Dudes and dudettes, I’m sure most of you have heard the news regarding the ban on women in combat being lifted by Sec. of Defense Leon Panetta yesterday. Today he made the big announcement in person for all to see. And of course the White House is pleased, yet they say they were surprised and knew nothing about this….and if you believe that BS you’re stuck on stupid! We all know Panetta did as told via Dear Leader and lawsuits filed from the likes of the ACLU…the leftist-loons win again!

Nevertheless…see where you stand on this issue. I’m going to post Panetta’s announcement, then a debate I watched this morning while having coffee between KT McFarland and Gen. Jack Keene, hope you watch it and see which person you tend to agree with. Neither of them talk over the other, which is a big plus!

First off, here’s Panetta and his side-kick. – This is via The Hill:

Defense Secretary Leon Panetta and Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Gen. Martin Dempsey signed an order rescinding the ban on women serving in combat units Thursday, setting in motion a three-year plan to open up as many as 237,000 positions to female servicemembers.

The Pentagon leaders said that the policy change will not automatically open every combat position to women, but now the onus will be on the services to make the argument why women should not serve in a particular occupation or unit.

“Not everyone is going to be able to be a combat soldier. But everyone is entitled to a chance,” Panetta said before he and Dempsey signed the order that lifted the ban at Thursday’s press briefing.

This is a more detailed report regarding this issue. Plus, make sure you watch the video debate too…it’s well-worth it. – This is via FN:

U.S. military leaders on Thursday formally lifted the ban on women serving in combat positions, with Defense Secretary Leon Panetta saying women have become an “integral part” of the military and have already demonstrated their willingness to fight during the wars of the last decade.

“It’s clear to all of us that women are contributing in unprecedented ways to the military’s mission of defending the nation,” Panetta said.

The change would open hundreds of thousands of front-line positions and potentially elite commando jobs to women. Panetta and Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Gen. Martin Dempsey both approved the change Thursday, and the White House separately said it endorsed the decision.

The groundbreaking move recommended by the Joint Chiefs of Staff overturns a 1994 rule banning women from being assigned to smaller ground combat units. Panetta’s decision gives the military services until January 2016 to seek special exceptions if they believe any positions must remain closed to women.

He argued that women, who already make up 15 percent of the force, have increasingly found themselves in the “reality of combat” during Iraq and Afghanistan. He said not everyone can meet the qualifications to be a combat soldier but that everyone is entitled the opportunity.

“They’re serving in a growing number of critical roles on and off the battlefield,” Panetta said of women. “They have become an integral part of our ability to perform our mission.”

Some front-line military roles may open to women as soon as this year. Assessments for others, such as special operations forces, including Navy SEALS and the Army’s Delta Force, may take longer.

A defense official told the Associated Press that the military chiefs must report back to Panetta with their initial implementation plans by May 15.

Panetta’s move expands the Pentagon’s action nearly a year ago to open about 14,500 combat positions to women, nearly all of them in the Army. This decision could open more than 230,000 jobs, many in Army and Marine infantry units, to women.

Senator John McCain, R-Ariz., said he supports Panetta’s decision.

“The fact is that American women are already serving in harm’s way today all over the world and in every branch of our armed forces,” he said in a statement. “Many have made the ultimate sacrifice, and our nation owes them a deep debt of gratitude.”

The senator also urged the military, and particularly elite special forces units, to ensure they maintain their “rigorous physical standards.”

In recent years the necessities of war propelled women into jobs as medics, military police and intelligence officers that were sometimes attached — but not formally assigned — to units on the front lines.

Panetta is preparing to step down as Obama begins his second term, with former Sen. Charles Hagel nominated to take Panetta’s place.

Here’s Martha MacCallum, Gen. Jack Dempsy and KT McFarland debating this:

So friends, what’s you’re opinion regarding this issue? Do you think this is just another cog in the wheel to weaken the strength of our military…or not? – Fire Away…Inquiring Minds Want to Know!

  1. Spurwing Plover says:

There gose the nation with King Obama the Finks royal orders women will put themselves into danger to appease the New World Order

  2. I think if a woman can meet the standards, she should be able to do combat duty.

  3. Cinnamon Girl says:

Hmm. So, they’re purposefully shrinking our armed forces and have resorted to allowing women on the field of combat. That’s one way I see it. Of course, there is always the overriding situation of equal rights. Now, women will have the right to die for their country alongside the men.

