Yes, you are correct that certain philosophies and ways of life arise from many sources and choices. Absolutism has created many problems and one should keep a watchful eye out for it.

AWD, however, is both a site and a person (I believe, as I am going out on a limb here) where political-correctness is seen as anathema to a once-great nation. We have too long been told to sympathize, empathize and “accept.” The watering-down of the general discussion can be attributed to this, perhaps.

Absolutes, therefore, are a welcome shock to the system. Sort of like putting a lot of acid in a swimming pool to kill algae. Too much absolutism on the side of liberals has steered the national conversation too far to the left. Maybe we need that type of absolutism (right) to steer it back?

What I can’t understand is why this is not a national headliner. Both of our nations are so self absorbed with petty PC, that the real issues just never seem to surface.
Kinda like rescuing a kitty when a man is being beat to death on the next street corner.
