While the last piles of trash are being cleaned from the 50th anniversary fiesta at Martin Luther King’s famous “I Have A Dream” speech in Washington, AWD has been reflecting on how the dreams he had for America in his youth have been totally destroyed. What once was a promising America with limitless potential is now nothing more than an out of shape, punch-drunk fighter way past his prime tottering before the knockout blow. This is what’s become of America by embracing liberal ideals over the past 50 years.

It wasn’t supposed to be this way. AWD grew up in the late seventies. Life was simpler then. Families lived together. There was little divorce, it seemed. Racial relations were much better. AWD remembers having nearly as many black friends in high school as white. Of course, the families of my black friends were intact and my black friends either went to college, the military or work after graduation. Just like my white friends. As a “yoot,” AWD was (and is still) a huge fan of black music from the seventies. I would attend concerts by black groups like Cameo, Parliament-Funkadelic, Con Funk Shun, the Bar-Kays and many others. Often, my friends and I were the only white faces in the coliseum. Didn’t matter. Everyone came to party and dance. And we did. No problems, no fights or beat-downs, just civilized people having a great time at great concerts. What has become of those days? Gone forever!

America 2013 finds race relations worse than in any time in my memory. MLK dreamed of a day when his children would be judged on their character and not the color of their skin. I dream of the day when my children don’t have to carry concealed weapons lest they cross paths with violent black youth preying on the hated white crackas.

Fifty years of political correctness and government programs that begun under Lyndon Johnson’s Great Society have destroyed much of the black community. American taxpayers have spent trillions of dollars to right the wrongs of slavery and Jim Crow laws and set blacks on equal footings with other races. Certainly, no former slaves have been around for a long, long time. Anyone who ever experienced separate water fountains under Jim Crow is now in their seventies. But after 50 years of giving preferential hiring, college admission, welfare, Section 8 housing, food stamps, etc, black America has not come close to performing on the same levels of other races. Moreover, blacks commit the lion’s share of violent crimes and violent attacks on white people at the hands of black thugs are commonly reported every day. White on black crime is so rare that leftists and black racists had to invent a new racial category…White Hispanic…to find a white-on-black crime in America in the Trayvon Martin debacle. The trial of George Zimmerman proved without a doubt he was well within his rights to shoot the attacking Trayvon Martin.

This was not what AWD expected for his country in his youth! Black people didn’t randomly jump and beat white people. Nor did white people do the same. We got along. But that is all gone.

Somewhere along the way white liberals and their racial henchmen like Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton realized they could control the black vote and make money by preaching victimization to the black community. The civil rights era that sought equality of opportunity has devolved into a cesspool of victimhood that seeks advantages and awards where none are warranted by performance. The race-card is thrown around so ubiquitously these days that AWD read a report today that said using white paper for school children is racist. The culture of victimhood knows no bounds and has become the absurd.

America 2013 is a disaster zone. The country known for putting men on the moon with nothing more than slide rulers is now for paying hundreds of millions of moochers to not work! America doesn’t send men to the moon anymore. China does. We hand out ObamaPhones. The values of hard work, self-reliance, sacrifice, education and morality have been torn asunder by value-less trash you wouldn’t want near your children. While most Americans cannot name their congressman, they can tell you all about Miley Cyrus twerking on the MTV awards. That is how low we’ve fallen.

A former Black Panther who is now a conservative once told AWD that he believes white America has embraced MLK’s color-blind society much more than blacks. I told him I agree. Most white people I know judge people on actions. But how can we ignore the actions of so many blacks who are violent thugs and commit the vast majority of violent crime in America while making up such a small percentage of the population? Look at any city where there are large majority of blacks. Without exception, they are violent hell-holes, dying from decent people of all races fleeing to safer areas and taking their taxes with them.

Is this what MLK dreamed? Did he dream that young blacks would lead the nation in school dropouts, illegitimacy rates, incarceration rates, violent crime commission, etc? Did he dream the goal of many too many black youths would be to become a rapper, gangster or a pimp? That black women would be commonly referred to as bitches and ho’s? If that was MLK’s dream, his statue should be immediately removed from Washington.

