Texas Tea is Strong!

As many of you know by now, senator Ted Cruz has been on quite a roll lately…and it seems there’s no stopping him anytime soon either! He never minces words and he didn’t do so during an appearance in New Orleans recently at the Republican Leadership Conference. In fact, after all was said and done, he also won the straw poll they had at the end:

1. Ted Cruz — 30.33 percent
2. Ben Carson — 29.38 percent
3. Rand Paul — 10.43 percent
4. Mike Huckabee — 5.06 percent
5. Rick Perry — 4.90 percent
6. Curt Clawson (write-in) 4.58 percent
7. Jeb Bush — 4.42 percent
8. Marco Rubio — 3.32 percent
9. Rick Santorum — 2.37 percent
10. Paul Ryan — 2.05 percent
11. Allen West (write-in) — 2.05 percent
12. Chris Christie — 1.11%

Now, here’s some of what was said by Cruz…see what you think via this report:

Although it was discouraged and subsequently chided, last year’s federal government shutdown that was kicked off by a “filibuster” on the Senate floor led by Sens. Ted Cruz (R-TX) and Mike Lee (R-UT), has been a long-term success according to Cruz.

In a speech at the Republican Leadership Conference in New Orleans, LA on Saturday, Cruz explained why and how it is paying dividends for Republicans now headed into the 2014 midterm elections.

“I want to point to the fight so many of us engaged in last fall and last summer to stop the abomination, to stop the disaster that is ObamaCare,” Cruz said. “Now, if you listen to the Democrats – if you listen to the media, although I repeat myself—they will tell you that fight last fall accomplished nothing. They will tell you everyone’s efforts standing up to ObamaCare did not succeed. Really?”

“You know, any wartime general will tell you that not every war is won in a single battle,” he continued. “What we did collectively last summer and last fall is we elevated the national debate all over this country about the disaster that is ObamaCare. Millions of Americans lit up the phones to Washington, D.C. Midway through, one of my colleagues literally made a fist pounding the table and said, ‘My constituents keep calling me.’”

“And a funny thing happened on the way on the way to the forum,” he added. “As a result of that fight, people suddenly connected — millions of people losing their jobs, millions of people being forced into part-time work, millions of people losing health insurance, millions of people facing sky-rocketing premiums – they connected it all back to ObamaCare that was sold under false pretenses.”

“And suddenly all the greybeards in Washington who opposed fighting against ObamaCare are now looking around and we’re winning Senate seats all over the country,” Cruz said. “They are reaping the fruits of the battle, which is perfectly fine but we need to take a moment to acknowledge the lesson of the battle – how do you win elections. You don’t win it by standing for nothing.”

So, what say you…could Cruz become our next president in the near future…or not? – Would you vote for him if he threw his hat in the ring and won the republican presidential primary race? If he did become president, do you think he’d make a good one, if so why…if not, why not?

  1. I’d go for Cruz any day. I’d still like to see Palin as President and Cruz as AG where he can really be effective. Cruz as President, Palin running the EPA. Gotta remember strong cabinet members that get along with the President wield enormous power.

    • Mr. Rational says:

I like what I hear, but I keep remembering all those other “great guys” who turned out to be more wholly-owned subsidiaries of Conservatism, Inc.  Experience has made me too cynical, I guess.

This is not to say that he doesn’t look like the pick of this particular litter.

  2. Not going to happen. The gop will make damn sure of it. We will get jed, or mcstain, or the like. There is only one party you know, the commicans, and they are all working together.

  3. Spurwing Plover says:

Whats his oppinion on Illegal aliens same sex marrage ,gun control traditional familie values and abortion?

  4. Disgusted Caucasian says:

I’d consider becoming a republican again just so I could help out in the primary.

  5. Hell yes, I’d vote for him in a heartbeat, I think he’d make a great prez. He has the balls to say what he thinks, and more importantly, he knows how to think.

If he did make it, then the only worry would be that he pulls what all presidents do, by trying to please everybody. You don’t run a nation by popularity polls.

    • bigtimer says:

That’s the only thing I worry about too. He can handle the msm just fine…but if he goes trying to please all, it’s over for me too.

  6. Cruz is ineligible to be President. father was not US citizen at time of his birth.

    • We’ll see…time will tell.

    • Neither is/was Obama. However, since Cruz won a straw poll, I’d say that the attendees of the Republican Leadership Conference feel that he is eligible. I doubt that they would have included him in such a vote if they felt otherwise.

Unless you are a Constitutional lawyer, or a lawyer that deals in citizenship cases, I’m going to have to side with the politicians in this case.

      • mauser98 says:

what does “feel” have to do with it? country is overloaded with lawyers. lets get an answer

        • So, who would you like to see be our next president?

          • Oh, he would probably like to see Obama get a third term.

