacks is not to integrate into our multicultural society, but to segregate, pitting blacks against whites in order to grow power and wealth. How can this possibly be productive for a multicultural society? This is not what white children are raised to believe. They are raised to believe we are all equal and Americans. Of course, there the ignorant exceptions, but they are not the general rule.
How to fix the problem? I am not an expert, but my guess is that the first correct step would be to emphasize the things that are similar and remove the things that are different. We are Americans. My experience in the military showed me that this is a good start. We were all Marines first. While there were racial problems from time to time, they were very few, and most were fairly nonviolent. We don’t need white or black organizations or holidays…they are divisive…be honest with yourself. It seems to me that any efforts toward unity are undermined by these PC attempts to highlight a particular culture in our multicultural society. But alas, we will not see a change like this, for their is much power and wealth in racial politics.
Blacks need to acknowledge that their culture contributes to high incidence of unwed mothers, low education, violence etc…Whites need to accept that the Civil War, Jim Crow etc. had a very negative and real impact on blacks. While the civil rights field may have been leveled, it may take a few more generations for blacks to overcome past injury and excel. But it won’t happen with the hateful black theology imbedded in the culture. There must be change in the victim mindset, and whites must be patient.
In the end, white America doesn’t “owe” black Americans anything. This view is where the hate begins. Current white Americans are not responsible for slavery or Jim Crow…no more than blacks are. A substantial majority of whites favor multiculturalism, but not if it comes with a “payback” mentality from minority groups.
People have always been used by those that seek power, wealth and fame. If unity is your goal, then reject the racial politics and the people that use it as a means of employment.
Look, ours is a meirtocracy society. If you look for a handout, you are out of step, and can expect derision. If you work hard and educate yourself, you can expect success. I don’t know anyone who works hard and is educated that does not also have a job.
Life is full of negatives for all people. It’s cowardly and wrong to blame another race for your own failures. It is too convenient to use a victim mentality to blame all that does not go right in your life. If you’re looking for weeds (racism) you will find them…if your looking for flowers (success) you will find them also. When I see the hate in these comments, I know it comes from frustration…I also know these are the people looking for weeds…get out of that rut, take care of your education and your family, and take the hits life will throw your way, but keep moving forward. I am not black or white, I am an American who is interested in what is best for our society as a whole, not just one racial or ethnic group.
Our leaders will not step-up on racial issues because they will loose politically. We must start on the individual level. When you meet someone of another race on the street, smile, say hello, open a door…be polite and see if that doesn’t improve matters. One thing I learned in the Marine Corps that has sustained me…never make excuses for failure, and never fail. Regrettably, I do not believe we will ever be successful in eliminating racism–it would involve taking individual responsibility and giving-up wealth and power. In my lifetime, the only thing that has united us is war, and then only for a short time….so, without war we have racial violence and hatred among the races in America; with war we have temporary unity, but violence abroad…Is there a way to have peace and no violence?…I don’t think so.

  AMEN!! Preach it! Spot on with almost everything you just said! You are saying exactly what I have been trying to say but you have said it in such a more profound and enlightening way… my rage ( taking it personal ) about this crap handicaps my ability to convey what I am thinking.. Im so sick of the blame.. it enrages me and makes me feel hate for those that do the blaming. I know I should not let it get to that point but I dont like being used as a scapegoat because of the lack of personal responsibility of some black folks and it frustrates me to no end to watch them live below thier potential because they have been conditioned to be nothing but perpetual victims… Im so tired of it. As an American, proud third generation veteran and as a fellow man. Please allow me to present this to you. Please read the book “The New Jim Crow” by Prof. Michelle Alexander. No racial innuendo just hard fact and timeline. What I hope that you will see is a big picture view of what has happened in black America over the past century.The book will help to put in historical context what amounts to a sustained militarized engagement that has swollen into a mass almost beyond grasp. boy, you eat what you kill where I come from. I have been poor my entire life and have never taken welfare or even unemployment. I make do. But the fact is, the majority of welfare louts aren’t and have never been minorities. The whole “welfare mother” myth was dead wrong, 72 percent of welfare recipients were white. Half that middle class. But consider that was when there was no google. We could forgive people for not knowing that they were fed fear by politicians to condone war here and abroad. But today, we incarcerate blacks and latino’s unevenly. Doing seventy percent more time for the same crimes. We know that 60 percent of the drug dealers worth busting age 20 and up are white, 98 percent of those incarcerated are not. And thats the justice dept’s own stat. Blacks are and have been being attacked. Just the facts. You remember when cops lived in your neighb and dressed like military officers? Why do they now where bdu’s?
After the fact there are still people who don’t know that 2500 black men are found to be not guilty yearly, on criminally errant police work and crooked judges.But seldom is the law man brought to the law. Ike warned us about the military industrial complex. Where do you think your tax money is going when they scare into passivity? And when they can no longer be satisfied with the usual scapegoat they come for everyone else. What you leave to your neighbor next knocks on your door. But more important, as Americans when has it ever served us to be divisive on race. Not to mention race doesn’t scientifically exist. We are all men, flawed and equal-f*** race. You have a right to be mad, good, we need mad American’s right now. But brother, get the facts, know the past so we all can know that is indeed behind us. And know that when we are all fully aware and angry, together, we can get back to being kick ass America. And none of us need be angry at that. I am black, and I do get angry sometimes, only because more of you aren’t there yet. Thank you for speaking up. Ooooraaahh!