In Barack Obama’s 2013, AWD is evil. For one thing, I’m a white male enjoying so-called white privilege even though I have worked my ass off for whatever I have. By the laws of political correctness, I must uniformly accept every vile action of every other race or sexual deviancy in America without comment or I am a “racist” or some other name. Vile behavior that would have been widely castigated as perversion fifty years ago by all is now celebrated by the overlords of political correctness in the left. My earnings from hard work (not white privilege) is redistributed by a corrupt government in the form of welfare to buy votes for the Democrat Party. If I object on the basis of the need for self-sufficiency, AWD is called a greedy one-percenter. In actuality, I’m not even a greedy fifty-percenter! But tomorrow, I will be back in the mines slaving to pay for ObamaPhones for the moochers in America.

So the dream for America of AWD’s youth has turned into a full-fledged nightmare in 2013. A bankrupt, corrupt, divided, dying, once-great country destined for the dustbin of history. It’s happened before. It will happen again if political correctness and the claptrap of paying people not to work for votes is followed. Of course, this is nothing new. Alexis de Tocqueville said in the early 1800’s:

“The American Republic will endure until the day Congress discovers that it can bribe the public with the public’s money.”

“A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the majority discovers it can vote itself largess out of the public treasury. After that, the majority always votes for the candidate promising the most benefits with the result the democracy collapses because of the loose fiscal policy ensuing, always to be followed by a dictatorship, then a monarchy.”

That day has come.

While white liberals and race-baiting civil-rights leaders blame the problems of black America on slavery, AWD asks this simple question: Who is the slave today? I work my ass off to provide public assistance (read: welfare) for moochers in America. What’s worse is the moochers aren’t only domestic but imported illegal aliens who feed at the trough of taxpayer-funded government services. I submit that AWD is the modern-day slave! The working man and woman are the slaves today. We labor for those who will not work.

AWD has gone from being Dagny Taggart in the book “Atlas Shrugs” to John Galt. If you haven’t read Atlas Shrugs, shame on you. Dagny would not give up hope that she could rescue America from the corrupt, socialist, PC laws and ideas from big-government leftists. John Galt couldn’t wait for the collapse to start rebuilding on tried-and-true constitutional principles of self-reliance and individual rights. The question the Dagny’s of America now face is how to turn life-long moochers into productive, law-abiding citizens? You can’t. The only way for that to happen is for all government assistance to be eliminated. But no politician in America has the guts to suggest cutting off welfare services for able-bodied moochers. But starvation is a great motivator. But why should moochers become responsible citizens when they can subsist off of the labors of producers? Pay a man not to work and he will not work. Even worse, he become useless and often times violent. We are seeing that every day in America 2013.

It’s no surprise that America is getting its ass kicked by the rest of the world that doesn’t subscribe to political correctness and victimhood.

MLK’s dream fifty years ago has become a nightmare. My nightmare. My dreams for a great America with equal opportunity (not equal outcome without effot) have died.

I am a slave.

Word Up. I too bought into what was sold by the very diverse gang of kids on Sesame Street. Totally. Boy, do I feel foolish.

  2. True and my children will be slaves unless they wake up and just say NO. The problem is caused just as much by Repos as Demos, actually I view them as the same. Conservatives have been fighting this Repo/Demo hand holding for decades. Term limits would be one good start if we could get 2/3rds of the States to call an Amendments Convention, certainly a better chance of getting something done with Congress and The Commie Rat Basta*d we have as a President and Congress and the CRB would have little real say other than whining, which is all they seem to do now. Take their lavish retirement benefits away and make them take what the average retirements of Joe Sixpack are. Congress was never set up as a career.

  3. Funny thing…when a Black person actually subscribes to American values, s/he’s called a “sellout.”

You want a “sellout?” How about supposed ‘Reverends’ who profit by promoting hate, animosity, ignorance, misery, racism, violence and animalistic behavior as acceptable and righteous qualities? That’s the ULTIMATE sellout, and one our Lord isn’t likely to take kindly to.

