Dudes and Dudettes…after you read and watch this report, would you please explain to me why in the world this man should have ever lost his job? Seems to me he was defending himself from a bunch of filthy thugs after one of them attacked him first! – This country is upside down…I’ve about had it at times, this is one of them!

See what you think. – This is via TB:

A Texas gas station clerk who shot a man who first punched him in the face has lost his job, the store’s owner said.

Police said the Houston-area Valero station clerk was acting in self-defense when 21-year-old Alexander Calloway and two companions tried to enter the store after hours at 3:30 a.m., KHOU-TV reported. Surveillance video released Tuesday by store owner George Hlaiheo shows Calloway first punching the clerk in the face before the clerk pulls out a gun and opens fire.

Calloway’s companions rushed him to a nearby fire station, after which he was transported to a local hospital where he remains in critical condition, the station reported.

Community members have rallied in front of the store and called for the clerk’s arrest, but Hlaiheo said he stands by his employee’s right to defend himself — except that he no longer works there.

“For the sake of the community, we feel very strongly that he won’t be coming back to work,” Hlaiheo said.

According to KHOU, the same clerk was shot in the leg during a hold-up last year, potentially explaining his armed response.

This man shouldn’t lose his job in any way shape or form. This guy works…something I bet the thugs that are in the story don’t do. In fact…the criminal thugs should be behind bars for a long time, they should lose their freedom! The owner of the station should have defended him to the hilt, not let him go, or fire him! Nothing like political pressure from a handful of losers in this scenario…of course the race-card issue is used here as well, we all know it…no matter how subtle the reports try to portray this. Self-defense should be first and foremost…simple as that.

Seeing that this man has been shot before during a hold-up, still held a dangerous job instead of being on the government dole…he should be held in high esteem, he should be given some kind of award! – What say you?

Side-note: I just read where the ‘Black Panthers‘ were involved with the protest against the clerk…they called for his arrest! ~ You need to read about it here.

  1. Store owners a loser who is afraid his business is going to be hurt. It appears to me that being black in this area gives ya rights to hit people with no recourse. A fist in the face can be as deadly as a gun. Since the dude hit the clerk 1st the clerk had to believe he was going to be hurt again by the dude and his friends. I would assume that fear for your life or great bodily harm would justify the shooting, but being black these days seems to confer some type of immunity to them for illegal actions. I guess racist will be thrown around and the “Just Us” bros will show up here soon. Sharpton and Jackson.

  3. What else are the protected negro activists going to do but march and chant. That punk didn’t have much of a punch, the guys head barely moved.

  4. If anyone sees where there may be some type of support/donations for the guy who was let go by this owner of the gas station because of pressure from the Black Panthers etc…let us know so we can help make it go viral.

Of course as far as I know, no one knows this man’s name yet…it may be he wants to keep it that way for self-protection.

Sad days for American…sad day for the times we are living in.

  6. He shouldn’t have lost his job. I understand why an employer might fire him, (fear of lawsuits against the company), when I worked for High Noon Petroleum (Noon’s) in Missoula, they had a strictly enforced policy which says do nothing to resist, just call the police afterwards. I would have done the same thing this guy did. Defend myself regardless of loosing my job. I wouldn’t want to work for a chicken sh!t like that anyway.

“They that would give up essential liberties to attain a little safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety” that includes safety from lawsuits.

    (0)
    • Threats of lawsuits indeed…until we get real tort reform across this nation, if we ever do…we’ll remain a litigious society. – Which is disgusting in more ways than one…we all know it too.

    • Ah heck Swamp…forget about it, just a bad idea I guess.

      • Since there is no audio, we can’t know what was said. From what is evidenced in the short video, there was a mutual confrontation, about what, one can only guess. I deal in available facts. The fact is, the black guy punched the ‘victim’ in the mouth, and the ‘victim’ responded by shooting him. If that was all a jury had to go on, he would go to jail for attempted manslaughter.

If there is more video, the jury will see it, if it goes that far. I love how people just want to whip out a gun and shoot the place up like John Wayne. For those of you who think like that, you probably shouldn’t own guns.

And FYI, the name on the avatar is MichaelT not Swamp. Just sayin’.

          You’re making sense, man.

