Ever noticed that liberal “comedians” are not funny? They are mean, bitter and sarcastic but don’t make you laugh. I used to watch David Letterman’s show back in the mid-eighties. It was funny, fresh and unpredictable. Like Saturday Night Live, Letterman has long passed his expiration date. He has turned into a cantankerous jerk who is painful to watch. Just like fellow lib non-comedians Al Franken, Janeane Garofalo, Richard Belzer (what a tool!) and Wanda Sykes. I’m sure I’m leaving out many others.
Letterman hit a new low with revelations he preyed on young female staffers working for him. The inside word has it there was an unwritten rule on how to get ahead working for Dave. I guess we now know how Paul Schaffer has survived all those years. Paul doesn’t even come close to funny…he is just plain annoying. Letterman even kept a secret bedroom above his studio where he could slip off and do his thing. Letterman is the walking definition of a sexual harassment lawsuit. I get the feeling the surface has just been scratched on this story. My guess is over the next few weeks, we’ll hear from many more young lovelies who have tried to please the boss and are now anxious to cash in.
Letterman is, really, the perfect liberal. An arrogant, lying, cheating scumbag with no morals. The type who can ridicule a family like the Palins who are trying to deal with the unwed pregnancy of a daughter and make sexual jokes of a minor. Letterman has over the years ridiculed many for peccadilloes he himself was committing. He married his shack up girlfriend of 20 years so she could find her husband had been screwing around the entire time. Liberals have virtually no standards when it comes to morality. Look at how they have rallied around child rapist Roman Polanski. However, liberals will demonize scumbag South Carolina Republican Governor Mark Sanford for “hiking the Appalaichians” while doing the same thing themselves. They will hound any Republican for any moral issue but support Barney Fwank for running a homo brothel out of his DC residence! There is no low low enough for liberals. Conservatives, on the other hand, require their politicians to abide by a higher standard. Republican want their scumbags to retire and go away. Liberals support and promote theirs.
This has to have Sarah Palin smiling. Even after everything Letterman has done to torture her with mean-spirited attempts at humor, she has shown herself to be classy. I am smiling because this is one of those “what comes around goes around” moments. What is interesting, but not surprising, is CBS has not fired Letterman’s ass. Once the lawsuits start coming in and CBS starts writing checks with a lot of zeros, we’ll see if they continue to support Letterman. My guess is he is pretty much finished. He’s not funny, nobody watches him and now he’s a sexual predator of CBS employees. Wow! Perfect liberal! Maybe he should run for the Senate or something!
This kind of shit makes me sad to be a man. I remember in 5th grade, my buddy Earl (I shit you not that’s his name and I’m not making it up for this site or the purposes of this story) and I idolized Johnny Carson. We even did this big videotaped bruhaha for one of our reports that year. 1986 I believe and I think I was Carson and Earl was Ed. The point is that no matter where you look, if you are an older male with some sort of prestige, you are being idolized by a young boy. Even if their parents are doing everything right, you might be an influence on a child. Screwing your intern is never a good idea, especiallly when you’re married.
Especially when you have a wife and child. I could only imagine what my son would say if he caught me kissing someone besides his mother. I don’t even want to know. I, furthermore don’t want to know what his sisters would think. I would run from the fact that their mother might know of my indiscretions. And then I’d run a bit farther. And then I’d bury myself. Deep.
Letterman Hoax:
This whole affair is just another CBS publicity stunt in order to offset Letterman’s disasterous ratings and to counteract claims that he’s as gay as pink champagne. Hollywierds engaging in extra-curricular AC/DC sex is not even a news item anymore. Most of these celebs, politicians included, have the morals of alley cats in heat. In any case, this is purely theoretical: Letterman needs injections of Industrial Strength Viagra just to get him limp.
Another loser soon to be written off. Good riddance.

Could not agree more with your post…never have watched letterman, never liked his “humor”. I don’t know about cbs dumping him…they should, of course, but isn’t he in the #1 position (no pun intended) on late night TV? After all cbs pulled all of the videos of his mea culpa.

