WHAT TO DO WITH ISLAM IN AMERICA OPEN POST
AMERICA IS NOT SMILING!
I’m curious to hear from the dudes about what we should do about the growing Muslim problem in America. In the past few months we have seen several arrests of Muslims planning or trying to commit terrorism in America. Most were here illegally. We have also seen legal Muslim immigrants involved in (dis) honor killings like the Iraqi father in Arizona who ran over and killed his 20 year old daughter because she was embracing western standards. This week we saw a Muslim military officer shoot over 30 people at Ft. Hood. Heaven knows what the investigation turns up. My guess he was involved with Al Qaeda. Muslim violence is growing and it is a short matter of time until one of these terrorists doesn’t run his mouth on the internet and kills a bunch of us!
AWD has shared my beliefs about what should be done with Muslims over the months. I am curious to hear yours. Don’t come out and say, “kill them all.” I’m not interested in hearing that. It’s not going to and should not happen. However, what sensible steps do you recommend?

Ok, so far I’ve heard one example of someone who actually talked to Muslims and it was at least twenty years ago. Has anyone else actually had any real interactions with Muslims? I ask because it seems as though I may be the only one who has actually interacted with them for any length of time. Yes, I do believe that Muslims and Arabs can make contributions to western society. 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10…the Arabic numeral system, while developed by the Indians (from India, not American Indians), was brought to Europe by Muslims.
The reason I go back to the Crusades is because it’s relevant. The Crusades didn’t just kill Muslims. 12000 Jews were killed as the army of the first crusade passed through the Rhine Valley. How was that because of Muslim aggression.
The majority of the Muslims I have encountered have absolutely no problem with someone being a different religion. They think you’re wrong but that’s no different from the Christian cult I grew up in believing that if you didn’t go the church then you were going to hell.
I was with Charlie Company, 1st Battalion, 6th Marines. I went to Ramadi, Iraq and Garmsir, Afghanistan. I’ve lost friends to insurgents and I’ve probably killed more insurgents than most of you have seen on television. I say this not as a boast, but instead, as a way of showing that I know “how Muslims are”. The extremists are the problem…not the normal ones.

…and by the way, I have in my lifetime been around Muslims…I had no problem, in fact most that I encountered were conservatives and loved this country…but we are in a different time now regarding the Radical Extremists that want Jihad against us…all of us dead…at the expense of being political correct 24/7…it will kill millions if we keep this up and do nothing when we know they are dangerous and have connections.
The Mosques are full of them, they use the Mosques as a safe zone…and no, I don’t mean all of them, but enough.

I have only been retired from the Army since 2005 and I really don’t things have changed all that much – but – my question is how in the hell did this jamoke keep a security clearance????????
It used to be that all officers and senior NCO’s had to have at least a confidential clearance; however this guy was interviewing / counseling soldiers with various issues such as post traumatic stress so I would imagine that sort of position would require a secret clearance at a minimum and more likely a top secret clearance.
I can’t believe that PC has gone so far that the Army would overlook poor OER’s and the – and – on top that – this guy was known for associating with radical islamics?
If we have dead and wounded soldiers and civilians because of Political correctness then there needs to be some courts-martial’s in some officers future.

One of my friends is a Muslim. She’s from Malaysia, which in all fairness is actually fairly open and accepting. So, while I don’t think all Muslims are bad, the ones that are against the extremists are just simply not willing to confront them on the issues, but instead give the usual BS excuses we have heard a million times. Much like the local Imam that held a small meeting. It was the same worn out excuses.

You may have been burned,in your past,by your experiences with the “religion” of Christianity,I understand more on the subject than you know,I assure you.
The “faith” of Christianity is what matters,embracing and defending the twisted “virtues” of Islam will not help you reconcile your past experiences with Christianity.
And yes Josh,I have known many a Muslim,I have worked with them,attended college with them and I have had meaningful interaction with them.
My conclusion of Islam remained and remains the same..