          (0)
    • you sir are correct based on what we see in the video,

This store clerk who is obviously of middle eastern or Arabic descent, and working for a Boss who shares his ethnicity. Did in fact answer his assailant far out of proportion to the original assault on his person.

However if a death threat was spoken before the punch then there might be a point of law to argue it was justifiable.

Regardless this incident will be painted as the White Mans fault, even though White Men were not in the vicinity.

Are there any of those Pu$$y A$$ Cracker T-Shirts left over from the Trayvon Fiasco?

      (0)
    • MichealIT
Really? Are you kidding? You shouldnt have the right to shoot an overly aggressive animal? Why not? No one has the right to lay their hands on you.. its assault and could result in your death if he chimps out and keeps beating you.. or if his friends join in.

I aint no punk but I’m not taking chances.. and why should I? To save his life? I don’t think so.. Why should I risk any bodily harm in order to give a proportionate response as you are suggesting?

I dont know about you but I aint Superman anymore.. sure I have been in a few dust ups when I was younger and could hold my own now ( especially agianst a light weight like this one ) but Im not arrogant enough to think I will come out on top of every violent encounter that may come my way.. now days it may cost you your life to loose a fight.

      (0)
      • I’m not saying the clerk did the right thing… he had the punk locked out ( crisis over and danger averted ) so he should have just called the cops. Chances are he may face some jail time because by opening the door to argue he brought the encounter to a lethal point… I think the clerk did society a favor but he better get a good lawyer

        (0)
      • Overly aggressive? It was one punch, and a weak one at that. Your second comment makes my case. I look at these things the way a court of law would see it. He let the guy in, he escalated the confrontation with the head butt and with whatever words were spoken between the two. And, it’s on video.

I guess what I meant to say is, if you’re going to shoot someone, be smart about it.

        (0)
        • I have to agree with you in this case… it looked to be an argument that escalated to the point of a physical confrontation and the clerk could have easily avoided it but CHOSE to open the door. Oh well, bottom line is I wont shed a tear over either one of them… good riddance as far as I’m concerned

          (0)
          • Oh well, bottom line is I wont shed a tear over either one of them… good riddance as far as I’m concerned Vince

I’d have to agree with you there.

  8. He has to be fired it was not punishment. The business must protect it’s self from being burned out or fire bombed. They can not survive sustained picketting and marching. The clerck can never go back to work at that buisness. He has been shot once and to continue working would be a death sentence.
I think the business is Middle Eastern or Indian owned. The clerk will find employment with the extended family network at one of their other businesses.

    (0)
    • I hope he does…at least he’s a worker, not a taker. I have nothing but admiration for this man, he’s already been thru hell and back. – America is in a sad shape. There are many days I can’t believe this is the country I grew up in.

      (0)
    • It’s funny how those people can come here and start businesses, (no irony in the fact that the shooter is middle eastern, and works in the petroleum trade) while Americans are struggling to survive. Funny like a suicide bomber. Haha

      (0)
      • Why are you defending the no good low-life thugs who started this…and the Black Panthers who were the protesters? – I don’t get it with you. I don’t care who is what that were involved in this…I care about self defense being defended first and foremost.

        (0)
        • Where do you get that I am defending the thug? Details please.

The clerk opened the door and invited the confrontation to escalate.

      • Swamp,

I say the same thing… where are you coming from these days??????????

        (0)
        • The only thing that matters here is how it will be perceived by a jury, if it gets that far. The thug is among the ‘protected class’ or have you all not noticed that yet? I’m not absolving the goddamd ni**&^. Get over attacking me, and see the reality for what it is. You cannot just shoot these people and expect the judicial system to work as designed.

I’ll say it again. The clerk opened the door, and escalated the confrontation with the ‘I’m a bad ass head butt’. He got punched in the mouth, and decided the appropriate response was to shoot the guy. We are not living in the old west where someone accuses you of cheating at poker, and then you shoot him.

And f*** the Black Panthers, they are not part of this, they came afterward. I don’t give a rats ass about the guy who got shot. I really don’t care if he lives or dies. But you all need to take a serious look at what constitutes self defense. If you think this was self defense,…

          (0)
    • MuayTyson,

Is it not amazing that you say the clerk needs to be fired to protect the business from being burned out or fire bombed. I do agree for his safety, he should find employment at a different location… would such an employee need to be fired or relocated if this was in a white community and the assaulter was white??????????