Yes, Jackson, Sharpton, Wright and all you other race-baiting bastards, I’m talking to YOU. May God have mercy on whatever might remain of your souls. :(

  4. I love the Dream Speech..I hate how todays’s race baiters bastardized ..the meaning and intent..Yes You Jackson, Sharpton, Lewia, and Powell

the charector NOT color of skin

  5. OK I’ll be the bad guy maybe I’m wrong I don’t know maybe I’m right?

I need someone to explain to me something. Why is it no matter where you go in the world blacks are the lowest class and ressposible for the most crime and violence? I think in the 70’s AWD America was still overwhelmingly White 87.7% according to Wiki. Blacks still faced some forms of segregation and this was good for Whites. It protected them from what you see today violence and murder.

I am not a hard core racist but I do agree with Paul Kersey from SBPDL. If Liberalism is what makes balck areas so bad why are all areas with blacks bad? It is a point to ponder and if I am proven wrong then I will accept that. I don’t dislike any individual but if certain groups express certain traits I deserve the right to judge for myself how much interaction I am going to participate.

      • You and I know that but I think there are a lot of Conservatives that refuse to look at this information.

          • I don’t think it’s genetic as much as it’s cultural. their culture has been and is poor and unstable. Look at Africa, generations of corruption, low levels of creativity, no ability to organize for a common good, inability to hold leaders to account.

It will take awhile before the entire level rises to a better average.

    • Don’t apologize because you make an astute observation leading to the correct conclusion. There have been exceptional blacks, or a few anyway. Most are useless individuals in whom resides the feeling that this world owes them something. Furthermore, on a larger scale, name one successful country which features a black leader. Alright, one. Us. And look where we are heading. What may be gleaned from this? I am something of a racist, though I do not promote violence or even unequal status. I do however, need them to leave me alone, and should they cross that line, then force will be greeted with force.
In addition, I don’t care for their manners, rude obnoxiou8s behavior, or much of anything else about them. I have “White Power” tattooed numerous places, cause: Black is beautiful, brown is grand, but white is the color of the ‘ol boss man. Finally, excuse my language, but “F$%K ’em”

  6. My mental picture of the USA today is the Titanic. Now I don’t mean the image of the great ship going down…. I mean the image of the magnificent vessel all alight and coursing the sea with ease. But something is not quite right with the picture…yes the proud liner is at a slight angle about 5 degrees or so, with the stern up. Yes there was a hardly felt joggle and the glasses moved ever so slightly on the table about 5 minutes ago. But all is well… after all the grandiose ship is the pride of the western world and unsinkable to boot. And as we know ” the band played on.”
I will have to add this: that when the voyage ends it most likely will not be the women and children in the life boats. So be prepared.

  7. Nostradumbass says:

“The world you desired can be won, it exists, it is real, it is possible, it’s yours. But to win it requires total dedication and a total break with the world of your past, with the doctrine that man is sacrificial animal who exists for the pleasure of others. Fight for the value of your person. Fight for the virtue of your pride. Fight for the essence, which is man, for his sovereign rational mind. Fight with the radiant certainty and the absolute rectitude of knowing that yours is the morality of life and yours is the battle for any achievement, any value, any grandeur, any goodness, any joy that has ever existed on this earth.”

  8. Sad but true. There is a special place in the hereafter for the likes of Sharpton I still think that there is time for the vast majority of Americans to wake up and do the right thing. The problem is that we have not had a leader since Ronald Reagan. I might not have liked all his policies but there is no question that he led this nation and the world respected him. I don’t see where the next real leader will come from, but lets keep hoping that he/she will emerge and the American public will be smart enough to recognize him/her.

And yes, everyone should read Atlas Shrugged and Fountainhead which also depicts how these horrible critters get in power. Politically and socially Ayn Rand was right. Religiously, however, I think she got it wrong. Oh well, no one bats 1000.

    • Mr. Rational says:

The irony is that Rand created a philosophical movement which is as dogmatic as any of those she denounced, and almost as much of a personality cult as Leninism.  It takes too much selflessness to excise such flaws, and the author of “The Virtue of Selfishness” just didn’t have it in her.

