I’m telling you friends…there are days like this when you just want to blow all the gaskets you have left that are in working order out…and this is one of them! In case some of you who may not know, and for some who may not remember…I have posted about this ‘Whiz-bang-Deluxe’ before, you should take a peek at this story here.

Here’s the report…read and listen to this leftist-loon, see what you think about what comes out of that ‘progressive’ mouth of his! – This is via FN&C:

Charles Osgood, the host of CBS Sunday Morning, shocked many viewers when he introduced a segment that called for the abolishment of the U.S. Constitution.

“Is the U.S. Constitution truly worthy of the reverence in which most Americans hold it,” Osgood asked his viewers.

He then introduced Georgetown University Professor Louis Michael Seidman — who launched into a lengthy essay bashing the Founding Fathers and the Constitution.

“I’ve got a simple idea: Let’s give up on the Constitution,” he said.

Seidman is a professor of Constitutional Law at Georgetown. He said Constitutional disobedience is “as American as apple pie.”

“If we are to take back our own country, we have to start making decisions for ourselves, and stop deferring to an ancient and outdated document,” he said.

The segment ended without any objections from Osgood.

(CBS News) Is the U.S. Constitution truly worthy of the reverence in which most Americans hold it? A view on that from Louis Michael Seidman, Professor of Constitutional Law at Georgetown University:

I’ve got a simple idea: Let’s give up on the Constitution.

I know, it sounds radical, but it’s really not. Constitutional disobedience is as American as apple pie.

For example, most of our greatest Presidents — Jefferson, Lincoln, Wilson, and both Roosevelts — had doubts about the Constitution, and many of them disobeyed it when it got in their way.

To be clear, I don’t think we should give up on everything in the Constitution. The Constitution has many important and inspiring provisions, but we should obey these because they are important and inspiring, not because a bunch of people who are now long-dead favored them two centuries ago.

Unfortunately, the Constitution also contains some provisions that are not so inspiring. For example, one allows a presidential candidate who is rejected by a majority of the American people to assume office. Suppose that Barack Obama really wasn’t a natural-born citizen. So what?

Constitutional obedience has a pernicious impact on our political culture. Take the recent debate about gun control. None of my friends can believe it, but I happen to be skeptical of most forms of gun control.

I understand, though, that’s not everyone’s view, and I’m eager to talk with people who disagree.

But what happens when the issue gets Constitutional-ized? Then we turn the question over to lawyers, and lawyers do with it what lawyers do. So instead of talking about whether gun control makes sense in our country, we talk about what people thought of it two centuries ago.

Worse yet, talking about gun control in terms of constitutional obligation needlessly raises the temperature of political discussion. Instead of a question on policy, about which reasonable people can disagree, it becomes a test of one’s commitment to our foundational document and, so, to America itself.

This is our country. We live in it, and we have a right to the kind of country we want. We would not allow the French or the United Nations to rule us, and neither should we allow people who died over two centuries ago and knew nothing of our country as it exists today.

If we are to take back our own country, we have to start making decisions for ourselves, and stop deferring to an ancient and outdated document.

Do any of you have a message for Osgood, Louis Michael Seidman and all their ilk…or not?

Give up on the Constitution and replace it with what? Naive liberal opinion? The snarky comments of Professor Louis Seidman? The incoherent ramblings of Al Sharpton? Communist social-political philosophy? Yeah, that really worked well in the old Soviet Union, didn’t it? No, I will trust the true and tried wisdom of our Founding fathers who, collectively, had more wisdom and practical insight about the proper role and limitations of government than all the Ivy League professors put together from Harvard, Yale, and Georgetown University.

That this so-called professor would openly call for us to give up on the Constitution – and actually be taken seriously – tells us something about the kind of time period we live in. The liberals are coming out of the woodworks now to say what they’ve always believed, but they feared the disapproval they would receive from most Americans. That’s no longer the case! The old America has died. Welcome to the new America.

  2. This really sounds familiar lets see, I believe it was from the history channel. I believe it was Germany around 1932 when the german constitution was all but destroyed! Now could somebody please remind me how many lives were lost during this time frame between 1932 and 1945. Lets not forget the USSR and CHINA and how many PESENT lives were removed from the face of the earth! A wise man once said that “You can only look into the eye’s of the future, by standing on the shoulders of the past” I truly hope and pray that history does not repeat itself. Molon labe!

  3. Dr Poontang says:

Charles Osgood, we the people hereby find you guilty of treason.