And BTW, 98, “feel” as in believe. And while there are indeed too many lawyers in this country, the laws are currently made by politicians, many who started as lawyers.

If the Republican Leadership Council says Cruz is eligible, that’s good enough for me. Obama was in eligible to be prez, yet you evaded that issue, why?

          • Obama is / was never eligible to be POTUS. Obama Senior was never a US citizen.
neither are Cruz , Jindal , Rubio , Santorum. their fathers were not US citizens at time of birth. plain as day.
i like Cruz , but he is ineligible. and the GOP RINO’S who dispute this are only helping Barry Barack Hussein Dunham Soebarkah Bounel Soetoro Obama continue his crime spree.

          • mauser…

So, who would like to see become our next president?

          • mauser98 says:

R.Paul , Rubio went traitor with amnesty cave.. i want Trey Gowdy as President

        • Mauser,

You want to piss in everyone’s ice cream, that’s your choice, we don’t have to eat it, that’s our choice.

You may want to review what the requirements/qualifications are to be a U.S. President are, because to me they are kind of fuzzy and not very precise.

Now, instead of pissing in the ice cream again, how about you answer the question that Big Timer has asked you twice, and that you have ignored twice? Because I’m curious as to how you would answer myself.

          • mauser98 says:

wow … you must be a Rubio fan,,, got that knife out of your back yet? how about we un-fuzzy the POTUS requirements and you won’t have to eat yellow ice cream.
            Trey Gowdy for President!!

          • mauser98 says:

how about Vladimir Putin… he is as eligible as the Lyin’ Hawaiian

          • How about Ted Cruz for prez. At least he’s for America, has renounced his Canadian citizenship, has already made his education records and birth certificate public and is more qualified than our current shitbag in chief.

If the liberals can put an unqualified, muslim sympathizing, America hating, marxist with a foreign father in the White House, then conservatives should be allowed to put Cruz in the White House, at least he is for America. Oh, wait, that’s right, according to you, we can’t fight fire with fire, and have to play by the rules while the other side gets a pass to ignore the rules. With your way, the nation is shit out of luck. Gowdy won’t run, maybe you’d be happier with Juan McCain. Oh, wait, he wasn’t born in the U.S….

          • What about the Constitution? Dems break law with Bathhouse Barry in WH…2 wrongs do not make a right…
ignoring something does not make it go away. …makes it worse
Cruz is , and remains ineligible… sorry.

          • mauser98 says:

other than Gowdy i do not like any of them. all are amnesty fans. Boo Hoo Boner is a bigger traitor than the Lyin’ Hawaiian. …. GOP will never win with Boner , Rove , Preibus around. i truly believe Boner, Rove , McLame do not want to win any election.there purpose is to sabotage any GOP win………….. sumthin really stinks.

          • bigtimer says:

So, if Gowdy doesn’t run….and Cruz won the primary, does that mean you wouldn’t vote at all?

          • You should know, that by trying to occupy the moral and legal high ground, that you are condemning yourself to ultimate failure. If you pay attention to recent history and events you would understand that you don’t bring a knife to a gunfight. Those that take the moral path are called slaves by those that did what was necessary to win.

Cruz is more eligible than Obama, McCain, or even Pelosi. Sorry.

      • mauser98 says:

yikes bigtimer you are brutal…………. never said i would not vote… will have tough time. do not think i can hold my nose for the stench the GOP backstabbers will produce
….. for a fun time got to “AlterNet” site. drooling obots beyond belief… they want Hillary & Warren as ticket

        • bigtimer says:

Lol…hardly brutal in this instance. It was just a simple question out of curiosity…nothing more.

    • 100% correct Mauser. Cruz is NOT a natural born citizen (nor is Rubio), period, and therefore is ineligible. But why concern yourself with that? Hop aboard the hypocrite – look the other way Republican train with all the other righteous and dumbed down Republicans who will claim out of one side of their jaundiced mouths they support Our Constitution (for that matter pretend to know it – they don’t even know where the term “natural born citizen” originated and from whom…………) but will, out of the other side, violate same with their righteousness.

ps: Uncle Remus (Ben Carson) is simply a GOP plant with about as much qualification and competence as a rock. He just spews bot mot – feel good sound bites from his scruffy mouth out of the feel good sound bite GOP booklet.

      • But it’s perfectly ok with you that we have a sitting president that is also ineligible to hold the office he is in. Looks like you are the conductor on the hypocrite-look the other way train, aren’t ya?

Personally, I’ll vote for anyone who is going to hold America and Americans first, and believes in the Constitution. These days, that would usually mean someone who has lived under the yoke of communism, socialism, marxism, or any other -ism. They are the people who appreciate freedom, and are prepared to defend it.

