ARE REPUBLICANS INEFFECTIVE ON PURPOSE?

YOU SANDBAGGING US MITCH?
Has anyone else noticed the Republicans have done next to nothing since the last election? AWD has been frustrated the Republicans in Washington seem to be going along with the DemonRat’s merry ride towards socialism. The $876 billion Stimulus Bill was the catalyst for the rapidly growing tea party movement. The Republicans did nothing even when the bill was passed without having time to read it! Congressman AWD would have been carried off the House or Senate floor in handcuffs! We are currently watching ObamaCare slither it’s way through the Senate and the Republicans seem satisfied to sit back and again do nothing. The Senate is very different from the House in there are procedural methods available to each Senator to slow down legislation. Republican Minority Leader Mitch McConnell could be arrested these days for impersonating a human being with a pulse. Republican leaders on both sides have been out-maneuvered time and time again by the Dims. Are the Republicans on the take? Are they stupid beyond description? Are they closet socialists? Or is there another possibility?
The Republican minority leadership knows it will move into the majority if ObamaCare or Cap and Trade passes. There is no other possibility for them to not make passage of these bills more time-consuming and difficult for Reid and Pelosi. Republican leadership is willing to let the DemonRats destroy the health care system and economy of the United States. This is another reason the Republican party cannot be trusted. AWD will tell you one damn thing…replacing a bunch of worthless DemonRats with a bunch of worthless RINOs does nothing for us!
Is there any wonder today’s Rassmussen poll shows the Republican party far behind a theoretical Tea Party political party? Republicans have long ago lost the support of conservatives and now strong Republican voters are starting to abandon the party’s leaders. Of course, there is and will be no Tea Party political party. Our goals are to retake the Republican party by throwing out wussypants RINOs like Michael Steele, Newt Gingrich, John McCain, Lindsey Graham, Olympia Snowe, Susan Collins, Colin Powell and many more. Is there place in the party for these moderates? Yes…in the Democratic party. Let’s be clear here…the tea party movement deals strictly on fiscal issues. We do not bring social issues into the fold as we all agree our biggest national concern is the financial stability and survival of our country.
Republicans would be wise to listen to tea party leaders. We are the future of the Republican party…whether they like it or not! But we will not look kindly on wussypants Republican leaders who have not fought the good fight…now or in the future.
Here’s the Rasmussen poll:

As I have said before: Dump ‘em all. That place is just a snake pit.
No offense intended to Snake Oiler.
More thoughts on congress being a ruling class/Politburo: They have had and will continue to have a health care system that is different and better than anyone else in the country. They will not participate in the one they are trying to force upon us. They have had and will continue to have a retirement system that is different and better than almost anyone else in the country. They reach out to buy three private style jet planes only months (maybe weeks) after excoriating presidents of the car companies. They put rules (and threats) in place that force banks to make loans which wouldn’t ordinarily be made thereby creating a crisis that is “too good to waste.” Then those very same people grandstand by slamming those very same banks. These people have no shame. Their arrogance is astounding and insulting. The RINOs just sit around and watch it all go by. Do they really not get it when they show up at the bottom of just about any poll published? I want to puke every time I hear Boener’s voice. I don’t know if he is arrogant or incompetent. Considering the end result it doesn’t matter. All of them need to go.
Dividing the Republican Party in half by instituting a “Tea Party” at the present time scares me because I am worried that it will leave us with two weak parties instead of one. I am all for starting a Conservative or Constitutional party but if we divide right now, how long will it be before we can gain control again? We need, imho, to clean house in the Republican Party and kick the RINO’s out and let whatever remains know that we will not tolerate any affection towards the Demonrats. I believe that we should find some way to institute a new party right after the 2010 elections and any politician who wants to be under that ticket will have to pledge allegiance to the Constitution. (I know that sounds like it should already happen but I have sincere doubts) We need to find some way of insuring that people will join and that the ranks will be overwhelming when the change takes place.
AWD, with all due respect to your awesome and mighty knowledge, I believe that social issues do have a proper place in a political discussion. There needs to be severe restraint placed on anti-American social issues. Muslims and Sharia law is one of the first things that comes to mind. We need to make sure our leaders recognize that Islam is a imminent threat to our way of life. And I for one believe that our country has only lasted this long solely because of the Christian foundation on which it was based. I’m not saying that I believe that you have to be a Christian to be a responsible citizen or that it is a requirement to lead this country. But you have seen how the beliefs of some of those who are in this administration are destroying America. Financial issues are in the forefront of all our minds, but in my heart I know that the downfall is due to a falling away from God.
RNRole-
When would be a good time to institute the Tea Party??
I am not arguing , I am just asking. As an older man who has been through the third party issue many times. (Almost every election since JFK.) I always see the same argument–”Now is not the time.”
Inevitably we wound up with having to choose the lesser of two evils.
It is possible that a three party system will result in the least of three evils. When and how will we know?
It is possible that now is the best time because some folks (on conservative sites),look at a third party as being a stronger more conservative arm of the Republican party.
I do not know the answer, I am just stating my observations over the years. It seems that the conservatives are the ones who want a third party. The Democrats seem quite content to watch our country turned into a socialistic nation.
I am in favor of exploring it, but I know my personality is one where, when lost, I move in one direction or another instead of sitting at the intersection waiting for divine guidance.
I’m not saying that is the best attitude, it is just the way I am.