- Well said…your numbers are likely fuzzy though. I prosecuted cases for 20 years and can tell you that I never ever witnessed the police corruption that you refer to. I can tell you that without a doubt, violent crimes were largely perpetrated by a person from a minority background. In hundreds of cases, it was my decision whether the case went to trial. At no time did I let a white person go when I had the evidence to prosecute. I did not see any racism in the justice system at all. Now, of note, my experience was in military courts. Some interesting info about what we learned after prosecuting so many cases. If it was a rape case, the perp was largely a minority. If it were a meth case, the perp was white. If it were a marijuana case, the perp was black. Also, white defendants sang like birds during interviews, while black defendants would rarely talk…but not a single event of racism, none. Sometimes, I think the numbers cited by persons like you likely come from courts in the Southeaset. My guess is that there is not much of that in the western or northern US. My point is that it is necessary, when citing stats, to also cite where there are higher incidence of abuse–to avoid painting all whites or all justice systems with the same brush. This is necessary for credibility of the argument, but also to allow the proper assets to be focused on the location where the problem lies. Great comments though. I particularly found your reasoning, absent emotion, to be worthy of reading. Far too often, when reading on this topic, arguments are weakened by the obvious emotional bias of the author…

Well, AWD you are 100% correct, White people are being made to feel like they are bad people for the terrible things they did to the poor black people in the past, but if you look at the past, thoes black people were and still are savages!, prove me wrong!, every prison in the world is filled with blacks, the drugs and prostitution rings are run by blacks, and so are the corrupt churches!, where I live they illegaly enter the country and have their baby!, then they live off the goverment and refuse to work! all is fine untill their homeland– that has chased away all the white people– is starving, and then thoes white countries have to supply thoes poor starving african people with food again!, well I say let the buggers starve!. Who faces greater racial discrimination and hatred in America? whites or blacks. What racial group is the most oppressed in America? What racial group experiences the highest degree of police brutality and murder?

Blacks do not go about preaching racism and racial superiority they are and have a right to be angry about hundreds of years of racism, slavery and present discrimination. the majority of racist in America and the world are whites. Adolf Hitler the biggest racist of all time is white. the biggest racist organizations in the world are white. the truth is that white people lack basic empathy and human emotion to even understand that they have not only wronged blacks but most of the world. the greatest genocide in the world is not the holocaust but the systematic eradication of native Americans. the devil can take tips from the white man on how to destroy other people.

- Stones. Stones. I once went to a black owned carryout to buy some wine. I sat in the car while my two buddies went into the store. My car was pelted with stones. Stones thrown by blacks. My son’s first encounter with blacks involved stones thrown at him, blacks throwing stones, yelling, “Give us the bike.” He was only eight years old. My daughter was sucker punched by a black while in high school simply because she refused his sexual advances. When my wife was a teenager, she was confronted on the restroom by a group of black girls who tore a pierced earring from her ear for no reason, other than she was white.

American Blacks are the most coddled people on the planet. They get preferences in jobs, university admissions, government aid etc. Look at the billions White America has spent for welfare, housing and food stamps for all these single parent Blacks and their mulitple out-of-wedlock kids.
Slavery and Jim Crow were from a different era and have nothing to do with Blacks today, so to say Blacks today are negatively affected by it is nonsense. The truth is today’s American Blacks have benefitted enormously from slavery, if not for past slavery, they’d be back in Africa far worse off, as opposed to living in America where Whites dote on them and cater to them because their ancestors were slaves.
African-Americans use various themes such as slavery, Jim Crow, non-existant racism to keep Whites on an eternal guilt trip in order to continue being the most favored people on the planet. African-Americans and Blacks in general ought to give thanks to Whites for everything we’ve done for them. Everytime there is a famine, guess who is there, it is always North American Whites, European Whites etc.
I’m sick of giving and giving to Blacks and constantly being told I’m racist. Black’s problems are soley their own fault caused by their bad or irresponsible behavior. As far as Blacks are concerned, EFF them!!!!