      • Nostradumbass says:

Irony is a liberal classifying atheism as a religion.

        • Mr. Rational says:

          Irony is a soi-distant conservative:
          (a) calling an alt-right conservative a liberal
          (b) not understanding what the words “philosophical movement” mean, and that they are not synonymous with “religion”
          (c) not understanding that dogmatism is ubiquitous… and also directly opposite to true objectivity, which is what Objectivism claimed to be based on.
          (d) being unable to see that humans are flawed
          (e) all of the above

          • Nostradumbass says:

is an “alt-right” conservative the same as liberal? Depends on what if that alt indicates alternate or alternative. It does not mean ultra for sure.
I’m sure that you mean ‘Soi-disant” a French term of endearment to you, rather than soi-distant, which really means nothing. Or you could really have meant soi-distant, being as meaningless as your argument.

          • Mr. Rational says:

I plead nolo contendere to fat-fingering late at night.

I will spare you the insults appropriate to one who focuses on typos while ignoring the actual issues under debate.  This time.

  10. This is one idea that really should be passed around:

    *Congressional Reform Act of 2013

    1. No Tenure / No Pension.

A Congressman/woman collects a salary while in office and receives no pay when they’re out of office.

    2. Congress (past, present & future) participates in Social Security.

All funds in the Congressional retirement fund move to the Social Security system immediately. All future funds flow into the Social Security system, and Congress participates with the American people. It may not be used for any other purpose.

    3. Congress can purchase their own retirement plan, just as all Americans do.

    4. Congress will no longer vote themselves a pay raise.Congressional pay will rise by the lower of CPI or 3%.

    5. Congress loses their current health care system and participates in the same health care system as the American people.

    6. Congress must equally abide by all laws they impose on the American people.

    7. All contracts with past and present Congressmen/women are void effective 12/31/13. The American people did not make this contract with Congressmen/women.

Congressmen/women made all these contracts for themselves. Serving in Congress is an honor, not a career. The Founding Fathers envisioned citizen legislators, so ours should serve their term(s), then go home and back to work.

    • Yup they need some skin in the game,

    • Mr. Rational says:

You really don’t want to make Congress the exclusive preserve of the independently wealthy.  Giving citizen-legislators a solid pension means they don’t have to have a job to go back to after office, or wealthy benefactors; it makes them less corruptible, not more.

If you are asking someone to sacrifice a business or career for the sake of representing your interests in Washington, that sacrifice should be compensated with a measure of security.

      • Nostradumbass says:

What career did Obuzzkill have before he became a well compensated elitist politician? What was Maxine Waters job before getting elected? How much did Pigosi sacrifice to become princess of the free government flights home? Would Al Gore have stayed home instead of taking over his dad’s senate seat? What compensation did “winter warrior” Kerry get for being a gigalo and couldn’t he have kept that job even without becoming a senator?

When have anyone of these elitist snobs ever represented my interests as opposed to thier own selfish interests?

        • Mr. Rational says:

I don’t see how your rant is responsive to what I said.

A decent pension gives worthless pols an incentive to retire.  Isn’t that what you’d like them to do?

          • Nostradumbass says:

you said “If you are asking someone to sacrifice a business or career for the sake of representing your interests in Washington, that sacrifice should be compensated with a measure of security.”

Now are you saying my “rant” wasn’t responsive?

OK, how about this: Obozo did not have a paying career position before he ran for congress. I don’t feel as if he is sacrificing anything. He does not seem to be too good at representing me either. I sincerely doubt that Maxine Waters ever had or could hold a job outside of politics. She does not represent my interests at all. Pelosi did not/does not need the paycheck, but she likes making more money thru sending government work to her husbands business, she likes all the perks as much as the worthless first family does as well. Again, I don’t think she represents me. All of the politi-wags that I mentioned earlier are only in politics to get what they can from it. They have not sacrificed anything.

Your recent comment “A decent pension gives worthless pols an incentive to retire. Isn’t that what you’d like them to do?”

Yes, I would like them to retire, but there is no way that providing them a decent pension would give them incentive to retire, quite the contrary, as the longer service results in even more gravytrain for them.