People like him destroy families, and the family is the structure that forms the base of a society. If you destroy the family, you destroy America. What happened to our values and our morals? What happened to us?
My own opinion on this is that we have forgotten our christian values, we have forgotten God. America was founded on the principle “In God we trust”, not on “in Liberalism, corruption, money, sex and power we trust”.
I cannot loath more anything that has to do with “adultery” and “sexual predators”. It happened to me (I got cheated on by my former wife), and I can tell you there are things more painful than death itself, and this is one. I would not wish it even to my worse enemy……Just talking about it makes me SO ANGRY!
Liberals are the rotten core that is spreading like a cancer within our society. It is said in the holy bible that you can judge a tree by the fruits it produces…well, when you see bitter fruits like Letterman, it makes you wonder.

CBS doesn’t own Letterman, he owns his own show (Worldwide Pants). Could they dump him? Sure they could. Considering he’s #1 in late night, it’s highly unlikely and sure would be foolish. There’d be a scramble among the networks to see who could offer him the best deal since he has a huge following. And Letterman gay?? You’ve got to be shitting me…

Ahhhh, what comes around goes around! I agree that Letterman used to be funny once! I also think that if you still watch him, well, even if you don’t, you should get in touch with his advertisers and tell them that you will not use their products if they continue to advertise on his show!
That would put him out to pasture quickly! Exactly where he should have gone long ago!

The funniest comedians have always been on the left, further on the left than Letterman and his safe ilk. Pryor, Carlin, Lenny Bruce, SNL, come on. who makes the right laugh? Jackie Mason?
And whatever sleaze LEtterman was involved with doesn’t come close to the hypocritical behavior of all the right wing politicos that preach family values, demonize others, and then go and bof like crazy.
Perhaps Letterman will become a better man after this…heaven only knows… At least now I see why he thought his joke about Sarah Palin’s daughter was funny and all he did was defend himself about it and never did actually aplogize. In fact has he actually apologized for his affairs?? Being defensive on air is not repentance. Sad Sad Sad. Perhaps his wife is the caring kind and will still forgive him…then leave for her own mental wellbeing!!
As far as Richard Belzer being a “tool,” that is his “act.” So for some folks, he may not be their funny cup of tea.
At least Belzer is still married to his beautiful wife and very, very very faithfully loyal to her. (so in that respect he will always have my respect). I met Richard and privately he is a shy and gentle guy.
He and I don’t always agree on everything, but at least we can discuss our personal opinions without calling each other racists!
He and his wife helped me through a spiritual crisis without jeopardizing their relationship with each other…

Letterman was funny at one time, very hard to watch over the past 5 years. Thought the Heart Attack would tone him down, but he is much worse.

He didn’t have to apologize. Although Letterman still came across defensively rather than repentedly, he did publically try to take responsibility for his previous actions. That part was commendable. Not personally naming the women was also commendable.
His previous actions (IMHO) were not… In the past I would have held a grudge, saying this guy is just another jerk like all the other jerks in the world taking advantage of women who fall all over them.
But I have decided to forgive him and keep him in my prayers…
P.S. This message is not so I can someday get on the David Letterman show or any other late night talk show… it is just cause forgiveness is a great high and feels better! It’s just cause I’m one of those quirky kooks made out of leftover dough, after God made all those kookie-kutter people!

First of all, its very questionable how “right wing” some of those comedians are. Belzer is a Democrat, supported Kerry and Obama. Cosby has not exactly been a champion of the right. Jeff Foxworthy’s show Are you smarter than a 5th grader is more tragedy than comedy. Carson was no right winger either. And none of the rest hold a candle to the names I mentioned as far as illuminating the madness of society in hilarious ways.

The mention of those names wasn’t to say any of them were right or left wing or had wings at all. Just trying to answer who might make someone laugh… and yes society is quite mad…
