Barack Obama – Yes I Can Make Us Defenseless—Just Like Dec 7, 1941
I don’t know about all of you folks, but I’ve about had it with what Dear Leader has been pulling the last three days when it comes to keeping this nation safe…this jerks my chain to the ninth degree!
Here’s some of the latest regarding the top video, this took place in Oct. ’07 when he was running for president:
“I’m the only major candidate who opposed this war from the beginning. And as president I will end it. Second, I will cut tens of billions of dollars in wasteful spending. I will cut investments in unproven missile defense systems. I will not weaponize space. I will slow our development of future combat systems. And I will institute an independent “Defense Priorities Board” to ensure that the Quadrennial Defense Review is not used to justify unnecessary spending. Third, I will set a goal of a world without nuclear weapons. To seek that goal, I will not develop new nuclear weapons; I will seek a global ban on the production of fissile material; and I will negotiate with Russia to take our ICBMs off hair-trigger alert, and to achieve deep cuts in our nuclear arsenals.”
Well, well, well, that was then, this is now. I don’t know if many of you read the Washington Post’s article they had the other day, I, along with others posted it on this site here and there. If you didn’t read it, here it is once again regarding the story that helped start this whole brouhaha.
Rush summed it up well for millions of us out here in the real world yesterday. Listen to the video below.
Rush: “Peace Through Weakness” That’s What Obama Is Cobbling Together With Nuke Reduction
If you can’t watch the video here is the transcript:
There are some things happening today that are downright scary. The regime, led by Barack Hussein Obama, is weighing options for reducing our US nuclear force, including a reduction of up to 80% in the number of deployed warheads — 80%. Folks, this is staggering. Meanwhile, the Iranians are nuking up. Iran announced today that they’re gonna cut off oil to six countries that have opposed its nuclear program, and more importantly, Iran also announced that they have installed domestically made nuclear fuel rods in their Tehran reactor.
Now, if that’s true, this is significant because the sanctions that are currently imposed on them are supposed to prevent them from getting the material that you need to make nuclear rods. And, also, if this is true, it puts Iran that much closer to being able to make a nuclear weapon. We’re unilaterally disarming. We are not requiring the Russians to go along and, even if the Russians said they would match these reductions, they lie. That is the lesson of the Russians and nukes. What was our top moment? Our number of warheads peaked at 12,000 in the late eighties. And let me tell you something. That number of nuclear warheads is what helped us win the Cold War. That number of nuclear warheads sent a message to every other nation, particularly at that point in time, the Soviet Union, “You hit us, it doesn’t matter. We’ve got enough left to wipe you out in retaliation.” That many nuclear warheads was a deterrent.
So much is flashing back to me. You go back to the eighties and the seventies, the nuclear freeze movement, the peaceniks wanted to get rid of nukes, and there was an arms race going on. We were increasing our stockpile, as were the Russians. The numbers mattered only in terms of deterrent. We had to keep up, and we had to stay ahead. You build, for example, the B-2 bomber, hoping never to have to use it. The left has never understood this about military matters and defense. They never understood this about nukes. You build them so that you don’t have to use them. That’s the point. You don’t build them because you want to. You don’t build them because you can’t wait to use them. You don’t build them because you’re warmongers. You build them so that you don’t have to. It’s what’s behind practically every major weapon invention and manufacture.
The B-2 stealth bomber, you hope you never have to use it. Now, we have had to, obviously. But the hope is that the brute force and the ability to project power is enough to deter anybody from taking us on. It’s a great strategy, it is how this stuff works, and now Barack Obama is reducing our stockpile unilaterally by 80%, back to 300 warheads. Now, you might say, “Well, that’s good, Rush, it’s making the world safer.” It is not making the world safer. If the Russians still have 15,000 or 2,000, whatever the number is, folks, there’s a balance of power here that has shifted away from us, and this — I am here to tell you — is by design.
Now I don’t always agree with El Rushbo on every single issue, but I sure as heck do regarding this. He summed it up in a nutshell for me, how about you all?
Last, but not least…we have Panetta and Dempsey at a Senate Armed Services Committee Tuesday. Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Martin Dempsey spoke about the risks involved in President Obama’s 2013 budget proposal:
“Sequestration Would Result in Hollow Force”
I can’t ask soldiers, sailors, airmen, and marines to leave quicker than they are going to leave, and I can’t touch infrastructure, sequestration leaves me three places to go to find the additional money—operations, maintenance, and training. That’s the definition of a hollow force.
You can read this in detail here.
As a few side-notes, I’ve been waiting to hear what some of our congress-critters on the right side of life have to say about this since we sure as heck haven’t seen many of our leaders via the Boob-Tube on this issue…yet.
This is from Senator Jim Inhofe and a few others, you can read all about it here…it’s well worth the read.
Then we have this regarding cutting missile defense funding to Israel from Ileana Ros-Lehtinen and Howard McKeon, both serve on the House Foreign Affairs Committee…you can read it here and see the letter/petition they signed and sent to Obama.
Plus…we cannot forget he’s already halted the U.S. from becoming independent on our own resources when it comes to oil etc…this is a major national defense component too of major importance. He and his team are slowly strangling us to death via jobs, prices at the pumps, groceries, just the economy as a whole, unemployment rolls, free markets/enterprises etc etc. It’s all tied together…as we all know in our everyday world…and we’re all paying the price for it in one way or the other.
So, friends…throw out your thoughts here, what do you think Dear Leader’s real deep down motives are…do you think he will achieve them all before we boot his skinny rear-end all the way back to Chicago-Thuggery-Land come Jan. ’13?
