It’s been hilarious watching various talking-heads come completely unglued today after some of the questions and answers that were given during oral arguments this afternoon in the Supreme Court didn’t suit their fancy nor their previous predictions regarding the individual mandate…brought to us by the one and only constitutional law professor from Chicago, which he crammed down our throats two year ago, along with his side-kicks SanFranNan and Whispering Dingy Harry. This may come back to bite them all and those that promoted and voted for this in a big way, including the talking heads…time will tell.

Here’s a report that’s put together nicely via TB:

As Tuesday‘s hearing in front of the Supreme Court on Obamacare’s individual mandate wraps up for the day, the buzz is that things are not looking good for the Obama administration.

“This was a train wreck for the Obama administration. This law looks like it’s going to be struck down,” Jeffrey Toobin said on CNN. “All of the predictions including mine that the justices would not have a problem with this law were wrong.”

He continued: “The only conservative justice who looked like he might uphold the law was Chief Justice Roberts who asked hard questions of both sides, all four liberal justices tried as hard as they could to make the arguments in favor of the law, but they were — they did not meet with their success with their colleagues.”

He wasn’t the only one. NBC’s Pete Williams echoed that sentiment when he said the law was “in trouble”:

“Sharp questioning by the Supreme Court‘s conservative justices has cast serious doubt on the survival of the individual insurance requirement at the heart of President Barack Obama’s historic health care overhaul,” the Associated Press concludes.

The L.A. Times has some of the questions from inside the courtroom:

Even before the administration’s top lawyer could get three minutes into his defense of the mandate, some justices accused the government of pushing for excessive authority to require Americans to buy anything.

“Are there any limits,” asked Justice Anthony Kennedy, one of three conservative justices whose votes are seen as crucial to the fate of the unprecedented insurance mandate.

Chief Justice John G. Roberts Jr. suggested that the government might require Americans to buy cellphones to be ready for emergencies. And Justice Antonin Scalia asked if the government might require Americans to buy broccoli or automobiles.

“If the government can do this, what else can it … do?” Scalia asked.

Much of the focus has been on Justice Anthony Kennedy, long considered the swing vote between the liberal and conservative factions on the bench. On Tuesday, he questioned whether the insurance requirement “is a step beyond what our cases allow.” Still, while showing initial skepticism of the law, he later seemed to back down from that. Here’s how the respected Supreme Court outlet SCOTUSblog puts it:

If Justice Anthony M. Kennedy can locate a limiting principle in the federal government’s defense of the new individual health insurance mandate, or can think of one on his own, the mandate may well survive. If he does, he may take Chief Justice John G. Roberts, Jr., and a majority along with him. But if he does not, the mandate is gone. That is where Tuesday’s argument wound up — with Kennedy, after first displaying a very deep skepticism, leaving the impression that he might yet be the mandate’s savior.

He and Chief Justice John Roberts are emerging as the seemingly pivotal votes.

Justices Antonin Scalia and Samuel Alito appeared likely to join with Justice Clarence Thomas to vote to strike down the key provision. The four Democratic appointees seemed ready to vote to uphold it.

The founder of SCOTUSblog recapped the day’s events with Megyn Kelly and said, “It was an extremely hard day for [the government]“:

If any of you Dudes or Dudettes want to hear the audio of today’s hearing you can listen to it here.

OCare is a complete disaster in many realms of society, we all know it…let alone our own personal lives and freedoms. As far as I’m concerned this whole thing is completely unconstitutional, nothing but complete control…total power grab on all of us on various ways, those tons of pages that contain OCare are filled with monstrosities, we’ve heard about many examples of that since this has passed and still are to this day. Plus, we cannot forget there are approximately 138 new bureaucracies created within this gigantic monster too – Another reason ding-bat Pop-Up Pelosi told us “We have to pass the bill so you can know what’s in it.” …then she did the blinky-eyed move along with her insufferable phony laugh.

Obama is nothing but a dictator…he has to go come Nov. before he completely destroys what’s left of this country.

My sentiments are with the people who were chanting outside the courthouse today…how about you?

Hey, Hey, Ho, Ho, Obamacare has got to GO!

So friends…what chances do you give when it comes to the Supreme Court throwing this out? Tomorrow is the last day for oral arguments at the courthouse…it may be very interesting as well. Stay-Tuned.

There is hope that checks and balance may still be alive in the U.S.A. I pray for my country every night as I am sure many do, I have a feeling someone up there is listening.

    • ga steve…

I have that feeling too. 😉

      • Big,
Just saw this very sobering post authored by a former Navy Seal. Hope you and others can check it out when you have a chance:

        • Good-Morning Vixen…

Will do…soon as I have my coffee and take care of some morning rituals around here.