You seem to be pretty good at obfuscation, are you a polictician?

          • Mr. Rational says:

OK, how about this: Obozo did not have a paying career position before he ran for congress. I don’t feel as if he is sacrificing anything.

In other words, he was supported by means not requiring a job or a business, so he didn’t have to worry about losing it while he held office.  Meanwhile, someone holding down e.g. a position as a plumber would likely be sacrificing their livelihood if they spent even 2 years in Congress.

Isn’t that the PROBLEM?  If ONLY people like Obongo can afford to run for office, that’s what you’ll get.

there is no way that providing them a decent pension would give them incentive to retire, quite the contrary, as the longer service results in even more gravytrain for them.

If some guy making $75k a year gets a $100k/year pension after 2 years in Congress, he’ll have nothing to lose by serving.  With about 750k people per US rep, that would cost about 13 cents per capita per year (times the number of retired pols).  Wouldn’t you rather have someone like your neighbor serving as your Congresscritter, and not just the sort of slime who can get backing in the form of do-nothing jobs from the likes of ACORN?

We can get rid of the gravy train by outlawing lobbying by ex-pols.  But you’d have to give them something in compensation.

You seem to be pretty good at obfuscation, are you a polictician?

I’m just trying to get a point through while you appear determined not to understand it.

      • Maybe congressional/senate seats should just be auctioned – funds deposited into the public treasury. Think about this: would we be any worse off? Those with the money are controlling everything by buying off politicians with campaign contributions, gifts, trips, etc. Why not just skip over this and put the seats up for sale? The public would derive more benefit this way. (yes, I’m a bit jaded.)

  11. Respect is earned via good deeds, actions and setting an example for others to follow. In the black community, Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson and all of the others who spoke at the MLK gathering “demanded” respect. None of them spoke of solutions or setting of good examples. No, they “demand” that we respect them. I have nothing but contempt for these men and the others who spoke at this gathing.

Blacks such as Doctor Ben Carson, Herman Cain and many others have set those examples and deserve respect. All people have their shortcomings and failures in life (even Dr. Carson and Mr. Cain) but rise above it to “command” respect not “demand” it.

I have nothing but total respect for blacks who turn their back on gangs, rap, poverty etc and make something of themselves. They have more opportunity than ever before thanks to the American taxpayer, upward mobility, the civil rights act of 1964 etc. Trillions of dollars have been spent on blacks in the hopes that they will try to lift themselves out of the cesspool that are our “hoods”. None of them can tell me they can’t get an education and have no opportunity, BULLSHIT!!. The great vast majority of them can get a FREE education from grammar school all the way to college.

I have no respect for them at all.

In all my years in the military, I learned a lot about respect. Coming right out of high school into the military I did not know a damn thing about respect. During my early years in my career I learned to recognize true leaders and recognize those who were not. As I advanced in my career I had some pretty responsible positions and I truly hope that I did gain the respect of my peers. I am sure that my fellow current and former members of the military know what I speak of.

It is easy to recognize that not a single individual that spoke at the MLK gathering did nothing more than “demand” respect, none of them have mine and never will.

Wow! It’s like you read my mind.. I was having these same thoughts last night. I hit the ground running in 1968..and I thought I knew everything. I was a fool. Thank God I have been able to stick around long enough to have had my eyes opened. A few years ago my mind finally accepted that some of the so-called “conspiracies” were in fact, accurate. My thoughts went to the white crosses in Normandy.. I wept. My poor Father is 89 and a vet.. words cannot express his feelings today. I truly fear that we have lost our country. I recall the hay days of NASA and how all of us pulled together to put a man on the moon. I think that is the last time I recall feeling united as a country. This America that we have today breaks my heart. Now that I am a grandmother, I grieve even more. I will never give up the fight to try to enlighten people, but I feel we can only stand our ground and pull loved ones close. Thanks for letting me get some of this off my chest.

  22. This is a very poignant, well-written essay, Dude. It mirrors my sentiments exactly. It’s reassuring to know that there are others who can truly relate to my sense of outrage and loss.