It’s the know-it-alls like you who are bringing a knife to a gunfight and that think playing by the rules means you will win. This is the real world, and shit is changing, change with it or fade into history. If your opponent isn’t going to fight fair, then you damn sure had better not be fighting fair either.

        • Your insolent, ignorant assumption is altogether wrong. My “sentiments” toward the man who cannot pass a background check for starters are so “dedicated” I dare not express same to anyone other than family and the most trusted friend.

Beyond your aforementioned insolent handicap…….., life is too short to go around being ignorant, worst of all by choice as it most demonstrably shows in your case. Then, of course, your righteous willingness/hypocrisy to defy the Constitution. I pity you. And yours..

      • bigtimer says:

Calling Ben Carson Uncle Remus is a disgusting tactic reserved for the filthy progressives. And, if Cruz runs…he has my vote. I also stand with the Carson too. So stick that in your pipe and smoke it.

        • No, it’s NOT a “disgusting tactic” (reserved for the filthy progressives) for an outright GOP prop out of nowhere who, scruffy from head to toe and not the least bit qualified nor competent in the least stands before a collective of beyond dumbed down GOP ignoramae quoting nothing more than sound bites from the GOP feel good playbook – which have been previously stated by millions for decades, but I digress………… and being regarded for same as being “brilliant”, “genius”. Only an utter fool could not see through this planted con artist huckster and the puppeteers behind him.

          It’s all kabuki.
Oh, by the way, how is that Benghazi “investigation” going……….? Just askin.

          • Since you’re so all knowing, why ask me?

          • So, in a nutshell: anyone who disagrees with your enlightened opinion is insolent.

Conservatives have to play by the rules, liberals can make up the rules as they go.

It’s ok for you to make racist comments, but no one else can.

You seem to have no problem with those double standards, and I’m the insolent ignorant one?

You are about the most ill informed troll that’s been here in a while.

You are also a delusional idiot.

            That about cover it?

      • mauser98 says:

we are in a heap o’ trouble. will only get worse

  7. Comanche says:

Just yesterday, we were talking about who we would like to see run for President. A requirement for us is that the candidate must be a Statesman and resurrect our Foreign Policy. That pretty much eliminated everybody. So we go to the “B” team. The short list included Cruz, Perry. Situation is pretty dire. Sad there is no one out there to lead the Nation out of this morose in either party.

  8. I think as his mother was an American citizen he would also be one.Thats for the courts to decide if they choose to take it up.How about him and Ben Carson as a team ? That would make the Moonbats heads explode ! I can see “Tingles” going postal on his little watched show, spittle flying…

  9. Only two people I know I would vote for ….Ted and Trey….

well unless Lars runs…….cause it`s time we had a primate in the primary..!!!!

  10. aceydoozy says:

I’d vote for him, he’s my #1 choice, and his Pop’d make a good SOS, the two have more respect for the Constitution and how the USA was founded than the entire democrat party plus the RINO elite; but, to speculate that he’s “coasting” is dangerous.

    • bigtimer says:

Lol…maybe I shouldn’t have used that word. Never thought of it in the way you mean it. Kinda of like Shrillary thought she was last time around. Anyway…I certainly didn’t mean it that way at all. He’d be in the fight for his life with the bigwigs in the GOP as it is.

  11. bigtimer says:

Here’s some more from Cruz today…

  12. Here’s Cruz from tonight on the Kelly File…see what you think.

  13. Come on, guys. I cannot believe that you guys are so dumb and clueless as to NOT see that Ted Cruz is just another in a long line of Israel First, toe sucking traitorous politicians. I mean this guy just got back from an audition in Tel Aviv for the Number One ‘Donkey Fellator’ job.

On top of that, take a look at what this Cruz worm had to say about the mass murdering, viciously anti-white terrorist Nelson Mandela – and this came directly from Ted Cruz to everyone who is on his mailing list:

“Sen. Cruz honored former South African President Nelson Mandela’s passing and expressed gratitude for his many years of service:

“Nelson Mandela will live in history as an inspiration for defenders of liberty around the globe. He stood firm for decades on the principle that until all South Africans enjoyed equal liberties he would not leave prison himself, declaring in his autobiography, ‘Freedom is indivisible; the chains on any one of my people were the chains on all of them, the chains on all of my people were the chains on me.’ Because of his epic fight against injustice, an entire nation is now free.

“We mourn his loss and offer our condolences to his family and the people of South Africa.”

Mourning the long overdue ‘loss’ of this black terrorist and mass murdering snake is the kind of qualifications that the readers of this website think are suitable for a President?

    • Poupon Marks says:

Knowledgeable people know the POS Mandela was. However, the majority of Boobus Americanus knows only what is spoon fed to him on the supine, lame stream media. And that’s when the commercials are on the sports channels, and our schlemiel hits the news channel while surfing with the remote.

