Do you ever feel like we’re living in some kind of ‘Twilight Zone?’ Wait until you read about this and watch the interview regarding what took place at a school in Loveland, Colorado…you just might think we are living in a surreal country…simple as that.

Here’s the report…make sure and click the link for some more great information as well. This is via TB:

It’s getting harder and harder to be a kid these days. Back in the day, children frequently played “cops and robbers” and other good vs. bad games at recess and around the house. Now they’re getting punished for it.

On the heels of three 6-year-olds being suspended for making gun signs with their hands during recess and a 5-year-old girl being suspended and labeled a “terrorist threat” for threatening to shoot her friend with a “Hello Kitty” bubble gun, a 7-year-old Colorado boy at Loveland’s Mary Blair Elementary School is reportedly in a similar position.

So what did he do? Apparently the 2nd grader was playing “rescue the world” at recess when he threw a pretend grenade at a make-believe box full of “evil forces.” There wasn’t actually anything in his hand, nor was there a real box.

“I was trying to save people and I just can’t believe I got dispended,” Alex Evans said. After demonstrating how the game is played, he said he threw fake grenade at the box “so nothing can get out and destroy the world.”

Fox 31 has more on the story:

But his imaginary play broke the school’s real rules. The school lists “absolutes” designed to keep a safe environment. The list includes absolutely no fighting, real or imaginary; no weapons, real or imaginary. Click here to see the Mary Blair “Absolutes”

“Honestly I don’t think the rule is very realistic for kids this age,” says Alex’s mom Mandie Watkins.

Alex is like a lot of 2nd graders, perpetual motion. His mom says the little boy doesn’t understand why pretending to be a soldier was wrong. “I think that when a child is trying to save the world, I don’t think he should be punished for it.” [Emphasis added]

The mother adds that Alex will be staying home until they can get the issue resolved.

Watch young Alex’s interview with Fox 31, below:

Give me a break! Seems to me the people who should be ‘dispended’ are the nutcases than make these rules, along with their authoritarian decisions! How in the world do they think they are going to control to what comes natural to young childen when they’re playing? – Talk about ‘Thought Police’…this has to be a prime example of just that! Heck…they may as well frog-march him off to GITMO, he’s a real criminal dontcha know! You just have to shake your head in disbelieve these day…I know I do when I read things such as this.

Don’t miss watching the interview…it’s precious and priceless!

  1. Finally figured it out this morning: I’ve always seen that they want control by doing this to the young ones. But now I see they are trying to scare the children so badly that they never pick up a gun again in their lives.

This is gun control, pre-emptive, on the children, so they grow up hating guns.

What that kid’s family need to do is take him out to the gun range NOW, have him practise and master guns, so he knows their value, will defend them, and not be afraid of them.

    • Exactly right! But perhaps we need an orchestrated voluntary campaign to fight the gun controllers who are laser-focused upon dissuading gun ownership both through social ostracism and the force of government.

Project Appleseed (RWVA.org) started as ONE person’s campaign in The Shotgun News to get people to actually be able to USE their semi-auto rifle to engage targets effectively out to 400 yards with open sights.

I propose a Project Daisy (Daisychain?) whose purpose will be to throw a monkey wrench into the anti-gunners successful campaign to dissuade the susceptible via propaganda from purchasing firearms. (Project Daisy because it will be an unkillable weed which the gun controllers will be allergic to!) You can fill in the possibilities about how one would use social networking to rope people in. The idea is to supply a network of volunteers that one would contact if they are interested in purchasing firearms; basically, handholding from expression of the idea of gun ownership through low-cost one-day at the range training.

    • Throw in playing ‘War’ as well. Heck, we all used to play that in our neck of the woods on the desert in California. We’d build forts and have the time of our young lives. – Our nation is upside down…I don’t know if we’re going to ever be able to tilt it back upright at this point.

  4. What’s next…”dispended” for wearing camo clothing like soldiers? Parents need to take a serious look at home/private schooling and get these children out of the public prison system!

  5. Time for the kids to make a 2nd amendment stand, all the kids bring their imaginary weapons to school one day and have a fire fight with the teachers, (breaking News, 500 kids arrested at Mary and George Elementary school today after an all out assault on administration) do this every day across the country till the schools are empty and parents start home schooling.

  6. When I think back on the things I had to do to get out of school when I didn’t feel like going. Man Kids got it so easy today. /off sarcasm

Either get control of your school boards or get your kids away from Public Schools, stop letting them have your children. Your kids need you, not some surrogate parent.

Here’s what I want to know: even though there are ratings on kids’ electronic games these days many play the T or M rated ones. Where’s the outcry? Oh, wait. The kids playing those aren’t using their imaginations. Imaginations are not allowed. Oh.

    Like BT said. Thought Police.

  8. It’s amazing how well “zero tolerance” has ended school violence, especially in the ghetto.

  11. What can one expect… liberals have infiltrated the educational fields and are shaping the minds of our children to believe the Constitution is outdated and global warming (now called climate change) is the result of selfishness.

Btw… don’t forget the hatred of liberals towards the wealthy or towards those who work hard to succeed.

  15. Parents, dont let these brain dead liberal jack asses twist your childrens minds! Teach them about guns at a young age. Teach them to shoot and safely handle a weapon. F##k these anti gun sickening bastards..all of em. We are destined to raise future generations of sissy’s and fags at the hands of these liberal bastards who want to control our lives cradle to grave. Im so sick and tired of the control grabs and bullshit these sickening bastards keep trying to foist on all of us free thinkers. The more they try to force their agenda on us the harder we need to resist. Free thinking people are their worst nightmare. All you have to do is look at any gathering of democrat supporters and its plain to see that its nothing more than a gaggle of brain dead idiots who couldnt come up with an original thought if their pathetic lives depended on it.