- This website is so sad and divisive. As an African-American that grew up in the 60′s and personally witnessed and experienced racism I object to all the racial sterotyping on here. Since Obama became president there has been such an increase in arrogance and down-right hatred and bigotry that has rared it’s ugly head in this country. African-Americans are still hated by the color of their skin and not judged by their character. My father worked 2 jobs to raise our family as did most of the African Americans in the city grew up in. Believe me there are more Anglos getting welfare and foodstamps than African-Americans. Just pray the rug is not pulled out from under you!

    - Blacks ALSO account for more than 60% of all violent crime in the U.S. according to the FBI crime statistics. Blacks account for (if we can believe the same old figures for the last 30 years) 12% of the U.S. population and probably less than a tiny percentage of that black population is responsible for all the crime and BLACKS KNOW IT! They seem to think it’s cool and blacks I have met over here in Afghanistan seem to take pride in their home (Detroit) often winning the title “Murder/rape capital of the U.S.” Now why would they feel that way I wonder.

  You currently live in a country that was once owned by Native Americans and that once supported slavery. You now pay taxes to the very government that condoned this. In doing so you, like Whites and Blacks alike, now benefit from that which was created out of the misery of others.
  
  If you truly feel sorry for Blacks and for Native Americans you would sooner move back to Asia than pay taxes to a government that usurped power from the original owners of the land (Native Americans), and that once supported the slavery of Blacks. If you stay then you are choosing to support a racist regime, and like the Whites, Blacks, Hispanics, and your fellow Asians who continue to stay, benefit from that which was created out of the misery of others.
  
  If Whites, Hispanics, Blacks, and Asians truly want good for the Native American people they would leave the Americas so that the Natives could return to a way of living prior to that of the occupation of their land. If Whites, Blacks, Asians, and Hispanics cared for Blacks they would no longer live in or pay taxes to governments of the Americas. They would return to their homelands, and see to it that the Blacks could return to their homelands so they could once again live among their own kind and participate in the traditions of their own people.
  
  The fact is that you probably really don’t care for Blacks or for Native Americans. You love living here and you want to justify your continued immigration to and occupation of this land by pointing out that which Whites did in the past. You seem to forget that the only reason you are here is because White people allowed you to immigrate, Natives did not. Blacks are here because White people brought them here, and not the natives of this land. Hispanics are here because, again, Whites allow them to immigrate. Like Whites, Blacks, and Hispanics, you Asians are also not native to this land. You are all now a co-squatters of your own choice, and are all co-occupiers of the Americas, out of your own free will. And out of your own free will you continue to benefit for that which the White man created.
  
  You say you hate Whites, and that many minorities do, yet of your own choice many of you seem to gravitate to the lands that they originate from or that they currently run.     - Indians shouldn’t have casinos, as it is not their traditional way of life. They hate White people and everything about White society. Despite being Natives, they’re currently living a lifestyle created by their European occupiers. If all occupiers were to leave the Americas, but not before Whites first dismantled their European style civilization, the Natives could then be left to live the lives they once did prior to occupation. They could once again roam the plains freely on foot (Horses were brought by Europeans, and all of them will be returned to their natural habitat in Eurasia), live in teepees, wigwams, longhouses, etc. There would be no roads, no electricity, no running water, no cities, automobiles, trains, planes, parliament buildings, grocery stores, and so on and so forth, to dot and destroy the landscape.
      