  25. I would like to speak to you fine folks about a movie called “Ragin Cajun Redneck Gators” that is coming out on the Syfy channel. Now, I don’t know about the rest of you, but I’m really offended by this. (Actually, I’m not – just don’t tell anyone). If this movie were called “Violent, Illiterate, Monosyllabic Gangbangers” it would have never made television. Well… maybe on BET or MTV as a reality show, but that’s not the point. The issue is, I’m seriously offended. Who is going to come charging to my rescue as a white man that’s been offended by society? **crickets** That’s what I thought – not a soul is coming to my rescue. Do I actually find this movie offensive? Well, I haven’t watched it yet – I’m sure having watched it that I’ll find it offensive, if for no other reason than it’s content. The point is, everyone else in this country can be offended, and rewarded, for the least perceived slight they are able to manufacture. I think that we should stand outside of Syfy’s offices en masse and picket them. The only problem is, I’ve got to go to work. Who’s with me…!….?? What, you’re working too?

  26. This is their real dream:

    A dozen African-American teens, aged 12(!) to 17 gang-rape two women in a public park in broad daylight. Imagine that! A 12 year-old participating in a gang-rape!

This is the unfortunate consequence of MLK’s “Dream” speech (actually written by Jewish, Marxist Stanley Levison) in which we are adjured to judge by the content of their character. Judging Negroes by the content of their character gives the exact same result as judging them by the color of their skin.

    • Snake Oiler says:

This is a little ironic, isn’t it?

    • More people need to be properly educated about how many communists were in MLK’s inner circle, and what he actually thought about the USA. This is what the FBI was really concerned about, not his adultery and wicked ways. Of course his files will never be opened to the public for examination. It is kind of ironic that the Soviet Union collapsed before its leaders could see what they had wrought, and yet the current Marxist Obama regime is continuing to pursue policies that proved to be complete failures under communism.

Stop acting like blacks are the only ones who generate single mothers, but still white sons of single moms are not anywhere near as involved in violent crime.

The thing you’re forgetting in your fantasies that its only liberals’ fault, and like I said, I agree again that welfare and victimhood is a massive failure, is that many conservative policies also brought us to thie horrid place.

Republicans shipped blue collar overseas period. Yes, liberals went along eventually, but Republicans, and i’m sure a ton of sucker clowns on this board, all supported the destruction of unions that guaranteed labor for people that didnt have college degrees, and now, even those with college degrees. I’m sorry this doesnt fit your convenient brainwashing by right-wing corporate media, but it is fact.

It’s also fact that Republicans under Reagan filled black inner cities deliberately with crack cocaine and guns, and the effects have been unbelievable. That blacks have finally come out of that war-level holocaust training in combat and crime and started to take it out on whites as well as each other, is merely progression. The modern recession was caused by jews and wasps on Wall St ripping the world off for as much as they could, also a Republican value – no regulation.

Finally, throw liberal (learn the different nuances of the words you throw around like middle schoolers) gun policies into the mix, and that’s why your country sucks. One real liberal reason, and about 3-4 strong conservative reasons. I’m sorry that you think it’s all about politically correct talk for peace between the races being behind it, but then you’re all unreformed klan members, so its a lot more convenient for you to delude yourselves about your own history than to face facts.

However, the way things are, I agree, rap culture is bankrupt, this country is dangerous to non-minorities, and since I’m still the age and have the advantage of being able to move to Canada, I think I may, not just because they don’t let American criminals in up there, and that includes armies of blacks and hispanics that aren’t educated (thought there are still plenty of yokel drunk whites and gangbanger asians).

However, Canada is smart enough to also employ gun control and a more egalitarian society. I know you think this is politically correct, wtf ever that was supposed to mean. You guys always love to attack intelligence, and then claim it’s because you’re smarter. Pretty ironic. Enjoy the dump you’;ve turned America into, along with the legacy minority, the black race. The conservative white and the urban black have long been locked in a deathmatch of unparalleled stupidity that anyone new to the conutry can see through. You’re two sides of the same ignorant coin.
