Have you heard about this story yet? You’d have to wonder what good ol’ Bob Costas would think about James Gerow defending himself and family…then again, who really cares what Costas thinks about anything at this stage of his game. Nevertheless…you have to get a kick about this dumb burglar and what he did after he was confronted by James Gerow and his handy-dandy firearm.

See what you think. – This is via TB:

A Texas burglary suspect called 911 early Tuesday morning to report that a homeowner was holding him at gunpoint and threatening to shoot him, KDFW reports.

Homeowner James Gerow said he awoke at around 12:30 a.m. and found a man wearing dark clothes and a hoodie inside his Springtown home. He then retrieved his legally owned gun and followed the man out to a truck that was parked in his driveway.

Wielding his firearm, Gerow ordered the suspected burglar to give him the keys to the vehicle and told his wife to call 911 while he held the suspect at gunpoint.

“Yeah, hurry up now. He says my husband’s fixing to shoot him,” she reportedly told the dispatcher.

The burglary suspect was later identified as 41-year-old Christopher Lance Moore. Parker County Sheriff Larry Fowler said Moore also called 911 for help while he was in his pickup truck.

“I’m not sure. I’m out in the country somewhere and some guy’s got a gun on me,” he said on the emergency call, conveniently leaving out why he found himself looking into the barrel of a gun.

I pointed the gun at him and asked him who he is and what the hell he was doing in my house,” Gerow said. “He said his name was Lance, and I said, ‘Lance, what the hell are you doing in my house?’…And he said, ‘unlucky.’ Just unlucky.”

Moore was later arrested for burglary of habitation, a second-degree felony.

Gerow, the homeowner, said Moore admitted to investigators that he had “bad intentions.”

“I gave him a chance…Had he said he had bad intentions before that, he wouldn’t have got his second chance. That’s a different ballgame. You threaten me and my family, that’s a different ballgame,” Gerow added.

This homeowner may have more problems. Some scumbag lawyer will probably sue Mr. Gerow for causing his poor, defenseless client mental distress, humiliation and suffering. That is worth a few million dollars.

    • dirtydog…

Nothing would surprise me when it comes to our sue-happy nation…but in this case, methinks that would go nowhere in this case. – Then again, I could be wrong.

Btw…this guy has a long past record to-boot. Should have saved the link where I saw that…but you get the drift. 😉

    • So let’s see the homeowner counter-sue the burglar for inflicting mental distress on him and his family.

    • Meet the 7-year old and the bungling father. Why do you never publicise these kind of cases?

      • A horrible case, I totally agree with you. But guns don’t have a will of their own. I think the dumb ass who doesn’t know how to handle a gun is to blame, don’t you agree? Survival of the fittest, and dumb asses should not reproduce anyway.
What about vehicles, by the way? Dumb asses drive them too. Should we restrict the usage and who will decide?

Dead burglars can’t sue. Maybe their families can, but they can’t.

  3. Glad to see a burglar get his just rewards………by the looks of this piece-of-sh!t he is a career criminal…….lock his ass up for an extended stay…….

I wonder what would have happened if this home owner did not have a gun to protect himself and his family with……….

It’s too bad that we can’t get all the crooks that rob and steal from us by just pointing a gun at them………..I mean the one’s that live and “”work”” in Washington DC…..like Obongo and the thieving democrats that are stealing our money and pissing it away and are lying their asses off about it to us……..

  4. ugh.. stupid white trash. Probably a meth addict

The home owner had every right to shoot his sorry ass but it’s probably for the best that he didn’t. Our society always defends criminals and make excuses for them at the expense of the victims and their rights.

I have two rotties with aggressive territorial tendencies and ADT security… and one of my many buddies, Sig Sauer on the nightstand. This jackass burglar got off easy

You can tell Mr. Gerow is cool – he’s wearing a Texas Aggies sweatshirt. The peckerhead perpetrator looks like a denizen of Austin’s Warehouse District.

    • Yeppers…and did you see the picture the headboard in their bedroom as well?

      • Snake Oiler says:

And the Rangers, too. But this is definitely the year for A&M and Johnny Football, who most likely will win the Heisman Trophy. Sooners and Aggies in the Cotton Bowl – I can’t wait.

  8. I wish the guy had run. Then the kid could have killed him with the shotgun, and he would have really had something to tell the kids at school.

This burglar is likly to get some liberal rotten leftists journalists to write a big sob piece in some sleazie liberal news rag/birdcage linner claiming he was a abused kid when he was little since theres always a few stupid liberal journalists looking to get the pulizer for some fake story

  10. Mr. Gerow should have shot him anyway, the guy is white. It’s ok to kill white burglars right? Not a protected species. He probably could have shot and killed him, and then dragged him behind his truck out there in the middle of nowhere, and nobody would give a shit. Just a f***ing white trash piece of shit anyway, who cares?

But if it was a nigga, wait a minute now. Al Sharpton and Jessa Jackson would be all over it like white on rice.

Lock Your Doors And Prepare To Defend Your Family

Do you think that is an alarmist headline? Well, I am not the one saying this. Law enforcement authorities all over the country are telling citizens that they can no longer deal with all the crime and that people need to lock their doors and prepare to defend their families. Just recently, the city attorney of San Bernardino, California told citizens to “lock their doors and load their guns” because there is not enough money to pay for adequate police protection any longer. The murder rate in San Bernardino is up 50 percent this year, but the city is dealing with bankruptcy and has been forced to lay off 80 police officers. But San Bernardino is not the only city dealing with this kind of a thing. In Oakland, burglaries are up 43 percent so far this year, and to say that there is a “crime wave” going on in Oakland would be a massive understatement. If you can believe it, in Oakland “more than 11,000 homes, cars or businesses have been broken into so far this year – translating to about 33 burglaries a day.” Sadly, there simply are not enough police to keep up with it all. Due to budget cuts, it is being projected that by February the size of the police force in Oakland will be about 25 percent smaller than it was back in 2008. But what is happening in Detroit is perhaps even more frightening. Today there are about 1,000 fewer police officers in Detroit than there was a decade ago. But crime just continues to rise. So now even the police are telling people to “enter Detroit at your own risk”. With very little police protection, an increasing number of citizens are taking matters into their own hands. As I noted in a previous article, justifiable homicide in the city of Detroit increased by 79 percent in 2011, and the rate of self-defense killings in Detroit is approximately 2200 percent above the national average. But don’t laugh at what is happening in cities like San Bernardino, Oakland and Detroit. What is happening in those cities will be coming to your community soon enough.