      Most Natives are miserable with their living conditions, and have been so for the past 500 years. Returning them to their traditional way of living will make them much happier. Europeans are the only ones that enjoy living with all of the amenities mentioned above, which is why the civlizations they create contain them.         Years ago, Paul Harvey said on one of his shows that while visiting an Indian reservation in, I think, Michigan that a sign on the register said “in the past, men hunted and fished and women did all the work and the White man thought he could improve on that” Sort of stuck with me all these years. Also, in the same area, one Indian tribe has been using income from their casino to buy back the adjacent territory/property taken from them by the gubmint, sort of IRONIC ya think!   - If Black and Arab Americans move to Africa, then they’d be supporting governments that are corrupt and only care about American interests. So either way they’re doomed. A lot of Asian governments support American interest as well. Until the US and the few European countries stop bulling and exploiting(China exploits too, but unlike white countries, they invest instead of taking foreign resources by force) the world, then We can all go back to the countries of our ancestors. S.-These comments about American Indians “owning” North America are false. When Whites first came to what is now the USA, Indians only occupied about 1 percent of the land. The rest was not owned or occupied by anyone so to say that Whites “stole” all of the land is nonsense. Yes, Whites treated the Indians poorly in the past and the Indians are absolutely entitled to the percentage of the land they occupied as well as having seperate Indian nations within the USA. We already have this, if we haven’t returned the correct amount of land, we need to. However, the other 99% of the land rightfully belongs to Whites as it was settled by Whites.

This article it totally off base. It begins on a poor foundation and finishes with a crooked roof. Black people have not been suffering for the past 50 years all across the board because of welfare and social correctness. I think it goes back a little further, like maybe 400 years of American slavery. Black people have only been given the right (on paper at least) to even receive the type of lives that white people are born into.

It is so easy for the white people of this country to claim that black people hate them and not take a look at themselves. If I punch you every day for years on end and then finally one day I say “let’s be friends be friends because punching is wrong.” what do you expect. A super hug and a smile from ear to ear. “Oh thank you sir for finally realizing that punching is wrong. Now everything will be better.”

The black people of today don’t have to have experienced the atrocities and injustices suffered by their earlier generations, because we have our own. It is very sad that your friend didn’t get the police job he wanted because he was white, yet my sympathy stops there when I think of all the black people in the history of this country who would have made amazing police officers yet were not even allowed to attempt to do so.

You say nobody should expect something for nothing, but that is exactly what white people in general have done. You enslave a race of people. Take them away from everything they know. Push them down to the bottom of society, and then expect them to flourish the same way that you have. Not to mention, whenever we do begin flourishing, we are pushed back down.

I don’t believe all of us black people hate white people, but white people sure as hell make it hard for us not to. Instead of assuming we all hate you, why not try looking at yourself and being honest about you and your race’s fault in the ordeal, because sadly black people are not the only group to have suffered by the hands of the white race (been a very long time since I saw a Native American…)

Ask a black how long America had slaves, you will most likely hear 400 years, then point out that America is only 200 years old and watch the excuses fly.

We declared our independence in 1776, we did not become independent until 1789. During the time from 1789 until 1865 we fought several wars just to keep ourselves a sovereign nation. Now by 1865 the vast majority of states had already made slavery illegal, except for the Southern states. Around 20% of the population owned slaves prior to the days before the civil war. Now I will not pretend I know the population of those states at the time, but I do know that almost 500,000 of those southerners lost their lives during the civil war.

Now let us do a little math. Factor in people who came to the USA after the civil war, the people who died during the civil war and the 80% of southerners why could not afford a slave even if they wanted one. I put to you this question, What are the odds that you will ever meet a white person who is directly descended from a former slave owner?? Or better yet… What has a higher chance of probability, The white guy you met is a direct descendant of a soldier who fought for the freedom of blacks or the white guy you met has slave owner blood in him??
From the 1st day our country became its own nation, to the day that the very last state gave up slavery was the span of 1 lifetime, a child born a slave in The United States of America more than likely died a free man. To hear people berate America for its past is misleading and insulting. We changed the world and have suffered for it ever since.
Sadly Lincoln was killed before he could finish what he started, he firmly believed blacks should never have been imported here and had a plan to send them either back to Africa, or to set up their own nation in South America…..which ever they preferred.

Let me just add one thing. Growing up in the city of Detroit I have been called White Ass Honkey more times than I can count. NEVER had I looked at a black person and called them the equivalent.
Blacks have been duped by the same people who held them as slaves, Democrats. They still own you, and just like the old days when there were free blacks who owned slaves, they just became democrats as well.
Instead of telling your former slave masters to go kiss your ass and that you are fully capable of fending for yourselves, you just became a new kind of slave to a new kind of master

The people who where here did change The name of the stolen land mass they were living on (from the standpoint only of white people) The United States of America.   The blacks who lived in that era were not only oppressed by white slave owners. The way it seems from reading your response is that blacks were just here because we bought the tickets to come. If this is how you are viewed, then this is how you are treated.

