ANGRY WHITE DUDE’S THOUGHTS ON ANDREW BREITBART AND HIS PASSING

Filed under: Conservative Thought,Dude of the Week,In The Press |

WALKED IT LIKE HE TALKED IT!

AWD has been in a lot of places and I’ve seen some crazy sh*t but I don’t believe I’ve ever met anyone like Andrew Breitbart. AWD got a text this morning from his Angry White Mother informing me of Andrew’s passing. It will be, for many of us in the “pissing off libtards” bidness, like the death of Elvis. We’ll never forget where we were or what we were doing when we heard the bad news.

AWD spoke with Andrew last about three weeks ago and I can’t say it went very well. We had made plans to do something and he backed out at the last minute. Bluntly, AWD was pissed. But that was Andrew. He has been called arrogant..and indeed he was. But he was brilliant. He was fun loving. He was scattered. He was self-loving. He had a great heart. And he had guts! I remember one night him sitting in a chair in a hotel room reading an article to a small group about himself that had run in the LA Times. It took nearly an hour to read it…but he read every word and also gave commentary in between paragraphs. It was surreal to see someone that into them self. But it wasn’t offensive….more curious to the onlookers. Andrew was enjoying every word!

I once saw him speak to a Tea Party group. He was scheduled for 20 minutes. He spoke for one hour and ten minutes. He actually sweated through his shirt AND sports coat! Not a person left the audience!

Once over lunch he told me his goal was to destroy the mainstream media. And we discussed AWD’s goal to destroy political correctness. He loved my Angry White Imam posts. Since our goals were indirectly linked, we shared that commonality. And we both didn’t mind pissing off PC liberals along the way either. For AWD, it is a hobby. For Breitbart, it was a true vocation. And he did it better than anyone.

I’m so sad for his family. I teared up a bit today thinking about not seeing my children again to tell them how much I love and adore them. Or my beautiful filly of a wife. From what I hear, Andrew was a devoted father and good husband. I never had the opportunity to discuss that part of his life with him. We shared the same taste in music and discussed that one day over the best muffaletta sandwich in Dallas.

What I will remember in Andrew Breitbart is his devotion to spreading truth no matter what the cost. He was not conventional. He envisioned a day when the mainstream media would be made totally insignificant. He didn’t have the time to complete his mission. But he and his team have broken some of the biggest stories in recent years. ACORN and exposing voter fraud come to mind.

His recent CPAC speech was one of his most provocative. He told of having a video of Obama in college that would do great damage to the President this election cycle. Many, including myself, have speculated today if that may have something to do with his strange passing. We may never know. But we will see the video. AWD spoke with a close contact of Breitbart’s this afternoon and it was said there were several copies of the video spread around the United States.

I wouldn’t say AWD and Breitbart were friends. We knew each other and were friendly. He would sometimes answer my calls, sometimes not. But we shared the same love of exposing the danger of liberal politics and the tremendous deception libs use to further their cause. And that was enough to bind us.

I was going to call Andrew this week about something I wanted his help on. I’m sorry that the last time we spoke, I had gotten sideways with him. I left him a text on his cell this morning saying, “RIP, my brother. You fought the good fight! You will be missed.” And he will.

AWD

Here is Andrew in action in Dallas. The emcee is Mark Davis of WBAP who guest-hosts for Rush:

Just after posting my thoughts on Andrew, this song came up on my iPod and thought I’d post it for you. Maybe there’s some message here. Yes, life will go on.

  1. I remember the last vid AWD…I’m really glad you posted it again, I was wondering if you would.

We lost a good one today…no doubt about it. I don’t know if anyone else like him is going to come along and hold the progressives accountable anymore like he did…let alone take them on as he did.

    My heart hurts today. ~

  2. Man, what a true warrior for the conservative movement.
My prayers go out to Mr. Breitbart and his entire family.

This man lived by his words and bravely went out of his way to expose the unending liberal bias surfacing all throughout the television and print media! Unlike those pseudo-conservative talking heads on Fox who live by the liberal commandment of “fear of offending”, Breitbart wasn’t afraid of publicly renouncing the corruption of the Democrat party, liberalism and Barack Hussein Obama!

So, if Obama and his devious liberal disciples are publicly exposed or justifiably criticized by an Andrew Breitbart or any other brave conservative, a sudden or mysterious death will be the end result of his/her efforts?

Whose next? James O’Keefe? Lila Rose? Card.Timothy Dolan?

  3. Don’t beat yourself up over your last conversation with Andrew, those things happen. He probably knew in his heart the two of you were kindred spirits in the war against the libtards. Others of us will have to pick up and carry the gauntlet. I piss off as many of my liberal friends on Facebook as I can. It causes me much glee.

  6. AWD- It is truly a sad day with Andrews passing. My heart goes out to
his family and friends – what an amazing guy.

“Big Government” was a go-to site everyday…he always had great articles
and commentary on his blog – I really liked “Big Hollywood”, I checked
out reviews for upcoming films and other interesting things going on
    in TV and movie industry…

I hope those videos he talked about during his CPAC speech get out-
I’m sure he has people he trusted – and they will share them with us all. I’m sure it will be very enlightening.