Following this, we’ll see even more of an outcry to end all wars by closing bases, spending less on defense, and bringing more home. Okay. The libertarian in me would like to see less U.S. involvement. BUT, and that’s a big but, I’m not for cutting spending any more than is reasonable. This world is more unstable than ever. I say, let’s take anyone coming home who is willing to continue the fight to protect America, and place them at our southern border.

As for my stand on women on the battlefield, I’m against it in general for the same reason that some women “qualify” to be a firefighter or a beat police officer. They’re more easily overcome by a stronger person or a bigger fire because, and I know this will come as a huge shock, they’re smaller and weaker (in general).

Sometimes I think our leaders are living in some sort of dream world. Only, it’s turning into a nightmare.

    • Speaking of female firefighters, I have had experience with them. They usually have an easier time in training than the guys do. None of the women who were on my department could have dragged an injured firefighter out of harms way if they had to. None of them could back me up on an attack line, 1 3/4 inch without falling down.

Fighting wars, fighting fires, and arresting bad guys is mans work. Not womens work.

      • Agreed MT. Been hearing these proposals for a long time regarding city police and fire. I’ve always asked myself the same question: would I be comfortable if it was ME responding to any given emergency at my house? The answer is NO, without question.

      • I completely agree. Military combat jobs, police and firefighter jobs require superior levels of fitness and strength. Not all males are qualified. In over three decades of cop work and in the airborne infantry, I can count on less than one hand, the females that were worth a shit. Wait and see, the whole physical fitness entrance requirements, testing and training will be adjusted (lowered) to make sure more females pass. King Obama is intent on destroying this country from within and this ridiculous politically correct social experiment is another example. These jihadi camel humpers are already laughing at us, just like they did in Benghazi and Algeria. Just wait till they see some gash trying to kick in a door to their bomb making factory. Maybe they will laugh so hard, that the guys can take care of business.

      • Totally disagree. Your local fire department and police department is nowhere near the size of a military base. You get a broader population of people on a military base. In a broader population you’re going to find women that are tougher than some of the men. Trust me, I’ve served in the Marine Corps with some seriously pussy men.

There’s plenty of “big bad-ass men” that couldn’t handle 130 degrees of Iraqi desert…but there were plenty of women that could. There’s pussy men everywhere and there are some bad-ass women.

I think everyone is equal to serve their country. Just because you’re a male doesn’t mean you have balls. I have a couple of ex-girlfriends I woulda rather had with me in Iraq than some of these under-qualified pussies that were there.

    • I agree with you. There is a guy I worked with and his brother-in-law just came back from Iraq and got called out to Afghanistan. The Govt. is short on military folks. You’ve got more suicides in the military than in civilian population. These guys and gals are overly stressed out.

Regarding combat duty for women, this is nuts. How are you going to feel when they get captured and raped? Also, I agree, physically they are not comparable to men. Yes, there are some gals that are tough, but I’d rather have them in supportive roles in the military. Having been in the military, I can attest that guys and gals are going to get horny and sex and pregnancy will ensue. This is nuts. I’d rather have to masturbate than to have to have my hormones dictating my behavior to another soldier who has eyes for “my gal”. This is kooky social engineering. We are going the way of the Romans and now the weakening of our military is taking place. I’m glad I’m not born today because this America will be a very different place indeed. May not even be called America anymore.

  4. The Soviet Army, at one time, one of the largest militaries in the world did not distinguish between genders. In WW2 there were several well known female snipers, women can get into tighter groups, present a lower silhouette, and have no problem pulling a trigger. There is also nothing preventing a woman from flying an aircraft in pursuit of ground support for Marines, or an Apache helicopter from decimating enemy armor.

Also, the Israeli Defense Force, one of the world’s premier militaries has long gone gender neutral

    • Biff,

Will the women be required to pass the same physical fitness test as the men, or will we lower the standards like we do for women fire fighters and police officers???

      • I do not have that info

However..History has shown us that women can be effective combat assets…

The Soviet Union used women for sniping duties extensively, and to great effect, including Nina Alexeyevna Lobkovskaya and Ukrainian Lyudmila Pavlichenko (who killed over 300 enemy soldiers). The Soviets found that sniper duties fit women well, since good snipers are patient, careful, deliberate, can avoid hand-to-hand combat, and need higher levels of aerobic conditioning than other troops. Women also served as machine gunners, tank drivers, medics, communication personnel and political officers. Manshuk Mametova was a machine gunner from Kazakhstan and was the first Soviet Asian woman to receive the Hero of the Soviet Union for acts of bravery.

        • My Marine daughter was a door gunner on Frogs. So, I’m kinda “double” minded on this subject. Not really for it, but I can’t stand in the way either.