Does your statement not say something about the black community… as I’ve always said, what do blacks contribute in a positive way to our society??????

The clerk shouldn’t lose his job. He did what was right at the time and under the circumstances. His actions were defensive in nature, and especially so in light of a previous violent encounter in which he was shot in the leg.

“Community members have rallied in front of the store and called for the clerk’s arrest” – Translation: A group of unemployed and disgruntled Blacks and other ‘minorities’ want the White clerk arrested because he dared to defend himself against one of our ‘brothas’ when he tried to rob the store! How dare Whitey defend himself! The White man is supposed to cower, be ashamed of himself and submit to the Black man whenever he shows up!

    • Exactly right…and those protesting were from the Black Panther party as well. (link inside blog post.)…nevertheless, that alone speaks volumes. – It’s disgusting they won….again. I’m sure AG Holder is pleased.

      (0)
    • I don’t think he is white… just saying. Looks to be of middle eastern descent. The irony I find in this is that blacks shoot each other every night and not a peep from these so-called activist.. 12. BT,

Saw this on Drudge today… same thing I asked myself, why is this man losing his job. Then I saw the video and it explained all… the young man needs to be a professional fighter because he can definitely take a punch.

One thing for sure… one less thug in America as he lays on his death bed in critical condition.

    • Howdy Paul…

I just hope nothing more happens to the clerk. Can you imagine being held up and shot before at your place of work, then being confronted by these three thugs and punched in the face? – Walk a mile in this man’s moccasins, at least he works…that’s more than I will ever say for thugs like these, no matter the race.

  13. I think we have to examine this from another perspective……that of an intellectual perspective……..

The Negra race is to say….. is an abnormality………with a brillo pad for hair…. clown like lips……a nostril on each cheek……. violent animal instincts both male an female…….blotchy black skin…….humongous rumps…….and a jungle mentality……..

The Negra race seems to be out of place in a civilized world…….

Now with that in mind is it no wonder that the “spear-chucker race” is a resentful and violent race of underachieving, underclass citizens of the world………

Since the race called “The White Man’s Burden” doesn’t have the ability to live in a civilized society we must begin to rethink where to relocate this modern day societal burden……The experiment of bringing tree dwellers into a modern society seems to have failed…..and failed miserably……..

I think it best to relocate these natural tree dwellers to the jungles of the Congo where those who have just begun to walk upright can feel more at home……….

As an incentive for relocation…..Free bananas for all if they relocate to the Congo…………..

    • You don’t know me…you don’t know if I have or have not been involved in a life or death situation such as this only in a different form. You have no idea what can happen when defending oneself from being in grave danger themselves within seconds during the whole scenario and all involved in it..especially if you’re the specific target…and in semi-shock at the time. Don’t think the law doesn’t have it wrong in many states, they do. Self defense is self defense…period.

    • MichaelT,

In one of the accounts I read, apparently there were two other men with this thug who were armed with weapons.

I for one find it amazing as I watch the nightly news each night here in Kansas City… night after night, convenience stores are robbed and all the robbers who show up on video are black. Hmmmmm, think we got a little problem with blacks in America. Maybe and just maybe, blacks might excel in school or jobs if there own race didn’t label them “Uncle Toms” for doing so.

      (0)
    • When you’ve seen a liquor store clerk being taken to an ambulance with bullet holes bleeding from chest in Chicago and later hearing on the radio his death, then frankly, you will understand that there is NO substitute for overwhelming violence when it comes to defending your life. Why do you think so many Black politicians support gun control? It’s to insure Black thugs rule the streets and all other races must cower in fear of them AND the cops who will arrest you for UUW in Chicago, a FELONY.

      (0)
      • Excellent illustration, Koba.

        (0)
      • The clerk was defending his life? He got punched in the mouth! My f***ing sister can punch harder than that.

And please don’t talk to me like I am some wet behind the ears neophyte. I was a Firefighter EMT for ten years, and a deputy sheriff for two, I have seen what people do to each other.

        (0)
        • Dude, I’ve been put in the hospital from Black “youth” attacks. I could really care less what cops or ex-cops consider the expedient response when a Black thug punched them in the mouth. I consider shooting someone who punches them in the head a 100 percent appropriate response; you may consider that excessive because YOU think someone should retreat or wait for an escalation of violence i.e. YOU sustain more personal damage to your body. Well, by all means conduct yourself in a combat situation as such; it’s your life to risk. I will on any jury vote to acquit a person who did not provoke violence and hope everyone else will too.