  That was way before 1776 my friend. The first boat that white people landed here on had slaves riding along. The answer would be 200 years if you decide that this country was something completely different from what it was before 1776. The first 20 slaves were brought over in 1619. Slavery continued until 1865. It only lasted 246 years. Blacks have now been free for 147 years. 246 years is a far cry from the 800 years of slavery Whites suffered at the hands of Blacks.
  
  As far as your not wanting to be here is concerned, after slavery was ended the intention was to return all Blacks to their native habitat in Africa. It was your Black ancestors that used the American court system to ensure that they could stay. Today Black people could be living much better lives if this had not been done.
  
  And yes, Whites are the most racist people on the earth. It’s a wonder that people keep moving to lands they dominate, and/or continuing to live alongside them, and then complaining that they’re acting the very way they’re famous the world over for being – racist.     The slaves captured and traded by the Islamic Moors were generally Christians and Africans. Basically both christian whites and blacks were being made slaves of by the Arab rulers.
    To just send blacks back to Africa after the abolition of slavery would have been inhumane. A population of people already having been dislocated and allowed to assimilate on a level of survival, now being dislocated once again from the only home some have ever had for a second time within a span of a few centuries?
    Anyone who tries not to live along side whites is deemed a separatist and is soon attacked. Countries that don’t trade with white countries are thus invaded and taken over. Casualties are usually in the hundreds of thousands…

        The challenge in debating with you is that you keep making it personal. My use of the word ‘you’ in our discussion thus far was not specifically directed at you personally, but at white people generally in a discussion about the issues between whites and blacks.
        
        As interesting as your personal story is, and it is interesting, it is just one anecdote. I choose not to share such a level of detail about my personal life. I think that we both agree that work is an essential part of living You don’t work, you don’t eat. I live and abide by that principle personally. I like the freedom to work my money and then go where I want, buy what I want, etc. So I do not support the welfare/projects mentality, where they are dependent on someone else – even to buy a pair of socks.
        
        I don’t call myself an African American. I am an American. This is my homeland and where my children were born. So again, not sure why you or anyone wants Americans to leave. However, if you feel America belongs only to white people and Africa belongs to black people, I’m suggesting that we should look into that – under certain conditions.
        
        As to Africa, all of why you may say is true – the land was not developed by the Africans. They didn’t feel they needed to do so. There’s a whole sociological discussion about that. Anglos exploit resources, other cultures don’t. It’s whatever.
        
        The point however is that the land still belonged to the African people. So if foreign investors feel they can make better use of the land, then they should pay for the use of the land. The miners and oil drillers can absolutely exploit the land but the land ultimately belonged to the people who lived there first. And that for sure was not the white people. The Africans should get royalties for every drop of oil or every precious mineral that is extracted from the ground. Just like if someone told you there was oil in your backyard, you would want the experts in oil drilling to come in and get it, right? No good sitting in the ground. But you would either expect them to pay you for the use of the land or to buy the land from you, right? You wouldn’t expect them to just move their stuff in, start drilling, get the product, sell it overseas and not give you a dime?
        
        Africans did supply other Africans for the slave trade to the US and Europe. Slaves were a part of African society as the tribes fought each other for land and the winner took the spoils and took slaves as well. Those slaves were eventually freed and allowed to assimilate into their new home, marry in their new tribe and ultimately become indistinguishable from any other member of the tribe.
        
        I’m not sure that is exactly what happened with the white slave traders. And I’m not sure it is relevant They took the slaves, built up America using their labor, freed the slaves and then did not want to give the slaves citizenship This is where the victimhood as you put it comes in. The descendants of the slaves want to be treated as full and equal citizens. Most of us don’t want reparations – but we don’t want to be told to leave either. We feel we contributed to the growth of this country and should be allowed to reap the benefits of being called Americans. Unfortunately or fortunately, we’re human beings and we’re not disposable. You brought us here, we worked, under terrible conditions, and we were freed. We live here now. Many of us contribute to the GDP. So can you stop hating on us?

        Dad is retired, living well, after worked for 50 years in the same industry. Just brought a 5 BR house, is an elder in the church, opened up the pool yesterday as a matter of fact. He has aches and pains that didn’t show up before, but otherwise, thankful for the family God has given him and a country where he had an opportunity to build a life.

