It’s pretty apparent the Second Amendment is the only thing keeping us from being Venezuela these days. That’s why libtards hate guns! Kind of hard for libtards to round up those unruly, right-wing extremist patriot types when they can shoot back. If there’s one thing the Founding Fathers got right, it was the right for Americans to own guns to protect our liberty. A few years ago, I never thought the day might come when we’d have to actually use guns to defend the Constitution and the freedoms it guarantees. With the current anti-Americans infecting Washington, nobody can deny it’s no longer an outside chance…it seems damn likely! Well “nobody” who isn’t a libtard. But they’re not worried about preserving personal liberties….only taking them!

AWD wishes he could say the above rig was mine. It belongs to a good friend who lent it to AWD and Angry White Son to hunt coyotes last Saturday at the ranch of a very good Colonel friend of mine. We had a great time but it monsooned all damn day and nothing was moving. Last time it rained that hard, Noah went and built himself a boat! But man did we go through the ammo anyway! Had a blast! One damn thing is sure….AWD is saving his shekels for a new AR!

It’s been a while since we’ve paid homage to great firearms so tonight’s open post is dedicated to guns, guns and more guns! Because the only thing better than guns is? Anyone? Anyone? MORE GUNS! One of the billions of things I like about my beloved State of Texas is everybody has arsenals…and knows how to use them! Want to know how high a .223 caliber 55 grain bullet will be above the ground at 350 yards if your target is at 500? Your neighbor will know. Your neighbors on both sides of your house.

So tonight, feel free to talk about your favorite rig or rigs, what caliber and why. And how happiness is, indeed, a warm gun!

Or you may sound off on the AWDs new theme. I know it’s different but an upgrade had to be made. You’ll get used to it. Redstater gets credit for the new AWD logo that will be introduced next week. Also, we’ll have more AWD designs for dudes and sexy little dudettes (v-necks and tight tank tops, baybah!).

Tonight’s Music That Doesn’t Suck comes from a bunch of Texas hippies. And they play hard! Normally, AWD doesn’t care much for hippies because they occupy and poop on everything. But these are Texas Hippies…so that’s different. You just know these boys like guns! And gooder n hell rock and roll too! Something for the headbanger dudes out there tonight. Here’s “Pissed Off And Mad About It.”

Damn! All those Dean ML guitars make me think of only one thing….Pantera! Pantera from Dallas, Texas! You’d have to look hard to find a better kick-ass song than “Cowboys From Hell” and you still wouldn’t find it! Go ahead, bang your head….it’s OK. RIP Dime.

  1. Dang AWD! I’m stuck at work and can’t check out the Music That Doesn’t Suck till I get home. Hopefully it will be worth the wait.

As far as long guns are concerned, well needless to say if I was shooting for Shite I couldn’t get a wiff. Though I’m not to bad with a 120 smooth bore. Those don’t work out real well when hunting Coyotes. I do like my Mossberg 590-A1, fine home defense weapon. As far as handguns like to stick with what I know. Barettas (model 96 in 40 Smith). I also like the Glock 19, I have one with a really cool Burris sight.

As far as 2Amendment is concerned its THE ONE WITH TEETH!

  2. Dude get one ,it is sweet Believe me

  3. I need to get my guns out and give ’em some love. ESPECIALLY my husband’s awesome Colt .45.

  4. I probably can’t get one of those up here in the People’s Republic of New York, can I? But hot damn, what I wouldn’t pay to get my paws on that.