          • Howdy Dirty Al…

Do you know if your daughter agrees with what Panetta and this administration is doing regarding this issue…or not?

And once again, we thank your daughter for her service…eternally.

        • Biff, if our country getting attacked is another story. We don’t have a choice. My Mom was a refugee in Yugoslavia during WWII. She applied to be with the partisans (guerilla opposition to the Nazi’s) during that time. She was 13 years old and refused due to age. Yes, when you are getting attacked, women and young boys will fight. My dad was 15 when he humped a machine gun and saw captured friends with throats slit. You see, when you country is taken over, so are the women. So, they will get picked and raped because as history show, to the victor go the spoils. There is no reason for women to go to battle in other countries. The women of WWII helped the boys out tremendously here at home and abroad in behind lines duties and job manufacturing. So, I don’t get it. I respect your daughter and pray nothing bad happens to her. If I had one and she was in the military, I’d encourage her to do a supportive role instead, but kids are kids!

  5. Is it just me, or does Gen. Dempsey look like a little puppy dog who just got kicked in the ass…

    Btw… I love dogs!

    • Lol Paul, that never once crossed my mind. – I tend to agree with what he had to say.

      • BT,

My point… Dempsey is obligated to be a yes man, or he might not see his full pension. Something tells me deep down as I watched the video, that Dempsey sees this as a bad move for our military.

Btw… since when does America send our young ladies to the front lines to die… worse yet, become a prisoner of war and almost assuredly get raped daily.

        • Exactly…points well made.

We all know where we’re fighting now the enemy has no problem raping the enemy when it comes to men, just imagine what they would do to women.

But hey…the Feminazis and the ACLU crowd are happy-campers, while they sit on their no good leftist asses at home.

    • I don’t know about the General but Panetta looks like the southbound end of a northbound bassett hound. I bet he needs to whistle when he takes a dump.

  6. Israel has had no real problems let it be. Its a distraction from our real problems today, a Dictatorship in the making that needs to be halted right here, right now.

    • I don’t know about that, I heard the IDF has had numerous problems while in combat this morning, wished I could recall where I heard that to find a link. Nevertheless, what was said and I’m paraphrasing here… was that when a woman was hurt during combat three times as many men fighting with them went to their aide compared to the number of men who did the same for a man.

Just a thought, may see if I can find a link later…just wanted to throw that in.

  7. Mr. Grumpus says:

I’m pretty conflicted on this one. If we had a draft military sending our women to die, it would be like genocide against our own people. The sad truth is we need the women alive more than the men. A dead soldier’s wife can find another man with which to reproduce, a bunch of widowed hardlegs will have no such luck. Since we have a volunteer service at the moment, I suppose the women are certainly free to go die if that is their wish. Just remember, a people can rebuild with very few men, as long as there are plenty of women. Just my two cents.

    • Mr. Grumpus,

Does that mean at age sixty-two, I could become a stud… hell!!! life might be worth living after all.

OK folks, don’t get your panties in a wad… those of you who know me here realize I’m just kidding.

  8. Winston Smithereens says:

Any nation who hold their women in such complete contempt as to place the very giver of life (the womb), the primary nurturer of same (mother) within 1000 miles of any combat zone is a nation dedicated toward complete ruination.

Women are the bedrock of society and by way of the pernicious specter of feminism – constructed and led by lesbians – and their allies both within the private and most certainly public sector, the American woman is, as a result of kneeling before this “false god”, a walking disgrace to womanhood, period. This most recent announcement simply furthers same.

Women, once held so high and protected are nothing more today than, “Just one of the guys……….” and my, how it shows. They have only themselves to thank. And, of course, who suffers? Society, naturally.

And when women (womb) on the front line (you gonna take point, honey….?) wind up being shot left and right, slaughtered…….., not only will they be deficating from every available orifice and then some and beyond panic stricken, the machine as it were will brake down not that it wasn’t already as a chain is only as strong as its weakest link. Not very effective against any adversary. In equal breath intimidating. So much for detente. So much for society.

Open and fully promoted homosexuality in the military, now full blown female “combatants”.

    R.I.P. USSA.

  9. Mr. Grumpus says:

Pretty funny Paul, but yes, in a world war type scenario that is exactly what you would have to do in the aftermath. Unless, of course, we plan on making millions of test tube Hussein clones. Barf.