He was a very brave guy – I will miss him thats for sure.

  7. Some things you can just not understand – re: such a young death.

Anyway, my take on the removing the MSM and Political Correctness, well, both are symptoms of the disease in the currency.

When you have a S—Load of endless money that can be created/printed at will over time you find that it ends up funding every evil thing possible. In this case, people have the money to spend time redefining and promoting changes like “Garbage Collector” into “Sanitation Engineer” for example. Brochures/name tags/announcements and retrain, er brainwash people on your evil vision of the world.

The MSM would find itself in a funding squeeze if real world economics applied to them. But it doesn’t. The rise of the MSM coincides nicely with the period 1964-1971 when Silver and Gold were removed from the monetary system. Again, it’s extra funny money to pay for stories and influence events that normally would not exist.

Political correctness and the MSM will die when fiat currency dies. Until then, the good fight is more necessary than ever.

  8. AP Misrepresents Breitbart, Even In Death
    March 1st, 2012

    From a shameless Associated Press:

Conservative publisher Breitbart dies in LA at 43

By PHILIP ELLIOTT and SUE MANNING
    March 1, 2012

WASHINGTON (AP) — Conservative media publisher and activist Andrew Breitbart, who was behind investigations that led to the resignations of former Rep. Anthony Weiner and former U.S. Agriculture Department official Shirley Sherrod, has died in Los Angeles.

We would say these are some of his lesser accomplishments, actually. For instance, this AP article never mentions Breitbart’s work building the Drudge Report. Or even his work helping to start the Huffington Post.

He was 43. Breitbart’s website, bigjournalism.com, announced Thursday he died of natural causes in Los Angeles in the early morning hours. His death was confirmed by Breitbart.com editor-in-chief Joel Pollak, who said he was at the hospital, and by the Los Angeles County coroner’s office.

Breitbart was walking near his house in the Brentwood neighborhood shortly after midnight Thursday when he collapsed, his father-in-law Orson Bean said.

Someone saw him fall and called paramedics, who tried to revive him. They rushed him to the emergency room at UCLA Medical Center, Bean said.

Breitbart had suffered heart problems a year earlier, but Bean said he could not pinpoint what happened… He is survived by his wife Susannah Bean Breitbart, 41, and four children.

Breitbart was an outspoken critic of the mainstream media but was lionized by his fans for his efforts at exposing government corruption and media bias.

Breitbart was at the center of two video controversies in recent years – one that led to the firing of an Agriculture Department employee over an edited video of what appeared to be a racist remark, and another that embarrassed the community group ACORN when workers were shown counseling actors posing as a prostitute and pimp.

Breitbart is known for disseminating an edited video that showed an Agriculture Department employee making what appeared to be racist remarks.

Sherrod, who is black, was fired from her job as Georgia state rural development director in July 2010 after the video surfaced. She is seen telling a local NAACP group that she was initially reluctant to help a white farmer save his farm more than two decades ago, long before she worked for USDA.

Missing from the clip was the rest of the speech, which was meant as a lesson in racial healing. Sherrod told the crowd she eventually realized her mistake and helped the farmer save his farm. She has since filed a lawsuit against Breitbart.

This is the kind of outright mendacity that Breitbart fought against. The clip, which has been available on YouTube before Breitbart posted it on his site, contained enough of Ms. Sherrod’s comments to make it clear that she was telling an anecdote to explain how she had become enlightened about racism.

Breitbart’s websites also featured a 2009 hidden-camera sting video that brought embarrassment to the community group ACORN. The videos show ACORN staffers offering advice on taxes and other issues to actors posing as a prostitute and pimp.

What a laugh. The ACORN staffers were doing a lot more than “offering advice on taxes and other issues.”

But all of this just proves the need for more people like Andrew Breitbart.

  15. Sad day at my house. When I heard the sad news, I texted AWD as I knew he and Andrew were like souls in the fight for conservatism… and we expressed dismay and confusion as we talked. AWD indicated Andrew had a ‘smoking gun’ on Obama that would blow him out of the water for the up-coming election… my thoughts are ‘I hope so’. But if Rev Wright didn’t effect Obama in 2008, I can’t imagine what Breitbart has uncovered. I just hope it comes out – if nothing else – to put an exclamation mark on Andrew’s passing. My prayers are with his wife and four little children. Sad, sad day. RIP fellow patriot.

  16. I’m in disbelief. A real shocker. Sad but also very angering. I saw a little of myself in Andrew in the way of knowing the risk of going up against the enemy and how very maddening if not crazy, it can get. But I also know how personally rewarding it is to do the right thing, even if others don’t agree or how much it may cost and I believe Andrew did too. So to lose one of our warriors that was fighting the good fight is angering, it’s a loss we simply cannot afford, not now not ever. But especially not now. I’d like to think there are more of us, in fact, seems to be a few here on this site so that’s a comfort. We’ll just have to pick up Andrew’s sword and continue the fight, taking his attitude with us.

What we do know is that the Conservative movement and patriotic Americans have lost a powerful and courageous voice. Rest in Peace, Andrew Breitbart.