CBS SUNDAY MORNING just another liberal leftists propeganda Frankly Osgood needs a whole new career like cleaning up trash from Central Park and eberyone needs to simply Boycott CBS SUNDAY MORNING and let them know why

  5. We don’t need to give up the constitution, just amend it to make it stronger… Like no more insider trading on the floor of congress, or stronger individual liberty such as the protection of gay unions.

    • Oh puhleeze….you’re as bad as they are.

Btw….according to how you feel about illegal immigrants with all your care and concern, why don’t you include that in how you’d like to amend the Constitution as well.

      • I am not understanding your reference about immigration and amending the constitution. But if you mean a constitutional amendment to address immigration, no I don’t think that is necessary. The laws just need to be clarified and enforced.

        • I was referring to you comment from last night on the McAmnesty thread below:

“I meant to be able to keep commenting today but got too busy. I just think everyone is acting like this is the end of the world. It is not. We are a nation of immigrants. More should be welcome. They are seeking freedom for themselves or their families, why do you deserve freedom, yet they don’t? Because you were born here?

Freedom, for these immigrants, is arguably a harder fought struggle than any reader here has likely endured. Imagine being the citizen of a country with a tyrannical government, with your neighboring country being a beacon of freedom. What would you do for you and your family?

In case it wasn’t clear, which it wasn’t, based on the lack of response, but you are all acting like this is the end of the world, and so my last comment was in mockery of some of the things I have read on this site. You people are so quick to label people traitors, and mooches, but you people act like nazis most the time.”

We need a amendment in the constitution that would end americas membership in this wretched UNITED NATIONS abolish all BIOSHEAR RESERVES,WORLD HERRATAGE SITES, PROPHIBIT AMERICAN MILITARY PERSONEL AS UN PEACE KEEPERS,BAN FORGIEN OWNERSHIP OF ANY PLACE IN AMERICA and BAN AMERICAN MILTARY PERSONEL FROM BEING COMMENDED BY FOREIGN COMMANDERS Its time to pull out of this wretched UN had the entire UN facility raized and turned into a BIRD REFUGE with Goose Hunting allowed

  7. Of course he hates the constitution, Seidman is a member of the TRIBE that dare not be named. When whites become a minority the constitution will be irrelevant anyway.

  8. Boy o boy is it time to “clean out” our USA from avowed communists and people like this man. Yeah,,,free speech.
Don’t know how it can be done, but this USA will never get back on an “even Keel” until our politics are straightened up.

  9. Let them talk. Our enemies are exposing themselves. Take note.

  10. Ya gotta love this!

You can be sure Seidman and ilk don’t like something like that. ~

  11. Oh brother…check the first link out, then proceed to the second one. You’ll understand the connection immediately.

    See what happens here ~

  13. I hear the same sh1t from my CA liberal co-workers all the time. They have said plain as day that “the Constitution is outdated.” Really? That’s funny… because a lot of people, even in our government and the courts (still) seem to be under the impression that it is the supreme law of the land. Of course they never have any ideas of what it should be replaced with. Then again, we all can pretty much guess what they would say. Those that have the stones to say it aloud, that is.

I havnt watchs B.S. SUNDAY MORNING in years and frankly i never will

  15. A poem
    by A K Fielding

“What difference does it make?!” demanded Hilly of Johnson
Uttering the tragic words that rang across the room into the hearts of all Americans

What difference does it make indeed
Four American heroes are dead and the hearts of their families still bleed

    What difference does it make
Whether Americans vote or eat government cake

What difference does it make if people must use healthcare that kills
As long as the government can tell you how to pay the insurance bills

What difference does it make to crucify Christ again
There are plenty of trees to hug and earth to freeze all in vain

What difference does it make if innocent children are dead
A crisis must not be wasted but used to squash the rights of Americans under the guise of moving ahead

What difference does it make if they trample the Constitution all over
So long, as the liberals have hope to give it a new makeover

What difference does it make that women head to the front lines while men remain behind
As long as we go forward and change the course of humankind

What difference does it make that our children forget their history
Even as the politicians in Washington remain obscure to our misery

What difference does it make that our enemies scoff and laugh at us
So long as we can help them and negotiate our future with the one who is most preposterous

What difference does it make when the economy collapses
Hope and change will still have moved the masses

“What difference does it make?” you say?
It makes a big difference to me and to all those who still believe in the USA.

  16. majorityofone says:

Here’s a really radical idea. How about governing the country according to the Constitution. It is a pretty simple document. Even I can understand it and that way we can do away with Constitutional Law professors.

