Like AWD’s brother says, “the ones you suspect the most…usually are!” I had a pretty good idea that Adam Lambert was a “sensitive guy” last year when AWD’s little filly was watching American Idol. AWD doesn’t have a strong sense of gaydar, but this Lambert kid walked and quacked. I do, however, have a very strong sense of black-dar…I can almost always instantly tell when someone is black. Not that I really care what Adam Lambert does on his personal time with his little friends. But last night he kissed another sensitive guy and pulled another poofter’s face into his crotch during a performance on the American Music Awards. AWD didn’t watch the American Music Awards because I can assure you nothing on that show came close to music. All “music” is these days is a bunch of highly choreographed strumpets and girly men…like Adam Lambert…trying to outshock the other acts. No music, just wiggling. Again, AWD doesn’t have a problem with Lambert putting another homo’s face into his crotch…it’s his bidness but it shouldn’t be on national television. Therein lies the problem. I’m sure there were impressionable “utes” watching that now may think it’s acceptable for boys to put other boy’s faces into their crotches. The only time that should occur is when putting an opponent in the piledriver and slamming his head to the canvas. But even the piledriver has been outlawed by WWE…so there’s really no reason to do it at all. Unless the referee isn’t looking.
So the mainstreaming of homosexuality continues! AWD is not a Puritan but believes common decency should abide on television..for people of all sexualities and nationalities. Anyway, open post time. You can sound off about this Lambert kid or the sad state of music these days. Or something political. Or 9mm vs. .45 ACP…which is no argument at all. .45 bay-bah!

Don’t watch that stuff and walk away from the water cooler at work when someone starts talking about that crap. That includes reality tv shows too. Why is it that faggots and dikes have to go all out with their PDA? Heterosexuals don’t normally do it. As far as the 9 vs 45 debate, I think both gets the job done. Personally, I went with the 40sw when I picked out my XD Service.
Twodogs, I have a Glock .40 and a Springfield .45…I’m comfortable with both but can shoot the daylights out with my Glock for some reason. I don’t think I’d have a 9mm.

My carry of choice is a S&W Sigma .40, I gave up 9mm for it… can’t figure out why but with the .40 I can totally hit what I aim at. I seem to want to “help” the 9mm.
And I prefer the no frills and no safety catches to fumble with approach to my Sigma… I figure if I’m pointing it and pulling the trigger, then I damn well intend to.
My next purchase will be something in .45 acp, or a good wheel gun….decisions decisions.

It’s getting increasingly difficult to keep our children from being exposed to this crap. Honkin,If you desire a wheel gun with a “no frills approach”,may I recommend a Colt SAA in .45LC (Long Colt)?
I carry this time tested,American classic as my primary sidearm in a 4 3/4″ inch barrel.
Many,in this day and age,snicker at my choice(and even I wonder about it sometimes..hehe!)
BUT..
When you only have five(for safety)255 gr. cartridges(Damn!..that will leave a mark)at your disposal,you learn very quickly the value of accuracy and keeping a level head. To say nothing of knowing my “lightening quick” reload time..hehe!
I carry several different holdouts,depending on my mood and situation,and my coach gun is never too far away(truck or home)just in case.
As for intent,the drawing of the hammer leaves no doubts about intent.

If you don’t buy your carry ammo at walmart and use quality defense ammo the 9mm will do just fine. It does offer lower recoil and more capacity. If it was truly all about stopping power we all would carry .357 magnums or .357 Sigs.
AWD or anyone who can chime in, I inherited a .38 from my father but now want to get a “real” weapon. What should I get and why? Also, what for the wife?
Danny, if you’re looking for home protection get a 12 gauge shot gun. Mossberg has several inexpensive models that are good quality. If you’re looking for a carry gun, it’s really a personal matter. I carry a Glock Model 23…which is chambered in .40. It’s not too large and I can shoot the heck out of it. I am looking for a pocket gun like the .380 Kel-Tec which really can be carried in your pocket. My mother bought a small Taurus 9mm auto that was really nice.
I’m sure others will weigh in with their preferred guns and calibers…but you should just go to a good gun range and shoot several to see what you shoot best and feel most comfortable with.