    • Mr. G…

Did ya know if you click on the red highlighted reply feature inside the box of the person you’re replying to that your response will go directly under that person? – Just letting you know in case you didn’t know how to do that. 😉

      • Hey BT…

I remember someone saying that their computer did not work with the reply button… can’t remember the exact reason. Maybe Mr. Grumpus has the same problem.

    • OK!!!! I’ll sacrifice my body for the good of the nation.

    • One acronym DARPA (?). Clones, super soldiers, Man/Machine hybrids. Could get interesting. My question; where do they get the money for this sheet. Oh,thats right. 600.00 toliet seats and thousand dollar wrenches. Never mind.

  10. master of sinanju says:

Queen Isabella of Spain commanded artillery, cannon? dressed in full armor giving orders to men, La malina a woman forced to convert to islam? fought against her oppressors, Queen Boudica fought the romans. Wasn’t there a female American revolutionary war heroine who fought when her cannoneer husband was struck down? I say let’em fight ONLY if they meet the same quals. as the men or all female platoons/squads. On the other side of the coin, I’ve seen some women at work who can’t do the same job I do, they get an idiot fellow officer to do it for them. State fire marshall came by for an inspection, 5 ft. 0″ tall you expect me to believe she could fireman carry my partner out of a burning building?

    • We had one of those 5 foot tall girls on my department and she could barely carry her own gear. But, she was ‘hot’. So she got a pass.

  11. Mr. Grumpus says:

BT, I do all my yapping from a Blackberry. It doesn’t seem to give me that option, I just see everything laid out in the order posted. Am I missing something, other than some long lost brain cells?

    • Now that you explained what you use…you probably don’t see that option. I had no idea, plus…I have no idea how the Blackberry works in conjunction with the site, but I bet others do. 😉

Just was trying to help. ~

      • Mr. Grumpus says:

OK, I can reply if I turn off the Mobile Theme, but then I run into long load times and crappy pop-up pages. So, it’s six of one and half dozen of the other, but you’re still my favorite blogger on the net either way, so thanks for trying to help. Might be time for me to get a tablet or something new and fancy to yap with.

        • Hey, worry not about it my friend. Don’t inconvenience yourself that way…I got the idea. – Carry on 😉

And thank you for the kind words, I truly appreciate that…more than you’ll ever know.

          • Hey BT,

Regarding Mr. Grumpus saying you were his favorite blogger on the net… is it possible that AWD’s site is the only one he visits… just asking!!!

          • Lol…I don’t know, you’ll have to ask him. 😉

  12. There’s only one way to find out. Let some of these butch bull dykes get captured by the Taliban and see how it plays out!

The real point is – the O Team want to shred the Patriarchy anyway they can. That’s what’s at play here, not whether women can do it or not.

Gunny & Glock – Wrong girl

  13. Mr. Grumpus says:

Here’s my daily read Paul. American Thinker, AWD, Western Rifle Shooters, Sultan Knish, Atlas Shrugs, and Right Side News. There’s many other great sites out there, but I work on my feet and the blackberry only handles so much. And yes, I always enjoy reading what BT has to say on the nightmare of the day

    • Mr. Grumpus,

Actually BT is my favorite also… she is the backbone (no offense AWD) of the site.

AWD will be the man once he gets the radio show back up.

      • Paul…

Thank you as well. You guys have me blushing. (enough now…I don’t know how to take compliments very well.)

As to Prez Duderino and his Big Sexy Radio Show, I’m looking forward to hearing that voice on the air again too!

Wheres WILMA DEERING to lead the squadrons of STARFIGHTERS against those nasty DRACONIANS?

  15. Why stop there…let’s put children, disabled and elderly in combat.

Liberals have the clearest view of their own rectum!

  16. Whether you like West or not (which I do)…he had some words about this issue today etc. There are highlighted links inside the report.

  17. bigtimer
Guess I’m just old fashioned but I believe women are to be protected by men, not saying women couldn’t fight but men that feel the way I do will be distracted on the battle field because they will be protecting someone that should not be there in the first place, his fighting ability will suffer and his buds will die because of it.

  18. See if you agree with what this guy has to say.

  19. After over 20 yrs of service in combat and the Cold War I can personally recall 5 womerns I would want to go into a fight with, period. Now, for non tactical stuff, plenty of womerns, some of the finest officers/enlisted I have ever served with were superior operators, again, non tactical.

For what it’s worth Dempsey is no longer in my food chain, he is a turd and should consider trading his uniform in for a French beret and short-shorts! Pitiful cheese eating surrender monkey!

    Blistered, out!

    • Always glad to know your opinions Blistered…I’ll take heed to what you’re saying about Dempsey. ~ You would know far more than me about him.

