One of the political talk shows I caught last Sunday had my ears perked up…simply because it had to with what democrat Kirsten Powers had to say about Dear Leader and the possibility of him actually nominating U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice to take Shrillary Clintoons place in the State Dept…I’m glad I saved this, for one reason and one reason only…so far what she stated may turn out to be true in more ways than one if Dear Leader goes ahead and nominates her.
First off we’ll start off what she stated…then we’ll go to what’s happened since Sunday with our congress-critters in the Senate.
Here’s Kirsten Powers…you can read it in full here. She says nominating Rice could be Dear Leader’s undoing!
During a Fox News Sunday discussion on a potential Obama nomination of U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice as a replacement for Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Fox News liberal commentator Kirsten Powers said that a Rice selection could be Obama’s “undoing.”
Neoconservative commentator Bill Kristol suggested Rice could be a decent selection in his mind because, when compared with Sen. John Kerry‘s wishy-washy stance on getting involved in international conflicts, the U.N. Ambassador tends to lean a bit more in favor of the type of international interventionism that Kristol desires.
Asked directly whether she believes President Barack Obama will select Rice to replace Clinton, Powers said bluntly: “I don’t know, though I think if he does, that kind of arrogance — which is what I think it would be — could be his undoing.”
She explained further: “If she is put under oath and forced to go through and answer all these questions about Benghazi, I think it’s going to put the administration in a really bad position.”
Powers also contested the notion that Rice was ever the frontrunner for Clinton’s position, saying that from “everything I’d heard, it was that she was in the running but it was leaning more towards John Kerry. And then we have this press conference where the president just kind of went off about Susan Rice, and it’s now become almost a sense of pride.”
“You think he cornered himself in that press conference?” host Chris Wallace asked. “Now if he doesn’t name her, he looks like he’s caving?”
“I think he did,” Powers responded. “I don’t know that it was intentional. And I know that he went a little overboard.”
She concluded by reiterating her main point that nominating Rice would be more trouble than it’s worth: “If he wants to send her up on the Hill and put her under oath and have her answer every single question this administration will not answer over Benghazi… go for it.”
In recent months, Powers has been one of the few Democrats to be openly critical of President Obama’s handling of the Benghazi attacks, and recently called his press conference defense of Rice to be “sexist” and “silly.”
Since then much has happened since Rice decided to march herself to Capitol Hill trying to persuade congress-critters in the Senate on our side of the aisle she really didn’t intentionally put out false information on five Sunday talk-shows when it came to what happened in Benghazi on Sept. 11th when four of our Americans were brutally murdered by terrorists at the consulate. So far what she’s spewed has fallen on deaf ears…these senators don’t believe her excuses, lies for one minute…in fact, it’s been met with more questions that she’s going to need to answer when it comes to the big picture of things regarding this issue.
Here’s a great report from yesterday…this includes all videos of what was said by each member yesterday, if interested in the videos you need to click this link. ‘GOP Senators Slam Susan Rice After Benghazi Meeting‘:
The Republican Senators who met with U.S. Ambassador Susan Rice Tuesday sharply criticized the White House’s likely nominee for Secretary State following the meeting.
“We are significantly troubled by many of the answers that we got and some that we didn’t get,” Sen. John McCain (R., Ariz.) said after the meeting, which was convened at Ambassador Rice’s request.
Sens. Kelly Ayotte (R., N.H.) and Lindsey Graham (R., S.C.) emphasized they were more concerned today about the administration narrative and Ambassador Rice than they were before the meeting.
“I’m more convinced than ever that it was bad, it was unjustified, to give the scenario presented by Ambassador Rice and President Obama three weeks before an election,” Graham said.
“I’m more troubled today, knowing–having met with the acting director of the CIA and Ambassador Rice,” Ayotte said, “because it’s certainly clear from the beginning that we knew that those with ties to al Qaeda were involved in the attack on the embassy.”
“Clearly the impression that was given–the information given to the American people was wrong,” she continued. “In fact, Ambassador Rice said today absolutely it was wrong.”
Here’s one video from FNI, you can read about all here:
Lastly….here’s good ol’ lap dog Jay Carney for the Master of Disaster yapping away and lying as usual. – You can read it in full here:
Despite Republican senators saying they have even more concerns following their meeting with UN Ambassador Susan Rice, White House Press Secretary Jay Carney on Tuesday said “there are no unanswered questions about Ambassador Rice’s appearance on Sunday shows.”
“Those questions have been answered,” he said. “The questions that remain to be answered and that the president insists are answered have to do with what happened in Benghazi, who was responsible for the deaths of four Americans, including our ambassador, and what steps we need to take to ensure something like that doesn’t happen again.”
Can you say ‘Cover-Up?’
When it comes down to the wire…do you think Dear Leader will go ahead and nominate Rice no matter what? And if he does do this, do you think what Kirsten Powers predicts will end up ringing true and become Dear Leader’s undoing…or not?