At the end of the day people thrive off of conflict. Call it human nature or survival of the fittest, it doesnt matter. I am am white man and grew up in a very tough neighbourhood in glasgow, scotland and if theres one thing i learned through years of savage violence i have witnessed, people always need a victim to justify themselves. Be it their religion (which could get you killed up here) or race, colour, creed whatever. Our dna dictates to us to look for group acceptance and alienate those who are different. Being black or white the difference obvious and hard to ignore.     - As a white person, have you ever rationally considered what might cause black people to kill each other? Personally, my first conclusion would be that maybe not ALL black people walk around and kill each other. Something odd to consider for a moment would be the reasoning behind blacks killing blacks being called black on black violence. When a white person kills another it is simply called murder and a statistic isn’t generally kept. White people kill each other just as much as any other race, people of all races have this issue. Blacks and other minorities however, are systematically killed.

        I am not sure if you realized that the specific post you commented on was simply a reply to another post. I am in no way claiming that black on black crime is not an epidemic in our communities. I am simply reminding those who cling to the fact that blacks kill each other should not fail to look at it from the perspective of humans and not simply that of what white people see.
        I will not downplay the stupid violence that goes on in our own community yet at the same time you must not forget where this type of behavior came from and how it is being perpetuated. If black people are stuck in the past at all, part of that can and should be attributed to blacks themselves. That goes without saying. What must be understood is that the majority of fault lies on whites. Yea slavery ended, but black oppression and inequality did not. Do you really think that just telling all the black people that they were free to no longer be slaves would just fix all the atrocities done by whites to our race?
        I will however admit that that which has been done to us and still is will pale in comparison to the atrocities committed against the Native American people. White people have a tendency to tell people to not get stuck in the past, yet they fail to point out that the past is filled with your violence. White people have mass murdered or enslaved every other race on this planet including their own. They have stolen land and enforced their law upon everyone. Now that your work is done, everyone should forget what has happened? Stop sitting around in the past? From the perspective of a white male, I guess that would be a good idea huh…

I’ll just add that unlike other groups that came to America (usually of free will) and went through hard times (the Irish, the Chinese, etc.), black people still face inordinate discrimination, solely on the basis of our physical differences – skin, hair, bone structure. So for us, it is difficult to let go of the past, because it is still in many ways our present. Irish, Italian, Jewish, even Hispanic and to some degree Asian – they’re essentially indistinguishable at least physically from any WASP. But blacks are as different as night and day (metaphor not intended).
        
        I can talk on the phone with white people for years and everything is alright. And the minute I show up in person, you see the aha moment, then usually some patronizing remark, like, wow you really speak well, and then the walls go up. And I’m actually a lighter-skinned black. Obama is half white and folks still can’t get over his black side. The guy eats arugula (I still don’t know what that is) and folks draw pics of him chomping down on watermelon and drinking 40s.
        
        But yeah, you’ve captured the essence of the whole problem. Tell them they are free but don’t really know what to do with them. If you try to help them, give them a leg up, then it’s evil affirmative action and reverse racism. Stick them in a pen (projects), and throw them a few pennies a month, and complain about how useless and degenerate they are. I don’t have the solution and yes I believe blacks have to fight their circumstance to overcome. Go to school. Stay in School. Take pride in getting the best grade possible in school. Prove to yourself and others that you’re not some brainless baboon. Take the low paying job, show up on time, do an honest day work for an honest day pay and work your way up. Avoid jail. Get married. Get involved in something positive (church, the arts, community development). Keep your place and your body clean. Have goals for your kids. Eat healthy.
        
        But whites also have to take responsibility for their past and present role and at a minimum, be patient. It’s only been 50 years since blacks had any freedom at all. It doesn’t happen over night. Insist on law and order – but stop telling us we’ll never be anything, because a lot of us are working at improving every day.

Hello my fellow Americans,
I am a 25 year old black female. With a BA in design, and no children. So to say the least I am what some of you might call an “exception”, but I know many women just like me. This artical is by far one of the most ignorant things I have ever read. What is so surprising to me is that my generation is suppose to be SO “spoiled, and oblivous” to what goes on in todays society when you older people have proven the complete opposite. I thought with age comes experience and with experience comes knowledge… hum guess not. Well I never experienced slavery nor did I deal with any jim crowe laws(thanks to my anhsesters), but what I do know is that you can not tell people how they should fell thats why they are called feelings, they are strictly emotional. Thats like trying to tell a 911 victim or there offspring how they should or shouldn’t feel. And for the black people hating white people and vice a versa, we should be disscussing how to better one another, but i guess that would be to much positive progress. I am well aware of the systematic segragation of this and many other nations, but you all who point fingers and blame are as much to blame as anyone else. Open any history book, or google something other than why black or white people are so bad, and your find no matter how different you think we all are we ALL derived from Africa, and thats not to say Africans are better because technially we are all African. Find out about your history wheater its european, asain, hispanic, indian, or black if you trace it back far enough, you will find that no matter if you migrated from Africa or were forced out we are all ONE. once you realize that you can bring down the ones who are truly oppressing us and that is us. This is a world of the have and the have nots. Why do you think racism even started? to ultimaly gain total control of one another. People in power relized a long time ago that the people can never overcome what they dont know. Together we stand and devivded we continue to fall. Not all black people hate white people just like not all white people hate black people. Stop using excuse and reasons of why one should or should’t hate the other. Hate is Hate and can never be justified Love grows beyound skin color and silly apperances that fade when we die…. because our body go to dust and we back into the earth NO skin color money or education can change that. I know that I am asking to much of you old timers but at least be honest with yourself enogh to know that you point out each others problems to make you feel better about yours, but that does not wipe them away nor does that make anything better. If you truly want to change how things are start with yourself. This articale should be pulled down just for the incorrect sterotypes and underline racism…. the internet was invented to expand our minds and you older generation have found yet another way to keep our mind stuck in the past.

