Angry White Dude doesn’t discuss Christian religion very often. As long as they’re not cutting of heads of non-believers, I tend to leave Christians alone. After all, common sense dictates showing respect for what someone else holds sacred. That being said, I have wondered for a long, long time what is going on with the Catholic Church in reference to child molestations! If “by their fruits ye shall know them,” the Catholic Church seems to have a lot of rotten fruit!
Recently, Nova Scotia Bishop Raymond Lahey had his laptop seized last month at Ottawa’s airport. He was acting strange on returning to Canada and his passport showed stamps for many southeast Asian countries…known for child prostitution and pornography. Police found sexually explicit photos of boys as young as 8 years old on Lahey’s computer! By now, this story is like a broken record! How many bishops and priests have to be found abusing children? There is nothing but silence from the Pope or Cardinals of the Catholic church concerning this disgusting pattern of abuse!
I’m sure every religion has it’s wackos from time to time but nothing has come close to the widespread patterns of child sexual abuse at the hands of leaders of the Catholic Church. What is equally disturbing as the reports of abuse are the cover-ups and hiding evidence by Catholic leadership. Nearly every part of the United States has seen some pervert Priest who molested children for decades! Dallas had one, Phoenix another. Cardinal Bernard Law of Boston resigned as head of the Boston dioscese but was allowed to remain a Cardinal with full voting rights. Like many other Catholic leaders, Law had hidden evidence and moved molesters around to hide their perversions and crimes! Law was allowed to move to Italy to work in the Vatican by invitation of Pope John Paul II and escape police investigation. This type of cover-up should not be tolerated by Catholics and it definitely raises red flags on the Catholic Church itself!
As a parent, I would never permit my child to be alone with a Priest. I believe a large part of the problem Catholics have is the vow of celibacy that Priests must take. Sexuality is part of human make-up and controlling sexual urges is what separates us from animals (and liberals). However, expecting a lifetime of celibacy for a man seems to be dangerous and impossible. I believe the results of that vow are now obvious.
I know there are many devout Catholics who do much good in the world. From the outside looking in, it seems to me the Catholic Church is corrupt from the top down. There are too many instances of abuse and cover-up to sweep under the rug. And they don’t seem to be slowing down! I have also wondered how the Catholic Church can have so many members who call themselves Catholic but don’t follow the teachings of the Church. While the Church is staunchly anti-abortion, any Catholic Democrat in Washington is staunchly pro-abortion. Yet they remain in the church. If the Church cannot control it’s members, how can they expect to reign in perverted, sexually-confused Priests in power? Or, do they care?
If I were Catholic, I’d have some very pointed questions I’d be asking of Church leadership.

Nothing that hasn’t gone on for centuries..
Priests are faggot pervs, Nuns like the altar boys too, and that’s as perv as it gets, and the Roman Catholic Church still pretty much ignores it, hides it, transfers it to a different parish, maybe a different nation and on a rare occasion, they acknowledge it and make a pay-off to the victim.
I say, let the priests into the convent on the night of the full moon every month. Let them get their ya-ya’s out and screw eachother all night until dawn. Make a new holiday out of it, celibacy be damned! Any children born out of wedlock from these torrid midnight trysts would wind up as local parish “door prizes” on Hollow-weenie, Christmas and Easter. After a while they could change the ground rules to twice a month, and then eventually to every night. After awhile, a nun would turn to a priest and say, “Not tonight honey, I have a headache”.
At least today the liturgy is in English, and not in mumbo-jumbo Latin. It’s takes a lot more to fool white folks these days.
It seems that there are some factual erros in the article.
Percentage-wise, a child is much more likely to be molested in public school by a teacher than a priest. You never hear about those cases since they don’t make nationwide news. I will post some links to the studies when I can find them.
Thank being said, catholic’s have definately lost their way. I renounced when they elected the current socialist pope.
I am not a catholic. That being said, the problem is the same that has plagued every church I have ever heard of, that being politics and money. I’ll go no farther into it other than to say that when you mix politics money and religion, righteousness takes last place.