  5. I’ve got my eye on a Sig Sauer P226, .40 cal. My Browning BDA .380 may be a bit under-powered.

  6. I’m still recomending the Glock 20 10mm with a Raven holster.

  7. A little off topic, but check out some VFW justice applied to someone who needed a lesson in patriotism!:

  8. Haveing a hell of a time getting the pass word to work.

  9. Just Another Random Thought says:

I’m not a fan of the AR platform. While there are a million accessories, its the action itself that leaves something to be desired. But that being said, that doesn’t make them bad, just not my preference.
For the people the live in Communist states, maybe think about the Ruger mini 14. Shoots the same lead as an AR. Always back and forth arguments between the 2. But, the mini 14 isn’t considered an assault rifle, so can be bought easier.
Of course no one can ever go wrong with an AK47 for when the Proverbial chicaca hits the fan. They now make an ak47 platform for several calibers. .223/.308/7.62×39. But the one I’m most attracted to is the ak47 12 gauge. (Tim allen Grunt).
Also, just putting it out there…if you could only afford one, consider a ruger 10/22. Only a .22, but every part of the gun can be purchased, and its incredibly easy to work on, if need be.

  10. Yes, Of course I know the ballistics of my Kel-Tec SU-16, 223.
It will be a main battle rifle for the Conservatives if and when civil war ever breaks out in the USA.
Always sight it in at 2 inches above the bullseye at 100 yards.

  11. AWD

Still shocked by the new format on the Website, looks great, but it looks so slick I expect we will get some trolls.

As for guns, I do love my guns.

For CC: My SIG-229 in .40 (looking to add a S&W 380 bodyguard when I can not carry the SIG)

Home Defense: My S&W 3000 in .12 gauge, it’s an old Police Riot Gun from the late 70’s early 80’s that they manufactured in Japan of all places. Looks and runs great, I think it sat in a patrol car its entire life of service.

SHTF: My S&W MP-15 in 5.56, it is their version of the AR-15.

Sentimental: Toss up between my .357 Colt Python with 6″ barrel that my dad gave me when I graduated from college and the Savage over under in .22mag/.20guage that he gave me for Christmas when I was 10.

Historical: My 1879 Argentine Rolling Block. A 133 year old military gun, that is in good condition with nice bore, for 133, although I do not have the gumption to shoot it.

Guns I would like: Too many to name and they have changed over time. But one that I have always wanted is any musket or pistol that was used in the Revolutionary War.

My motto: Guns are like potato chips you can not eat one potato chip and you can not own one gun.

  12. Speaking of the 2nd Amendment…check out DiFi’s challenger in Ca.

Well worth the read…I hope this gal has a chance vs. DiFi…but is Ca…so we all know how that blue state goes.

Here’s one more I just read about ~

He should have been given a badge of honor!

This country is so screwed up.

    • I just heard about this a few minutes ago. Sure hope like hell the guy isn’t charged. The burglars in NH likely have more rights than the homeowners. In the sane states, TX and others, a neighbor would be more likely to pump one in his ass. About a yr. ago, a Houston area man killed one burglar coming out of his neighbor’s house, and wounded the other burglar. Seem to recall he was no-billed by grand jury.

  13. That is a right handsome AR. How did you like the broomstick on the bottom rail? My nephew, the Navy SWCC, recommends, so I figure to adorn my RR with one ere long. By the way, the movie with all the real SEALS is coming out in a day or two, thinking about playing hooky and catching a matinee. Should be about 90+ minutes of gun porn, fighting and shooting and shit.

Sorry about the monsoon during the coyote hunt. Yeah, they’ll be able to spot the brass pile from the space station if we keep it up down there.

Act of Valor official movie trailer:

  14. For all of you goat-ropin’ rednecks out there who like tactical weapons, check these out. They are building the manufacturing facility just down the road from where I work.

    • MTP, that there is some centerfold quality firearms. Been thinking about getting me an M40A3 for my 60th bday coming up. Proof has some good looking actions.

These Tx. boys are building some contenders about 100 miles W of Ft. Worth.

      Surgeon not shabby either:

I’m thinking chamber in 300 Win Mag, would like to see if I could adjust the volume on a neighbor’s car stereo with it.

      • Hey Angus….

Thanks for passing those links, really nice stuff!

Now I have to go change shirts from the drool πŸ˜‰

And you should treat yourself for your 60th!