          (0)
          • I would vote to acquit as well. ~ Enough already.

This reminds me of the Zimmerman/Martin case in some ways…of course there wasn’t a death here, but I figure you get my meaning.

            (0)
        • I agree with Joe in this part… one punch is all that it takes. You have no idea what comes next.. it could go very badly for you without an immediate response.. I will never give an animal like this the benefit of the doubt.. he swings and I’m shooting.. not taking chances.. It’s easy to armchair quarterback this one because you have the benefit of seeing a video AFTER the fact. I would rather be tried by 12 than carried by 6

          (0)
          • I’m with you Vince. MichaelT/Swamp can say and impress us with being a cop and what the appropriate response should have been, but this thug got what he deserved in my opinion. And one step further… if this were my son who got shot and I saw the video, I certainly would not be out protesting the convenience store where it happened.

Well, some of us have experienced plenty of… “gun play”

I had my fill of it after a few deployments to Iraq with the 3rd Infantry Division

Cant tell you how many times we heard of soldiers surviving multiple deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan without a scratch just to return home and get assaulted or even killed by some low life thug like that.. sure some of the soldiers were young and stupid so they brought it on themselves but many were just in the wrong place at the wrong time.

From the way the very same white liberals I personally know who voted for Obama speak about blacks, it’s coming, even from them. However, it’s extremely ironic that they support a leader who is only adding to the problem by ensuring black students are not punished for even violent behavior and by ensuring more and more people of all colors are on food stamps.

The clerk opened the door (first mistake)
Then he stepped to the thug with his hands down (second mistake)
So, no he shouldn’t have shot the guy,
his head went to the right after being hit, he should have come back with a right uppercut and closed the door. He had back up standing there with him.

    (0)
    • That is how I saw it as well, this store clerk overreacted in the eyes of the law.

However how much of this community came out to protest the violence when their local store was robbed and the clerk shot in the leg.

You and I know the answer

      Zero

      (0)
      • Did you see the self righteous protesters? Sharpton types with some beret wearing clowns going all militant.
Blacks murder peopel evry day in “whats’ left of America”. I don’t see them protesting.
Their angelic victim “got shot”, what’s the big deal, it happens every day in the hood?

        (0)
    • Good observation Edtudo. I often get hammered here because I look at things from a legal standpoint. I put myself in the victims place and ask myself, how am I going to defend what I did in court? I was trained to look at these things from a logical view.
Emotions run high. People know my stance on guns and self defense. Or maybe they don’t. Shooting someone even if it is justified, is a life changing event.

Self defense is so much more than carrying a gun and using on someone.

  28. It’s funny how folks will turn on you if you have a different opinion than them. This has happened many times on this blog, yet I keep coming back here.

Vince, thank you for your service, glad you made it home. I’m not going to stick around and get beat up because I see things differently. The personal attacks are for high school kids, not adults. I only based my comments on what I saw in the video, and nothing more. Others folks here saw armed accomplices, and danger everywhere.

Paul B, your sophomoric comment is not even worth a response.

MichaelT/Swamp can say and impress us with being a cop and what the appropriate response should have been, Paul B

    @Joe Stalin

“Dude”? Really? Sorry you got ‘put in the hospital’.

Let me know when you all want to start the revolution, I didn’t buy all these guns so they can sit and collect dust.

In the meantime, I’ll pray for peace, and hope it doesn’t all fall apart, I’m kind of used to the status quo. Not really interested in revolution.

  29. Its really hard to see who started this as there appears to be no audio, however the punch throw was the escalation point not the opening of the door. The guy outside could have threatened to cause serious property damage or what ever, only the witness inside and outside can clarify that and thats why the door was opened. Just cause some guy hits you doesn’t mean you have to hit him back as a means of stopping the physical assault. You use whatever means you have to stop it immediately, fists are deadly weapons and the guy got hit hard, its not a hollyweird hit where he spins around. I’ve been in and seen fights with bare fists and the guy got hit really hard and probably lost some teeth. I believe he had the right to shoot to stop the fight as he had no idea if it was going to get worse. Gotta wait to here the witnesses though and the whole tape not the short version. I also did not see any head butt?