Knowing you, it’ll be a good one. ~

        • Vixen…

Just read all of this…most excellent.

Down towards the end this means a heckuva lot ~

“But while I believe this struggle in which we are engaged is the struggle of the century, nay, the struggle of all centuries, I also believe in American Exceptionalism.

I believe that the heart and soul of America is strong and vibrant and that we shall not falter in our commitment to liberty.

We live NOW in the times that will try men’s souls.”

I got that tweeted, also followed site.

Hope all take a read of this link, you won’t be disappointed.

        • Vixen et al…

Take a gander at this one…I knew nothing about this. Dear Leader’s been a busy man selling us out..once again.

No wonder it’s being investigated via congress, but what will be done about it? We know the msm is mum, will congress be as well?

Bill Gertz has always done a fabulous job, always on top of things. The Clintoons were filthy and evil (selling technology too for political $$$), but Dear Leader has them beat hands down!

        • Sniper1080 says:

That was a great read. Thanks for the link. I will pass it onto all People I know. Thanks again. God Bless and good day!

        • Paul Bonnichsen says:

Good read… pretty much right on the mark.

  2. Hey Andrea…I’ve got an idea, take your hubby (Greenspan) and move there…permanently!

She loves OCare/CubaCare. I tire of this progressive witch…and her nonsensical yammering.

    • Seriously. In fact, all the America-hating Libtards who speak in such glowing terms about Cuba, Venezuela, and other Marxist hell holes should just pack their bags and go there. It would do us all a big favor and we’d get our country back. Sheesh.

    • Paul Bonnichsen says:

Andrea just can’t hate America enough… I’m with you BT, she can move her sorry ass to Cuba or some other third world country and drag hubby with her.

      • Paul…

She’s like a mosquito that you can’t quite get…she’s nothing but a blood-sucker thriving on others while nobody is looking.

In other words…I detest the b!tch.

  3. I realize it’s really late for most of you..and I’m by myself here, just wanted to put a couple more links here for some of you about all of this when it comes to OCare and what happened to day…and there are a lot…but I’ll stop at two for now.

and I love his one. ~

  4. blue eyed devil says:

Will the SCOTUS derail this attempt? IDK… I wont hold my breath. Im sure that this administration will try to use the verdict to thier advantage via the MSM by demonizing conservatives and other fiscally responsible groups… seems the parasites have a scourched earth policy. If allowed parasites aways kill or cripple thier hosts

  5. Anybody notice Kagan trying to coach Gov lawyer?

    • Comanche…

Sure did…her and Breyer as well. ~ Guess they think it wasn’t obvious for all to notice, or they count on nobody listening, plus of course they can always count on the dumb clucks in the rest of this country…most talking-heads included most of the time- yesterday was a rare exception when it came to them…they were besides themselves. It was too much fun watching their hair catch on fire over this. These are the same talking heads who have said for days on end that the O-Team would have NO problem in court with the individual mandate.

  6. This bullsh!t Health Care Law must go down in flames; the entirety of the damn law!!!!

What I hate most about this damn flagrant disregard of the Constitution is that if this god damn piece of legislation stands it opens the door for more government intrusion to tell us that we must OBEY or pay fines and penalties.

This Health Care Bill is the law that opens the door to a complete and total take over by the government and allows for this government to actually become a DICTATORSHIP.

If they get way with this there will be no stopping this government….It will become dictatorial….and we won’t be able to stop it!!!!

If this legislation stands “Civil War We Much”

Kill The Health Care Bill We Much!!!! Or We Will Kill It For You Our Way We Much!!!!!

  7. misterbill says:

I am not watching what is happening. I am so distraught over the happenings in our country that I get extremely tense and nervous.

It is , at last, to me, apparent that Obamacare is in complete violation of our Constitution and in opposition to the intent of our forefathers that I just want to spit in frustration.

I will read about it after the decision. I am also getting tired of reading the opinions of “pundits” when I can come to a site like this and read more practical words than the like od those in DC who still debate what the definition of “is” is.

PS Do not forget how SCOTUS abandoned Americans in the KELO decision.

  8. I hate to be a gloomy Gus here but the second half of the tape was not quite as encouraging as the first half. Seems to me, Kennedy will find a limiting principle, even if there is none there, and will side with the government….That sound you will be hearing around June will be the sound of the U.S. Constitution being shredded. We will all be driving around in Chevy volts soon. Just sayin’

    • jana…

You’re not being gloomy…you’re being realistic. I know what part you’re talking about.