My experience comes, not from a physical fitness test, but from nine months in Iraq and seven months in Afghanistan interacting with Muslims every day. Unless you have that much interaction with Muslims then I believe that would give me more experience with them. So you go ahead spouting your useless accusations while I will try to fight the real threats to America (which I will go over in a little bit).

I am still a Christian. My past experiences with Christianity are not what leads me to defend most Muslims. What leads me to defend most Muslims is my aforementioned interaction with them. The reason I am defending them on here is that I see a lot of potential in the people on here. The problem is that ya’ll are focusing on the wrong thing.

The main threat to our country is not the majority of Muslims. The most dangerous threat to our country (by far) is the despicable apathy of my generation and the one before. We who are supposed to be the next leaders of America have few representatives of our generation who are not completely brainless and/or lazy to the point of ridiculousness. If it doesn’t immediately affect us then the vast majority of my generation simply does not give a shit, to put it bluntly. Then comes the complete ineptitude of our elected officials. I have yet to hear from a congressman who has read the healthcare bill and yet they are voting on it, one way or another. I continue to try to fight this by informing my peers about issues facing us every day but they just don’t care and it sickens me. They were raised thinking that everything will just be given to them. So you go ahead with your distraction and your blaming people while I will continue to fight the losing battle to get my generation off it’s lazy ass.

Josh, I agree with you that the main problem is not Islam in America; I’d diagnose it as “modern liberalism” (for lack of a better term)–of which laziness and ineptide are just a few of its symptoms (can you say “entitlement mentality”!).
On the Islam topic, I still am not convinced that it brings anything to the West except problems. I certainly haven’t been immersed in Muslim culture to the extent you have, but I’ve known my fair share of Muslims, both here and abroad–sports, school, work, the neighborood, travel–even dormed with a Muslim exchange student for a year. I’ve never met a Muslim I didn’t like–they were all very decent people. But for me, that doesn’t trump the incessant sudden-mass-murder-in-the-name-of-Allah syndrome that seems to pop up wherever and whenever. Your point about “go in, kill everyone, get out” certainly is effective in dismantling extremist networks, but I don’t know how effective that would be in stopping a guy like Hasan. If he weren’t Muslim, would he ever have done what he did?
Per your points about the numeral system, the Crusades, etc., I hear this all the time whenever Islam comes up in conversation up here in deep-blue country. Robert Spencer, amongst others, does a pretty good job of dismantling these arguments (e.g., “The Politically Incorrect Guide to Islam and the Crusades”). Also, thereligionofpeace.com takes on these points too, to some effect. Not sure if you’ve checked them out, but I find them to be informative.
But yes, this is a lesser issue compared to the greater problem of a cultural that has completely lost its way in terms of work ethic, personal responsibility, etc.
I wonder if the recession driving so many people into the armed services will help mitigate the latest generation’s [continued] slide into sloth and turpitude?
I would glady fire the fatal round into this bozo’s chest cavity or better yet, slightly above the bridge of his nose. As an Army veteran (101st Abn.) I would hope military justice will come swiftly. All of the following is to be read with an understanding that as a fellow ex-soldier, I appreciate your service to this country as much as anyone could…but…
Your belief when you were young that not going to church would sent you to hell shows that you did not have any understanding of the Christian faith, so I must “assume” with the risks of “assuming” that you probably have about that much understanding of the Muslim faith. Which is close to nil. I have, in my life experiences, spent time around Muslims, and I am convinced that the only Muslims that do not practice jihad, “the peaceful Muslims” as some people refer to them, are only peaceful because they do not practice what the Koran tells them. Their faith is a violent, murderous faith no matter how many times you or anyone else says otherwise. They are commanded to kill the infidel. That is me and anyone else who does not convert to Islam or pay to not be killed. There are many “Christians” who say they are Christian, as you claim to be, that do not follow all the teachings in the Holy Bible. Just because you may not agree with the beliefs put forth in the Bible does not change any facts in the Bible. So just because every Muslim does not currently wage jihad on the infidels does not change the fact that the Koran commands them to do so. A peaceful Muslim is to me “a jihadist in waiting”. What happens when this peaceful Muslim starts understanding what is in the Koran and starts living by his faith.
