URINE-GATE: DANA LOESCH VS. GOLDIE TAYLOR!
Good-Afternoon friends, I read about these stories yesterday afternoon and wanted to share them with you today. Both of these gals are contributors on CNN…both have opposing opinions.
Here’s Dana’s view via Mediaite:
CNN political contributor and Editor-in-Chief of Big Journalism Dana Loesch came out in support of the video showing US Marines urinating on the corpses of Taliban fighters during her radio show Thursday on FM News Talk 97.1. “Now we have a bunch of progressives that are talking smack about our military because there were marines caught urinating on corpses, Taliban corpses,” Loesch opined. “Can someone explain to me if there’s supposed to be a scandal that someone pees on the corpse of a Taliban fighter? Someone who, as part of an organization, murdered over 3,000 Americans? I’d drop trou and do it too. That’s me though. I want a million cool points for these guys. Is that harsh to say? Come on people, this is a war. What do people think this is?”
The Marine Corps previously had released a statement condemning the solider’s actions as “egregious, disgusting behavior.”
Update: A CNN spokesperson released the following statement to Mediaite:
CNN contributors are commentators who express a wide range of viewpoints—on and off of CNN—that often provoke strong agreement or disagreement. Their viewpoints are their own.
Update II: Loesch has responded. Here’s an excerpt, via Big Journalism:
There is a difference in advocating for the Marines to break the law, which I didn’t do, and defending them from overly-dramatic hysteria. I was using absurdity to highlight absurdity. It’s absurd to desecrate corpses but it’s not wrong to hate terrorists who are trying to kill our troops–and us. And I’m not in uniform–so I am free to express what a lot of Americans feel about the controversy, even if it makes some pony-tailed academics feel uncomfortable.
The progressive left chose to include CNN in their attack because they don’t like that the network–any network–features conservative voices and have been throwing everything at the wall to get me removed since the very beginning.
My entire point of the past two days was to highlight the absurd reaction from militant troop-bashers to these Marines. In my Twitter timeline yesterday progressives called our military “killers, kids, barbaric trash, murderers …” The only time soldiers are celebrated by the left is when they engage in protests like OWS. The rest of the time they’re demonized. They get the red carpet rolled out for them, too.
Next up…Goldie Taylor via Mediaite:

On Saturday’s CNN Newsroom, host Don Lemon spoke with political analyst Goldie Taylor about the controversy surrounding the four US Marines who videotaped themselves urinating on the corpses of alleged Taliban fighters in Afghanistan. Taylor, a former Marine, took the opportunity to call out CNN contributor Dana Loesch, calling Loesch’s remarks “disgusting,” adding “to say you would ‘drop trou’ and do the same thing, I question someone’s integrity who would say something like that.”
Lemon opened the segment by issuing the shortest window ever to get the kids out of the room, then played the now-infamous clip (strategically blurred) of four US Marines doing a number (one) on some enemy corpses. Taylor told Lemon that the tape wasn’t representative of the Marine Corps that she belonged to, and that “When I look at that, and look at what four marines did to defame my Marine Corps, I’m disgusted.”
She went on to say that the four Marines should be court-martialed.
Lemon asked Taylor about people who defended these Marines’ actions. I’ve heard it,” Taylor said. “And I’ve heard it on this air, frankly. That is disgusting in and of itself, not as satire not as a joke but to say you would ‘drop trou’ and do the same thing, I question someone’s integrity who would say something like that. I want to know if they understand what our young men and women are up against every day. I don’t want to demonize the men and women who serve our country. I honor them, and served alongside them, and am proud of them. But when something like this happens, we have to stand up and call it for the behavior that it is.”
And here we have Goldie Taylor replying to Rick Perry’s opinion on this matter yesterday when he was a guest with CNN’s Candy Crowley:
Political commentator Goldie Taylor appeared on CNN Newsroom Sunday evening to respond to Texas Governor Rick Perry‘s comments, in which he deemed calls for the bringing of criminal charges against of the Marines urinating on the bodies of slain Taliban as, “over-the-top.”
“It is a criminal act. There is no question about that,” Taylor proclaimed. “Geneva Convention, you know, from the code of military justice — it was a criminal act. There is just no question about that. Was it a stupid mistake on behalf of four Marines? Absolutely. Does it have security implications? Absolutely.”

So friends…add your thoughts, how do you see this through your View-Finder in life when it comes to the two gals opinions, one being a conservative, the other a big time progressive who served as a Marine herself?

I agree with Col. Alan West on this one.
Apparently there are already protocols in place for handling these types of military infractions.
So let their Commanding Officer handle it and everybody else STHU.
Don’t need no diplomatic apologies, genuflections, nor reparations, urine dries eventually, get over it.

By the way…I totally agreed with what Rick Perry said yesterday to Crowley about this subject.He didn’t bring this up…she just had to dontcha know…they can’t help themselves, agenda is all that matters to them and their real disdain for the military…along with the leftist-loons everywhere…politicians included ~ big time!

As a Marine myself, I can say I know what was going through the heads of these four Marines!! These Devil Dogs were simply marking their territory. We all know a dogs natural enemy is the cat. In the case of a Devil Dog it’s a terrorist “pussy” that is our natural enemy.

This is the thanks these Marines get for risking their life! These rag heads follow zero of the rules documented in the Geneva Convention. i.e. sending children to blow themselves up to kill other citizens. Yet our own government officials are looking to send these guys up the river…what about an Article 15 and an official reprimand placed in their file..why ruin their life?? If anything we should be lenient with these guys because of the hazards of their job! I don’t remember the Taliban protesting when the Somali’s were dragging our soldier’s bodies in the streets…but give our own govt. the opportunity to crush our own…well they’re more than happy to.

Bluto…I’ve had same problem, I’ve had to hit refresh to get the comment to take and go on…this seems to happen now and then here, I have no idea why, but it does drive one battier than we already are.
As to your post about debate, I watched it same way, without computer posts for a change, my hubby got home at the end of it, so he missed most of it…I tried to fill him in…but it was really something you had to watch yourself….know what I mean?
Going to try to post now…if it doesn’t, I’ll hit refresh…that works every-time until they have it fixed.

Lemmie try to understand this…..it is OK to cut the Taliban fighters in half with a .50 BMG from a mile away, but if you pee on them, it is somehow horrible beyond belief? OK, I get it.
