A friend asked AWD if I would post this today. What do y’all think? I kind of like the idea of those corruptocrats putting their money where their pie-holes are on gun control. Since anti-gun votes are normally death sentences for most politicians, it would be nice to put them on record. There’s a lot of Dims in pro-gun red states.

Whatever their opinion on the Second Amendment or gun control, many Americans from all political persuasions believe that the idea of renewing the Assault Weapons Ban of 1994 deserves an UP OR DOWN VOTE on the floor of the U.S. House and the U.S. Senate.

An UP OR DOWN VOTE means that every Congressman and Senator will have to tell their constituents, of all political stripes, where they truly stand on guns. No more hiding behind backroom deals and party leadership.

Do you agree that this issue deserves an up or down vote? If so, you are invited to sign the petition calling on both houses of Congress to give the American people an UP OR DOWN VOTE on renewing the Assault Weapons Ban of 1994.

  1. Yes, up or down.

Pull off the mask, it is that simple!

    Blistered, out!

  2. I don’t care how they vote. My HUMAN RIGHTS are not up for debate.

  3. The republicans have show us they don’t vote our way so what would make me believe they would on this issue, besides we’re not giving them up anyway.

I know this crap isn’t up to the Dude, it’s a Googly thing or wordpress or something, but… anybody else seeing the UNC MPA ad on the sidebar?

“The online MPA [Masters of Public Administration] @UNC”

“If you’re super smart, crazy busy, and passionate about public service”

“Assault weapons” ban? Ya, take it to the floor. Please. I need to thin out my “likes” and email lists.

  5. inagadadavida says:

“Take it” to the floor? More like “bring it!”

  6. No, I don’t think there should be an UP OR DOWN vote. I think even GOA is against that because there are lots of closet gun controllers AKA “LIARS” in Congress who are just itching to screw gun owners if given the chance to show how they stand with the Cosmopolitan progressives and against the civilian militia. For example, both Rep. John Dingle (D-MI), NRA Board Member, and Rep. Robert Michel (R-IL), both supposedly solid pro-gun votes, voted FOR Clinton’s Assault Weapon Ban of 1994.

Any kind of gun bans or gun control is UNCONSTITUTIONAL and anyone who supports gun control should leave america forever

  8. Frederick Bailey says:

How about a vote on a budget first.

  9. How bout I send them all a fart in a bottle to vote up or down on

  10. No…it should not go up for a floor vote. It is my right to own this kind of gun and I do not consider a floor vote on my rights valid. They don’t have a floor vote on whether free speech is a right. They don’t have floor votes on whether states can secede (and they do have that right…a defeat on the battlefield did not completely answer that question). These azzoles have no right to vote on my rights. My rights are given to me by God and the constitution. I say we have a vote to see if we don’t hang all of them for treason.

  11. Uh oh… before I read this whole thread… I clicked on the link. And I signed the petition. I did select the option stating that I oppose the assault weapons ban (which of course I do). But that would be a yes vote on bringing it to the floor. And after reading some of you guys’ responses… we might end up shooting ourselves in the foot if we allow it to come to a vote.

So… I think I may have made a mistake. But it seemed like the only option in order to make it known that I oppose the ban. I… hope it doesn’t create a problem for us… :-(

  12. New Gun Bill Calls for Sheriff to Inspect Home

  13. I agree with you all. My life is my own to protect..not some piece of shit politicians. They can vote all they want…my weapons stay with me to my grave. F##k them all. The ban didnt work for the 10 wasted years it was in effect and it wont accomplish a damn thing now. Why waste time even bringing it to the floor again? If they do it will be voted down anyway. Waste of time. I wish they would fix the economy instead of trying to take our guns away. F’ing democrats suck!

  14. We don’t need to bring the Anti-American politicians out of hiding, they have gotten bold and now stand in plain sight.

The Democratic party has made it clear they are communist, and the Republican party cheers their bipartisan support for them.

Both parties have made it crystal clear they do not want white middle class america, or it’s traditional form of government, because it does not provide them a direct path to power.

  15. They are coming for the guns on every level in every state

Sheriff Says We’re Going to See 2nd American Revolution

  16. Let them vote! I want it on the congressional record who is and is not supporting the second amendment!

Only reason I want a vote. I know what my rights are, do they understand them?

    Blistered out!

  17. Kill any and all Bills that even hint at a ban, registration, background checks, or any of that other shit…Our Second Amendment rights are not for debate or negotiations. No votes.. Just knock off the crap trying to serve a minority group bent on turning this country into a European style cesspool of entitlement seeking jackasses that think Obama and his crew of Buttholes are going to protect them….

  18. Isn’t it ironic that these,”blue state” pukes already live under all these wondrful bans and restrictions on their rights to protect themselves? Looks to me like they want to feminize and wussify the rest of the country.

Washington St. Gun Bill Includes ‘Sheriff Visits’

Misstep in gun bill could defeat the effort

One of the major gun-control efforts in Olympia this session calls for the sheriff to inspect the homes of assault-weapon owners. The bill’s backers say that was a mistake.

    By Danny Westneat | February 16, 2013

Forget police drones flying over your house. How about police coming inside, once a year, to have a look around?

As Orwellian as that sounds, it isn’t hypothetical. The notion of police home inspections was introduced in a bill last week in Olympia.

That it’s part of one of the major gun-control efforts pains me. It seemed in recent weeks lawmakers might be headed toward some common-sense regulation of gun sales. But then last week they went too far. By mistake, they claim. But still too far.

“They always say, we’ll never go house to house to take your guns away. But then you see this, and you have to wonder.”

That’s no gun-rights absolutist talking, but Lance Palmer, a Seattle trial lawyer and self-described liberal who brought the troubling Senate Bill 5737 to my attention. It’s the long-awaited assault-weapons ban, introduced last week by three Seattle Democrats.

    • If you can’t beat them, then join them. The long range aim of the gun controller is the systematic reduction of gun rights until you have nothing but a single-shot muzzle loading blunderbuss. Remember, that’s the EXACT argument made by the Illinois Supreme Court when they upheld the Cosmopolitan’s Morton Grove, Illinois handgun ban — as long as Morton Grove allowed SOME gun, they were not in violation of the State Constitution.

I say, whenever the SCUM promotes their gun control bills, help them out with POISON PILL language. They want gun registration? Okay. Make each gun registered be done with a $50,000 fee. After all, if you are stupid enough to support it, then the COMMON PEOPLE needs to know the EXACT reason for this!