        a) In order for you not to see the NAACP and CBC (Congressional Black Caucus) as hate groups, you’d have to first accept that historically, blacks were prejudiced against. We couldn’t live where we wanted. We couldn’t get hired, etc. So, these groups were formed to advocate for black people who weren’t getting any help. Again, you’d have to accept that blacks were discriminated against. If you don’t accept it – if you think it has been equal opportunity for blacks since the day they were set free, then it’s a moot point.
        
        b) As many have already said, these entitlements you speak of – I think they are available to the entire American populace. And there are millions of whites and other races who receive these entitlements. I have never asked or received them, so I am not familiar with them. But, I wouldn’t call these entitlements reparations since everyone, white, black, yellow, purple can get them. It is not just for black people.
        
        c) I won’t touch the over-representation on TV thing. Too bad we can’t go back to the old days when blacks weren’t allowed on TV. A lily white world – I hear ya. And as far as the N word, clearly you know that the N word is a pejorative term with (here we go with that word again) historical implications. The N word was used to dehumanize blacks – we weren’t human, we’re something less than human. But it’s whatever. I don’t even know what to say to either of those 2 comments.
        
        What do I want? I’d like for everyone to have empathy. Meaning, I stayed on this board chatting it up with you guys so I could understand why you feel the way you do and hopefully you could understand why I see things the way I do. Cause we all come to life with different perspective, depending on which side of the fence you’re on. I’ve learned a lot – especially from you Rock. I heard loud and clear that you don’t want to be blamed for stuff you had nothing to do with. I heard that you want black people to stop complaining and get going for themselves. To stop asking for a handout.
        
        Guess what – I agree with you. I’m a 2nd generation immigrant, so perhaps that has something to do with it. But probably the most important thing my dad ever told me was this. We’re all created equal. After that you’re on your own. So with respect to your strategy for life, we are in total agreement.
        
        The only thing we disagree about is that I believe life is harder for black people. I think there are lots of reasons why blacks feel like giving up and it takes a really strong minded black person to push on in the face of the stuff thrown at them. Like when you go to school, work hard, get a decent position, and then people tell you that you only got it because of affirmative action. That you don’t deserve anything nice. That you don’t have the right to live in a nice neighborhood. Rock, everyone wants to live somewhere nice. No one wants to live in the ghetto. That’s all. If we’re good neighbors, don’t have parties, keep our lawn neat, why do you have to move out.
        
        But whatever, it’s just whatever.

Because they have been “bamboozled” by bigoted white liberals who buy thier loyalty with entitlements ( thier 30 pieces of silver ) so thier votes can be harvested at election time.         FYI… I do think that lfe is harder for SOME blacks… for those who are trying to assimilate and are being attacked for it in thier own communities.. you know.. uncle toms. I have a perfect example of that in my own life. My daughter has a friend from school that frequently sleeps over and they study together. This young lady is in advance placement classes with my daughter and she is black.. She spends more time at our house than her own because even her own older sister has assaulted her on more than one occasion and verbally berates her with “oreo” and “acting white” because she cares about her grades and has white friends ( well my daughter is 1/2 Mexican but I guess that is white now according to the MSM LOL ) SO….. should I live up to YOUR expectations of me and turn her away next time she comes to our door? Nope.. she is a good kid and trying despite those in her communnity and her own house trying to hold her back. So dont tell me that much of black folks problems are not SELF inflicted.. What the hell is “acting white” anyway?

