It’s been a day for ye olde Angry White Dude! Instead of revving up the old noggin to write something deep or witty (shut up…I know what you’re thinking), I want to post the most annoying song ever written, recorded, performed and/or listened to! It’s called What’s Up by 4 Non-Blondes. This song makes me want to scratch out my ear drums with a rusty fork. Instead of making you suffer through the whole thing, I’ll just direct your attention to 2:25 to about minute 3 in this horrendous, vile assault on your ears. You’ll know what I mean.
The bad thing about that annoying aural assault is it will be stuck in your head for a while. If anyone has a song more annoying, I’d like to hear it..I think. Rap doesn’t count because it’s not music.
Tonight’s open post gives you lots to discuss. Senators diverting last minute funds for the military to a bunch of pork projects like $20 million for a educational institution named after Edward Kennedy. Maybe it’s a defensive driving college. Or an aquatics school. Or a Alcoholics Anonymous school. Or a…you get the picture. Our elected politicians just can’t seem to understand they are spending money not yet created…but they keep on spending! Or you can discuss Olympia Snowe voting with the Dims….or the Texas/Oklahoma game tomorrow. Or just about anything you want….see if I care.

That’s what I called them the first time my wife and I saw that video years ago, I alway thought it was named “What’s Going On” though…. Sorry, not a fan.
I later suggested they should change their name to “Lickity Split.”

Our beloved Sen.Thad Cochran(R-MS) was one of the many to add a few of the 778 or so earmarks in that defense bill. He is definitely on my voted out list.
And news from that bastion of hope and peace, Great Britain, Dutch MP Geert Wilders meets a few rowdy protesters. And people wonder why some question Muslims. Enjoy…might want to get a blood pressure med for this one.

Gawd, I felt like I was transported back to the 60′s. Didn’t care much for the lyrics but the music was pretty decent. I would listen to this any day over (c)rap music.

Congress is such a mess 10 unwanted C-17′s and an unwanted destroyer while our troops get less training and bullets than they need. Congress should have to be in one real firefight in Afghanistan before voting on appropriations again. I bet there would be no more funding for a kennedy drunk institute in the next bill.

I don’t know what kind of music you listen to, but coming from a guy who loves progressive (not that kind of progressive) rock and metal, this is nothing but irritating to my musical palette!
I like thinking mans music. This crap is kind of like being a liberal – no thinking required.

Consider it torture listening to more than a few seconds of Michael Bolton. But, Michael stands high above the hip hop, with its loud imposing boom.
This makes me think of war, and maybe that’s what it is.
I’m in a minority with Pink Floyd: I just don’t get them at all. I’ve never heard any PF album all the way through.
Speaking of Michael Bolton: he was the opening act for Bob Seger in 1983 (he was trying to be a solo hard rocker after being in a band called Blackjack). I never thought that he’d be a star based on the set I saw in ’83

The huge percentage of Rap sales are to white men. Look it up, it’s true. White men are who are behind the entire hip hop industry.
Blacks put forward what is essentially a stereotypical minstrel show for racist white men for the money. White men love it since most of them are sick, freakish, racist and evil people naturally and adore seeing another race degradate themselves for their pleasure.
As bad as that music vid is, it’s still better than:

HowWhiteMenAre, I too despise the white elites who put forth this certain genre of “music.” Rap music is harming both whites and blacks. The commercialization of rap music constantly bombards blacks with negative stereotypes that compel many to behave in dysfunctional ways. Rap music harms whites by encouraging the rise of wiggers and implanting the desire to be black among many vulnerable white kids. So don’t get me wrong, I too have nothing but contempt for those rich white men who promote rap “music.” However, I am afraid I must take you to task for your assertion that white men are naturally freakish, sick, and evil. I could just as easily make biological arguments regarding blacks. You know, blacks must be naturally dumb (due to their low IQ scores), promiscuous (illegitimacy rates), and prone to disease (HIV/AIDS infection rates and diabetes epidemic in many black communities.) Of course, I know that there is no empirical proof that black biology is responsible for all of these failings. I attribute poor schools and poor cultural values, which are partly due to this nation’s history of racism and discrimination and black self-inflicted wounds. While I do not deny that had blacks not been subjected to centuries of inhumane treatment, they would not be in such a wretched state, some of the fault also lies with them. Why is it that in 1950, before any major civil rights advances, approximately 80% of black kids were born to two parent households? Even in 1970 following major urban race riots, 60% of black kids were still born to two parent households. While blacks are not responsible for their impoverished conditions or lower social status, they are responsible for their dysfunctional and destructive behavior. Much of that dysfunction is reflected in rap “music,” regardless of shady white promoters.

There is-I even used to like a song or two by some of these artists. However, as soon as they decided NOT to “shut up & sing”, I decided that I am obligated to withdraw All FINANCIAL SUPPORT FOR THESE ARTISTS. They’re free to think & say whatever they wnt to-they’re just not entitled to any more of my $$$. Its my perogative to encourage other like-minded individuals to consider doing the same.