When it comes down to it…congress is going to have to stomp this and kill it dead once and for all.

Another reason why we must elect some more conservatives and get their rears in congress ASAP.

  9. Here’s a great summary from the Heritage Foundation via GP.

    Vid included.

  10. Staggering numbers…absolutely unbelievable at times.

What a web that some weave…and we all end up paying for in one way or another.

  11. WHY is such a fundamental change in our country left up to the decision of 9 UNELECTED individuals???!!!

  12. The idea that the current president of the United State of America would even implement the idea that all of its citizens are entitled to obtained socialized medical care should tell you just where this country is headed.

Since obtaining the presidency, Hussein has been envisioning himself as some kind of Liberal monarch situated amidst a mythical land inhabited by mindless robots who will adhere to his every commands!

No longer do we possess the freedom to make our own decisions without the initial approval of “Dear Leader” and his liberal constituents. This current Supreme Court derailment of Obamacare may very well be his death knell, en route to a second term to the White House.

The same 2nd presidential term which he guaranteed under a hot mic, to the leader of the land where communism was conceived, during a recent meeting regarding nuclear arms defense.

  13. The previous post didn’t contain my full thought…this should have been put to a popular vote/referendum somehow. It is OBSCENE that this is being done without popular input and behind closed doors from the very beginning.

  14. Paul Bonnichsen says:

Can’t believe Roberts would even come close to siding with this bill.

  15. chipstaggs says:

If this is not struck down, why do we need a Supreme Court. They are supposed to uphold the law not re-write it.

    • chipstaggs…

Let’s hope sanity will prevail, and they won’t re-write it.

I’ve heard it’s supposed to be sometime in June when we know the decision, so that will be here before ya know it.

I just pray the whole danged thing is tossed in the garbage heap that it is.

  16. Oh my gosh..I just heard something funny as hell, Hannity just said left-winger CNN legal ‘expert’ (not) said yesterdays train-wreck is today’s plane-wreck…he said it was even worse than yesterday…too funny!

    That’s news I can use. ~

  17. No State or Federal government can order a citizen to buy anything. Why do these judges have a problem striking down this treasonous law. As of old FDR to today, the Federal Government has been ordering it’s citizens to enter the federal tax funded Medicare/partA&B. Once disabled or of age for eligibility, the Federal govenment will prevent it’s citizens from purchacing ANY free market health insurance coverage otherwise.
I say, ditch all Federal tax funded health insurance programs. Our budget is Dead On Arrival already. People will take care of their own health responsibilities, as it should be. As in “We The People”.

  18. Pelosi: “We need to pass this bill so we can see what’s in it.”

SCOTUS: “We need to strike down this bill so we can see what’s unconstitutional about it.”

  19. Here’s where lefty know it all for CNN Jeffrey Toobin said today was a Plane-Wreck compared to yesterdays Train-Wreck.

    Ya gotta love it folks.

  20. Anyone happened to have just listen to Mark Levin and the clip from Alito today?

Just curious…I’m more and more thinking OCare is DOA!

  21. We all ought to know better than to get too excited, this supreme court has made some pretty stupid decisions in the past, we will find out the final ruling at the end of JUne

    pray often till then

  22. WE all need to send Donald Verilli a thank you email, for totally bombing , wahooooo

now for getting Husseins birth cert and selective service card in the news

    • Dano…

I already sent my thanks to him as well today, via Snail Mail…he should get it about the time we have the SCOTUS decision handed down.

I think my timing is perfect. 😉

  23. It’s going to come down to Kennedys’ perception that the left has better cocktail parties. He knows that he will become a pariah if he does the right thing. The fate of this country is going to hinge on the vanity of one man!

  24. NvMtnOldMan says:

All that is needed is for a Repub with some guts to put up a bill in congress that if passed would stipulate that everyone will be on Obamacare and I mean everyone including congress, administration,
SCOTUS, all govt workers, and no waivers to any person or group. This would kill it in a second.

    • Good-Morning NvMtnOldMan ….

If memory serves me right…I think the House tried that, can’t remember if it passed or not, but if it did we know Dingy Harry would never bring it up on the Senate floor. ~

  25. I’m against all Mandates. Whether its the federal government forcing me to purchase health insurance or the state trying to force me to have an unnecessary ultra sound.

    Down with Mandates!

  26. Spurwing Plover says:

  27. If they don;t strike this POS down I think we will see Civil Disobedience in greater numbers than Prohibition..

  28. Here’s something to ponder…especially with Kagan.

    Time will tell.

The comments were what was interesting to me in this case. ~

  29. Check this out…unbelievable.