I often carry my old SW Snub .38 as a holdout,it suits my purposes just fine.
As for what “real” firearms would suit you well..asking that question here,is akin to opening Pandora’s box.
I will share my bias..er..opinion. Hehe!
I prefer jam free,simple to operate,easy to clean and inexpensive to repair firearms.
For example:Single or double action revolvers,double barrel shotguns,lever or single shot rifles and first generation semi-autos such as the Colt 1911.
As for calibers I use: (.45 LC)(.45 ACP)(44-40)(30-30)(30-06)(12 ga.)(10 ga.)(410 ga.)(.22 of all kinds)(.38 of all kinds). These calibers fit most of my “smokewagons”.
Concerning your wife,may I recommend the “Lady Smith .38″?It is an excellent firearm and ALL the women in my family(Wife,mother and sister-in-law)carry one.
Weigh your options carefully,and do your homework,in the end only you can determine what works for you.
Dang it!…all this gun talk,has got me wantin to blow out the budget again.

HAHA…Like that Texas Ranger comment..I remember a coupla years back, some major MSM talking head idiot interviewed a Marine sniper in Iraq and she asked him what he felt when he pulled the trigger on an enemy..All he said was “recoil”..I likes me the .357 Magnum. Nice old Ruger Security Six. I’d go with an old Colt Python if I could find one reasonable. Got an old Browning Hi-Power (9mm of course)that I’ll carry time to time..weighs a ton though. And if anybody needs a low dollar defensive piece, I have a 9×18 Makarov..not the smallest or lightest but it’s surprisingly accurate and there’s probably some good defensive ammo in that caliber now…Guns I know..poofy haired butt-snorklers I don’t even wanna attempt to figure out.

I was just about to reccommend “the Judge” when I read the whole way down to your post. Great gun to carry in the car, with two #4 buck in the first two cylinders, and .45′s in the rest. No carjackings going on after you empty that into some thugs face.
It’s really light , also.
The Judge is an excellent CC, home defense or “Ranch truck” pistol(snakes)
Shoots .45 LC or .410, will definitely ruin some punks ass thugs day.

Ah guns. As a native Texan, Im genetically engineered to love guns. Glock 21SF for general usage. Its not a Kimber, but gets the job done. Also regarding some of the wheelgun discussion above, these are still a very viable option in my opinion. Put it under your pillow and you can keep in loaded forever without having to worry about changing out mags like you do with an auto. Other than that, Mossberg 500a shotgun secures the premises well. I need to get a bayonet for it though…

I thought about a glock, but the angle of the grip on the XD is more comfortable for me. The wife has her snub .38 full of rat shot. Her’s will get someone’s attention, mine will decide their fate.

My .380 came with a 8 cartridge mag, and I bought a 10 cartridge mag. You can get a little holster with a pocket for the extra mag. Bingo – 18 shots! Not that you would need that many, but you never know.
I tossed out the boob tube over thirty years ago, and haven’t looked back. TV today is like having a broken sewer main right in the middle of your living room.

As for my personal armory, that would be three 22 rifles, a 20 and 16 gauge shotgun, two 9mm, one Kel-tec .380, with a .40 cal and remington 870 express 12 gauge on my wishlist. The .380 with hollowpoint rounds will really surprise you. For such a small, easily concealed weapon, it has the power to ruin a gangbanging, carjacking punk’s day. When I got my S & W Sigma 9mm, I could have gotten a S & W Sigma .40 for the same price. I’ve kicked myself several times for not getting the .40. My (faulty?) logic when getting the the 9 was two guns, one type of ammo, since I already had a ruger 9mm which I like a lot.
Well, well, well, this seems to be good news for a change regarding the FBI and CAIR….which may end up being done away with and plenty put in prison…which is what I have wanted for years and years…they are one of our biggest enemies we have inside this country.