Do you also believe that all the years of free labor from slaves didn’t give this country an economic boost outside of the attainability of a developing nation that doesn’t use such methods?         Also, you mention the “Native Americans”. It is now known that BEFORE the asians that crossed into North America via the Siberian land bridge, there was an ancient Clovis culture people living here. Anthropoligists believe that they must have been subjected to conflict and eventual absorbtion by the invading Asians/Indians. Clovis people originated in Europe, they were white and they were here first! Are the current so-called “Native Americans” still responsible for conquering and absorbing them, effectively destroying that culture in North America?

        Anything I’ve spoken about wrt to land has to do with folks coming in, taking the land from people who were occupying the land. If you want to say it is conquest, then that’s a fair argument and one I’ve been thinking about. If the people who were occupying the land didn’t organize enough to fight off the people invading, then I guess it’s all fair game.

What do you think about the fact that slavery was an African custom? Africans captured and sold/traded all of the African slaves to the slavers who then transported and sold them into the slave markets of the world. That is an indisputable historical fact, but we never hear much about it do we? I wonder why?

        No one has disputed that. But as was the custom in Africa, when a slave was captured, eventually he was freed and he assimilated into the society. After time, he and his children were indistinguishable from the others in the tribe.
        
        The difference here is children of slaves are not considered part of the American tribe. But you made good points.

        Maybe some of them were, and the women were usually the survivors because they were kept for the pleasure of the warrioes and repeatedly raped, or forced into marriage and assimilated. Many of the males were enslaved until death, unless they escaped or won their freedom in certain types of ritual combat. Also, and this is grisly, some were even used for food, especially in hard drought times when animal game was scarce. Like it or not, it is the truth.
        But my reasons for making this point to you is that you seem to think that that current American blacks are owed something by white Americans. If that is so, then why don’t their cousins in Africa owe them just as much or even more for being the ones that sold their ancestors into the condition in the first place?

        Yea, didn’t know all of that. I guess that could have happened in some cases. My knowledge was based on a pretty famous book called Things fall apart by this African writer. He seemed to suggest the slaves, in this case he was talking about males, were cared for and eventually freed and assimilated. I’m not going to dispute what you say since I wasn’t there. All blacks don’t think whites owe them anything other than not being denied opportunity.

  - Yeah, I do remember. Yuck! But let’s face it, white males have been relegated to be the brunt of all things degrading in commercial t.v. for quite awhile now. The fat slobe is always a white male, the dumb ass is always a white male, the whimpering wiener is always a white male, and on and on.
    Also, have you noticed just how over-represented minorities and blacks in particular have become in commercials. I mean they make up about 15% of the population at best and they are on nearly EVERY commercial. One would think that they make up the entire economy the way these comapnies pander to them in their advertising. Regarding ga steve and kewlgirl’s conversation-
Yes ga steve is correct- The Emancipation Proclamation was simply a war tactic to get the blacks in the south to revolt, thereby adding an internal rebellion into the mix against the Confederates. At the time slavery was legal and in practice in the WHOLE nation, not just the south. The E.P. by Lincoln specifically freed the slaves in the south, NOT in the north! So, he freed those he couldn’t legally free and left those that he could in slavery. Lincoln was no friend to the blacks, despite the century and a half of spin. He actually had a plan to deport most of them after the war was won and over, but he was assassinated before he could implement it.
The founders had intended for the words of the Declaration of Independence to be IDEALS that would eventually become reality-
“We hold these Truths to be self-evident, that all Men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness.” Notice that the word men is capitalized here? It meant “mankind”. These men were not bigots or sexists, they were simply products of their time who knew that things couldn’t happen all at once. It would have destroyed the cause of separation/revolt from England if this had been the case.

Slavery Shmavery.

In a land, far, far away, in a time long, long ago, a slave boat was docked on the shores of west Africa. On land, a weaker tribe of Africans was being sold out by thier bretheron, a stronger tribe, who probably wishes they could be in the USA in modern times instead of that shithole they call the cradle of evolution. At the time, there were white slaves of European ancestry, but black slaves were highly sought, as their physical attributes were far beyond that of white slaves.
As a result, the weaker African slave tribes benefitted from life on Western shores, becoming educated, and given opportunities to assimilate, though they never assimilated into the culture which delivered them, who fully accept them as thier equals in modern time. Do you think things would be different if the modern day blacks would have been descendents of the ruling tribes?

Slavery, as it turned out, has benefitted a select class of Africans. Blacks in the US have a higher living standard than any black population on the planet.