45-70 Govt. The only government you can trust.

  17. It is pretty simple, the Constitution is a contract; it is a contract from the past to the future; a contract that simply says that the rights for which the revolution of 1776 was fought are guaranteed to the people who follow. A contract that simply says ‘these are things that the government we created are forever forbidden to take from the people of the future.’
That is the deal, pure and simple.
Now, like typical spoiled libs, they want to change the contract; to say that the men who wrote it never foresaw things like the internet; so the freedoms they guaranteed us do not apply, because the technical shape of objects has changed.
Well, quill pen, manual printing press, or Dell Keyboard -guess what; the contract did not give us ‘the right to free speech, written with a twelve inch goose quill, humanely plucked, and sharpened as described in Fig. 10-3 of appendix A’ -it simply guarantees the RIGHT OF FREE SPEECH -which twerps like osgood would screech to high heaven if you abridged THEIR right to.
This is why he says ” To be clear, I don’t think we should give up on everything in the Constitution…” -Right, just the things You don’t happen to like, eh *professor*?
Which brings us to this gem ” So instead of talking about whether gun control makes sense in our country, we talk about what people thought of it two centuries ago.”
Well *professor* what those people two centuries ago thought of ‘gun control’ happens to be what gives You the right to spew nonsense from your fat disgusting face. And what they thought of ‘gun control’ is pretty well spelled out in every one of their writings, that the People of this country had the right to own ANY WEAPON THAT THE ARMY COULD OWN.
Although he does get one thing almost right; ” This is our country. We live in it, and we have a right to the kind of country we want…”
You’re right, and we want a country where oligarchical collectivism or whatever faddish brand of -ism happens to be temporarily ‘cool’ cannot just go and change the rules to suit their agenda at any time they please. We want a stable country where we KNOW that our great grandchildren will get to enjoy the VERY SAME FREEDOMS OUR GREAT GRANDPARENTS ENJOYED. If you take that away, and destroy the CONTRACT; you destroy EVERYTHING about America.
Georgetown should have lost their accreditation the moment they hired this blovating turd as a Constitutional Law professor.
    What a joke.

  18. I think the Constitution is one of the most brilliant documents ever written.Too bad Obama apparently hasn’t read it,or some so called constitutional law ” perfessers”

If osgood dont like the constitution then why dont he leave after all its this very constitution that gives him the right to spew his daily lies

  20. No problem, just get rid of it! But know that if it happens, I won’t want to hear your BS anymore. Thus, since you will have no rights, just know I may be coming to deprive you of….well I guess you won’t have any rights, so I guess I won’t be depriving you of those. I guess Just know I will be coming to shut your bearded ass up.

  21. I would not want to be in this professor’s classes. He doesn’t believe in a foundation or an organized structure for learning. I call this type of class a bulling session, where only the words of the professor is legal conversation for a good grade. Fall in line or you will not be rewarded with a passing grade. If you really get into my phillosophy, I’ll give you an “A”. How can a person get a degree without having a foundation to stand on? No higher educational university should be allowed to give out PhD’s, to people who have no structural foundation that fit a standard. Don’t we see the same philosophy in many religion? Each religion has it’s own doctrine, and that’s what makes it different. That’s like saying GOD has no foundation or structure to his creation. All schooling should stand for factual info, not theories made by mankind. America’s Constitution is the foundation and structure of our society. It has allow us to feed the world with knowledge and food. Changing the Constitution will change the whole world. These two progressors are trying to take America backwards to a time of provety and hard work. America didn’t have a welfare system at that time. No government controlled society has a welfare program, why do we want to go backwards?

  22. Seeking answers–

Re: latest Hutchinson and Kyl jump on the amnesty bandwagon-

I believe that most GOP members have bought the story that Hispanic voters will restore the GOP to power if hey help them to stay in America and get citizenship. I also believe many GOP Reps and Senators subscribe to the same belief.

    My question-

Why do they not seek border enforcement, enforcement of our immigration laws, requiring ICE to support those laws. Why do they not pursue deportation, fining employers , etc, etc,.

I offer one possibility and wait for others.
They believe that Latinos will enter the GOP if the officials support their crime of invasion.
I believe, as I expressed vulgarly here the other day–
You can hang a pinata from your nuts and let them beat on it until they collapse- they will still be Hispanics, Democrats and La Raza supporters when they are done.

    • Howdy misterb…

I’ve got some things saves since yesterday on this subject, plan on posting about this after a bit of catching up to do here at home etc.