  14. One more very important point about Cruz – he supports INCREASING the number of H-1B Visa slots, so fat cat, greedy Corporations can lay off American IT workers and then hire third worlders who will be willing to work for scale wages. This is raw treason, no matter how you decide to slice it.

This also has the effect of lowering salaries across the board, and places native born American IT talent in competition for jobs with these low wage, foreign H-1B Visa people who are willing to work for scale and who don’t expect any benefits along with their salaries.

Ted Cruz might be great on the 2nd Amendment, and he might be great on opposing amnesty for millions of low IQ, low skill, poorly educated illegal aliens who’ll become lifetime democrat voters, but the guy is a backstabbing rat who’s dagger is aimed squarely at the backs of White middle class families who’s careers are negatively impacted by these H-1B Visa scabs from the third world.

    • Poupon Marks says:

Even IF that were true, the Nation has much more serious problems, like survival and continued existence as a democratic republic.

Here’s his take from his website:

WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) today presented an amendment to the Gang of Eight immigration bill that would improve our nation’s legal immigration system by increasing high-skilled temporary worker visas, called H-1B visas, by 500 percent. The measure would effectively address the needs of our nation’s high-skilled workforce by helping meet the growing demand for workers in the science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) fields. It will also make block grants available to states to promote STEM education efforts and increase domestic STEM professionals. The committee voted against the amendment 4 to 14 with every Democrat voting against it on a party-line vote.

“I strongly support legal immigration. Legal immigration is a fundamental pillar of our nation’s heritage, and I was pleased today to offer legislation that would have improved and expanded legal immigration by dramatically increasing the cap for high-tech temporary worker visas. This amendment would not only improve the current system, but would also encourage economic growth and create new jobs in America. There is currently a serious shortage of workers in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and math, yet every year we send thousands of high-tech graduate students back to their home countries to start businesses and create jobs. This makes no sense. I’m disappointed in the committee’s vote to reject expanding high-tech immigration. Although the Gang of Eight’s bill makes a modest step towards improving high-tech immigration, it does not go nearly far enough. There is no reason to arbitrarily cap high-tech visas at 110,000 when these jobs are going unfilled. We need economic growth here and now.”

      Sen. Cruz’s amendment would:

Immediately increase the H-1B cap by 500 percent from 65,000 to 325,000.

To truly fix our broken immigration system and take into account our nation’s economic needs, we must put more emphasis on increasing employment-based immigration. There is a current shortage of qualified high-skilled workers in the U.S., with an estimated 230,000 advanced-degree STEM jobs going unfilled by 2018.
Additionally, more H-1B workers mean more jobs for American workers – according to a study by the American Enterprise Institute, for every additional 100 H-1B workers, 183 jobs are created for U.S. citizens.
Help retain the high-skilled workers that are trained in the U.S. by allowing “dual intent.”

This would allow foreign students at U.S. colleges and universities to enter the U.S. on a temporary H-1B visa if they intend to get a Green Card once they complete their studies.
Currently, about 300,000 students come to America annually to be educated, but are required to return home upon completing their education.
Create block grants for states to promote STEM education in their public schools by raising H-1B fees.

These block grants will encourage educating our children in these high demand fields, opening more doors of opportunity to future generations. According to the Joint Economic Committee, between 2010 and 2020, demand for STEM graduates is expected to grow by 17 percent, while employment for those graduates will increase only 14 percent, partly because American graduates are not available or qualified to fill these jobs.
The block grant program would be funded by raising H-1B fees from $750 to $1,250 for businesses with fewer than 25 employees, and from $1,500 to $2,500 for those with 25 or more employees.

    • Tucker…so , since you despise Cruz so much via your reasoning, just who would you like to see become our next president?

      • Tucker seems to be a Union supporter who fails to understand that for the last 15 or so years, American education has been subverted and dumbed down to the point that we have no one who is able to fill those high skill jobs. He seems to prefer that we hire graduates of our screwed up education system so that the retard hires can further slow down the nations recovery to prosperity.

This is not a person who supports America. He would probably want Shrillary for Prez in ’16.

Tucker is also proof that fools are in abundance in this country these days.

  15. Poupon Marks says:

He’s had my vote for some time. VP candidates: Mike Lee, Ben Carson, Jeff Sessions, are stellar.
Cruz is real. His father, wife, and extended family are on his side of the spectrum. His whole life history leads up to who is today. Solid to the core.

The closer you look at him, the more you see Reagan and Thatcher and Churchill. Palin for Sec of Interior

    • Damn skippy, PM, his father came from Cuba, he knows what its like to live under a communist dictatorship.

If the left can excuse the current communist in chiefs ineligibility, then I can overlook Cruz’ possible ineligibility, though he is still more eligible for the oval office than Ovomit.