  15. I don’t have any guns. But I have a cat named Mr. Mittens; he is from Bosnia. This is his gun, there are many like it, but this one is his.

Mr. Mittens doesn’t like excessive tech πŸ™‚

    • Waspish.
That looks like one of the home made toys we made as kids, and I still got all my fingers.

      • Yep ga Steve, you’re lucky, Mr.Mittens Is missing both of his opposable thumbs. However he never misses what he is shooting at πŸ™‚

  16. What is the deal with the ‘password’? Do we have to do that every time now?

As for guns, guns kill people, and I wouldn’t know what to do with one ‘if’ I had one. Hehe

    • Good Evening Swamp

Just an FYI from my end.

I have only had to put my password in the one time and check the “Keep me signed in” thingy……not sure other things aren’t going on. I get the “Click to Edit” and “Request Deletion” icons for everyone! I could really goof everyone up!! πŸ˜‰

      • Just tried to comment on another thrtead, and was told to type the password. I did. It keeps giving the same idiotic message. Type the password. It says you can copy and paste it, I did. Same idiotic message from wordpress.

It worked here, but not on a Bigtimer thread. What a hassle.

        • Hey Swamp…

Sorry to hear you are having trouble posting. I am sure the Dude is working to get all the bugs out. Hang in there!

  17. Had your same problem swamp, I think it times out fast. I just copy my entire comment, then refresh, then paste my comment back, then copy paste the password

except the 2nd time around I forgot to put it under your relpy πŸ™‚

  18. Since we can talk about anything, has anyone seen this on RINO McCain, I can believe it.

    • @ga steve….

      Interesting reading for sure.

I have an add on to this from a Naval Aviator that was in theater at the time that McCain was shot down. My source told me that McCain was shot down in an area he was NOT supposed to be at and had gone there on his own. And that it was not the first time he had done that, seemingly wanting to show others his abilities, or just show off I would suppose.

  19. A funny for the evening:

The Spirit of America: The Texas Rancher.
Bless this one, and bless them all……

In Texas there is a town called New Braunfels , where there is a large German-speaking population.

One day, a local rancher driving down a country road noticed a man using his hand to drink water from the rancher’s stock pond.

The rancher rolled down the window and shouted: “Guten Morgen! Trink das Wasser nicht. Die kuehe haben darein geschissen.”

Which means: “Good Morning! Don’t drink the water. The cows sh%t in it.”

The man shouted back: “I’m from New York and just down here campaigning for Obama. I can’t understand you. Speak English!”

The rancher replied: “Use both hands.”

  20. GaSteve:

I never believed this guy’s story for the most part. My grandfather and father were both Naval Aviators in the Pacifc in WWII and as a kid growing up in San Diego I knew many jet jockies who were rotating in and out of Vietnam. We always had two or three staying at the house at the beach between tours. They didn’t strike me as anything like McCain. He doesn’t have the stones that those guys did. They were gung ho about the war and defending America. Wouldn’t have sung nor would they have accepted special treatment.

We can, in a perverse way, count ourselves lucky that McCain didn’t win in 2008.

  21. Springfield SOCOM 16 in 7.62X51(308) and Glock 19 (9mm)with AAC silencer.

  22. I carried the M-14 and a GI 1911 in the military. I am just too old to change. The M1A and a 1911 with good sights are still my choice after more than four decades.

With the M-14 you could shoot through a palm tree and get that little “rice picker”, the M-16 wouldn’t do that.

  23. Springfield SOCOM / M1A / or any M14, M1, M1903, M1903A3(4), trapdoor, or Krag. These rifles have kept the wolf from the door for years. The 1911 in all its variants are swell. A good weapon is going to be an investment, you caint go wrong with the above or any H&K product. Glocks be nice too and a little friendlier on the moneyclip. Resist Much I did before joining the NRA, but now I’m brainwashed by ’em. It’s the best option to seriously defend our 2nd Amendment rights.