Some Misconceptions, the article wasn’t about teachers. It was about the Catholic church and the widespread abuse of children hidden by leadership. I think we would expect much more of those who are supposed “men of God” than teachers.

I went to Catholic school for 12 yrs. What has happened is the queers made a decision decades ago to pervert the Church and they have used the Church’s forgiving tolerance to take over it’s American leadership and destroy it. To see true Catholicism, look to the rest of the Church, not the perverted national leadership. Even at that, they are still opposing Obamacare because of abortion. I’ve seen dozens of GOOD Priests and Nuns, don’t tar them all because they are being attacked by the queers.
The real problem is that priests can’t marry. If you demand celibacy, you will get fags. Some fundies interpret the Bible such that the pastors must be strong leaders of their own homes and children before they are qualified to be leaders in the church. Unmarried childless men are not eligible. I think the Amish do the same. They draw straws from the eligible men. Oldest draws first.
Also at one point the Dept. of Ed. started a study of how many kids were molested by public school teachers. They stopped it because the evidence so was damning. I will have to look up the reference.

You’re absolutely right, the Romans instituted celibacy for the church leaders; i.e., priests, nuns, bishops, cardinals and the pope, because these people were selected from the higher strata of society. If these people do not reproduce, you’re left with a lower peasant class that is incapable of leadership and incapable of organizing a revolt. It was an early way to control the population by selective breeding of the lowest common denominators. Add to this mix the mumbo-jumbo liturgy of Latin and the common people are finished as a competent force for the government to deal with. That’s what you get when you mix a man-made religion with absolute power: absolute corruption.

For all the Catholic bashers go back and read the post. There is a higher percentage of sex abuse cases in other religions than there is Catholics. I didn’t do the study. Was Ted Haggard a Catholic. Was Larry Craig a Catholic. Was Jimmy Swaggard a Catholic. The Catholic Church has over a billion members worldwide. There is almost a half million Catholic priests. The percentage of Catholic priests committing sex crimes is a lower than Prostestants. The liberal media hate the Catholic CHurch and that is the reason the priest abuse scandal is blown out of proportion. Just more anti-God heathens trying to bring down the Church.

Duncan, I’m not trying to bring the Catholic church down. How could I? But let Priests keep molesting children and it will bring itself down. Especially when the Church hierarchy seems to have a record of protecting the guilty. Also, I don’t think Larry Craig or Jimmy Swaggart molested children…although I agree they are scumbags. My point is there are sodomites in all religions, but the Catholic Church catches all the hell because it is the oldest and biggest Christian Church in the world. Normally it will be the MSM with the Catholic bashing. Hardly ever do they cover a story of any other religion and sexually molesting children. It happens all over. The reason why catholic Priest can’t marry is because during the Mediaeval times the Pope had children,engaged in homosexual relationships, fought in wars, and among other things. The church decided that church leaders should not marry and should not have offspring, because of inheritance. During that time Popes were performing nepotism and giving their children inheritance from the church.

I agree with everything you said except one part: I wouldn’t say the Catholic Church is the “oldest” church in the world. That’s one thing I don’t understand. Where do Catholics get the idea that their church is the original church instituted by Jesus? I don’t mean to start a denominational argument, but that really bugs me.

ehem. HISTORY LESSON. The Roman Catholic Church was founded originally by Emperor Constantine, in around 150 CE (give or take a few years). A bit more than a hundred. The Christians then proceeded to destroy, sack and pillage just about… everything. Rome falls, and we get the Dark Ages.
The Catholic Church then proceeds to convert all the “pagans” and ruled with an iron grip all the way until the 1600′s.
The Catholic Church has been paved in blood and war, with stolen money. I am not condemning them, simply stating their history.
This is a story about an incident that occurred. A child was molested, trust violated. This has NOTHING to do with the Catholic Church’s history. Regretfully, these things happen. They happen in an and all organizations, regardless of marital status (in fact, most child molesters are HETEROSEXUAL and MARRIED).
And the Catholic Church is one of the most conservative institutions in the world! They don’t even advocate birth control officially!