    • Btw Blistered….I just thought of something tonight. In my blog post itself, the Dempsey I was referring to was the Demsey in my blog post that had the debate which was mentioned with KT McFarland. His first name is Jack.

The one I despise that signed this bill and gave the order…is Martin Dempsey. – I just wonder if we crossed wires and got mixed up with which Dempsey we were referring to. – Know what I’m saying? 😉

  20. Then we have this opinion…what do you think?

  21. I think social reaction to the death of female soldiers in the line of duty probably wont be the same as to the death of male soldiers. But I guess that is what social experiments are all about.

  22. I hear tampons are good for plugging bullet holes and maxi pads help clot blood. These knuckle heads will change their minds when women are captured then raped and tortured.I still think obumbo wants to bring the troops home for civil disobedience . When you see the draft start be prepared. These power hungry monsters will go extremes for total control.

  23. One more…speaking of the military, have any of you read about this?

  24. Here’s a solution. Draft all people men and women, over 65. Dress them properly for where they will fight. Teach them how to use assault rifles and embed them with younger troops who can handle the heavier fire power.

If us older people get our asses shot off- we take no money from SS anymore, we use no Medicare funds and if we get buried where we die , we use no real estate in the USA.

Review–less drain on SS, our biggest fed payout. No drain on Medicare== leaves lots of money to care for illegal immigrants. And if we have no living spouses, no checks for nobody.

Wait–here’s the hitch. Once you arm us old folks, we will march on DC instead, blow YOUR asses away and start the country on a return to the old values. You know, where we observe and enforce the Constitution and our laws?

  25. I try to keep thinking good thoughts. It gets harder each day. Read a good article about what a sellout asshole Rubio is.

Hugh Hewitt turned his back on America, took the RINO pilld and said we shgould listen to to Run=bio
s plan. I read it a couple of days ago and it is essenti8ally the same as Obama’s.

Buck Ofama. Heahding out to a grand feast–ha ha IHOP here we come.

  26. bluffcreek1967 says:

I don’t support women in combat positions at all. Like all liberal policies, this too will prove disastrous – but by then it may be too late! I have no problem with women in support roles within the military, but not on the front lines.

As a law enforcement officer with many years of street experience, I haven’t been too impressed with even women working on a patrol level. Some of them are okay, but they ALL lack the upper body strength needed when a parolee doesn’t quite feel like complying. I’ve seen several of them in fights and they neither had the command presence, fighting ability or muscle strength that men have. A good many of them are cowards – but that’s not popular to admit.

Oh yeah, I know there are exceptions, but that only proves the rule – namely, when the poop hits the fan and when it’s time to get down and dirty, women are greatly lacking in this department. And this will be proven as well when women are given full combat authority as men within the military. You will then see how cowardly women are by nature. But that’s okay, they weren’t designed to respond the way men do. Geez, when are people going to get it that men and women are different?

You know where I really want to see women? In the home, taking care of their children and being faithful to their husbands. I want women acting like women, feminine and sweet. That’s what I really want! I don’t want them physically fighting criminals on the streets or in some ditch taking rounds from the enemy – or God forbid, being caught by some followers of the pedophile prophet (may pig piss be upon him) and undergoing the horrors of rape, sodomy and torture! By the way, when the Muslims eventually catch a U.S. female soldier (and it’s just a matter of time), they will be degraded and endure suffering even worse than the male soldiers! But don’t worry, the MSM will do its best to not allow this pretty little secret to get out.

    • Total agreement. And your last sentence says it all when it comes to the msm

This is a ‘Be Careful What You Wish For’ scenario.

  27. Oh great…here’s one more. They’ve found a way to use the friggin’ race-card! Does it ever end with these mfers’?

    • As I have said before, it won’t be long before political commissars are appointed in the military.

The political commissar (also politruk Russian: политрук from политический руководитель: political officer) is the supervisory political officer responsible for the political education (ideology) and organization, and loyalty to the government of the military. Historically, the commissaire politique (political commissary) first appeared in the French Revolution (1789–99), guarding it against anti-Revolutionary (ideological) thought and action, and so ensuring the Republican victory.

      • Methinks you’re spot-on. Color me DISGUSTED!

        Our country is soooo fracked!

Btw Snake…just wait until we don’t have the volunteers that we’ve had that go into the military service if all of what we see coming takes place. – What will women in this country do when the draft is reinstated…eh?

Just a thought…because at this rate, that will be a given.

  28. Rush throws in his two-cents about this matter. ~