AWD-
Your observation about the GOP moving to the forefront if Obama Care passes is most probably correct. However It will be a devastated waste land that is inherited. I question the ability to reverse the damage that will have been done. Soros, etal can and may indeed provide funding for non-citizens to buy insurance. The foothold of the illegals will continue to grow because our assistance programs will still provide a better life style for many of the world’s poor. Our school systems will be bankrupt–and on and on. I can see how some countries slip into military control. If our elected officials continue to fail to uphold our laws we are done for.
We need people in office who will make hard choices and quick choices to recover America for Americans. The financial boat is sinking and our government’s failure are letting outsiders climb into it at the expense of our citizens.
Every candidate should be grilled and forced to state their positions on cap and trade, banking (the Fed), and immigration among other issues.
I will get hisses and boos, but I am getting to the stage where I would rather live under a benevolent dictator than under a dictatorial, narcissistic ruler and his cronies as we are today.
misterbill, I will defer to your age and wisdom because I do not know the answer either. My problem is that faced with the dilema we are facing now with this current administration, I am, frankly, terrified. We are losing everything. I just cannot stand the thought that we will not take back control of the House and Senate in 2010. The is the worst I have ever seen in my 49 years. And its not over yet by a long shot. Your attitude my well be the best one, I do not know. I do know that if a new party starts, I will back it 100% because I would like to separate the RINO’s from the Republicans. Timing is the only question I have. Again, I will defer to those who have the wisdom and experience to make those decisions, you for one.
RNRNole–
You have hit on my dilemma. I believe , in spite of my fears that there are some very good conservatives in the GOP.
I am especially proud of my Rep from Georgia, Phil Gingrey. We also have Tom Price, Nathan Deal and a few others. It seems, unfortunately, that our black representatives are all liberal and support most issues that are harmful to America.
Back to the 3rd party issue–I am exactly where you are. Your wisdom and experience is a s valuable as mine. A journeyman is a journeyman, be it with 49 years or 76 years of experience.
My dilemma is, as you mention, the RINOs. I fear they will never change. Their obligations to special interests will not change. That is why I mentioned and hope that for the first time a caucus (God that scares me) can be formed within the GOP of resolute, patriotic conservatives. The near success of the independent candidate in NY 23 encourages me that some form of 3rd aprty xcan be accomplished. But from there I am stumped. I confess that I have always voted for the candidate I considered best, not just party lines.
I was so disenchanted, I quit the GOP after 40 years.
In very recent times, many of my favorite Republicans and or Independents have displayed their feet of clay—Newt, Lou Dobbs. My God, is there no one of courage and staying power any more???
I am in total agreement with you misterbill. I see some black men on the outside of politics looking for a way in that have conservative values and I would vote for them in a half a heartbeat. (LT COL West for one) But most black politicians run to the left and that confuses the cr*p out of me. The Republican Party has always worked more in favor of the black man than Demonrats. Most blacks would not agree with this because the left has brainwashed them into believing that entitlement programs are good for minorities and the truth is that entitlements have done more to destroy the black man and his family than anything else.
I also vote outside party lines if the conservative values are there. I have no loyalty to a party that shows no loyalty to me. These men should not vote for their beliefs, they should vote for the beliefs of the people they represent. It is great if their values are known and favored by the people they represent, but in the end we hire them to represent US, not themselves.
Encouraging thought, I believe we are at the threshhold of a time in which citizens are beginning to demand that our representatives stand for what they say and not blow in the wind in return for political favors.
Alas, they are still politicians.
Term limits!!!!
RocknRollnole, social issues must be kept out of the tea party movement for cohesion. If we start allowing the movement to fracture under different social issues, we lose. Right now, we have people who are for and against abortion in our ranks. My belief is if we elect fiscally responsible candidates, most times that candidate will agree with us on social issues as well.
There is strength and numbers and we are starting to see more blue dog democrats joining the tea party ranks.
AWD
I echo the sense of dilemma here—in that survey, Democrats > “Tea Party” > Republicans. A third party simply splits the conservative vote, ensuring a Democrat win.
There are a thousand things that need to be done to stop our slide toward oblivion, but IMHO, pragmatism must rule at this point so that we can ultimately implement our principles. (There is a fine line between this and RINOism, but I believe the distinction can be made.)
Bear in mind this is how the libtards have enacted their socialist takeover—piecemeal half-measures over the course of a century.
So I’m entirely with AWD on this too–keep the social issues out of the Tea Party. Like he said: we keep a clear message about fiscal sustainability and maybe even make a point about immigration and I believe there’s a better chance of winning over sensible Democrats and Independents who understand the common sense—and urgency–of that message.
Start talking abortion and gay marriage and Christianity and we muddle the message. Of course I believe these issues are vital, but we won’t even have a forum to discuss them–let alone a hope of championing them–if we don’t get the DemonRats out of the halls of power ASAP. First things first.
Misterbill, AWD and NYC, I will totally concede the point that THE primary goal would be to unite behind a conservative front and fight the “secondary” battles after winning the main prize. (the house and senate) But I guess that as a Christian, to me, some of the secondary battles, abortion and gay rights, are of extreme importance. Before all ya’ll slap me on the head and yell at me some more, I am giving you the right to call the main battle lines because I know that everybody is not dedicated to the same “religious” (I hate that word) beliefs”
That was a point that I obviously did not make as well as I intended in a earlier post, I am “beat my head on the wall” frustrated about having 2 parties fighting it out and losing the main battle. I sincerely hope we can all rally together in 2010.
I didn’t realize it until Rush pointed it out on his talk show this morning that the Republican party doesn’t really have a platform for next year’s midterms. What do they stand for anymore except just to be the royal opposition to the Demonrats. A third party is looking more and more a better choice.
RockNRolla [ps--hope you don't mind the nickname for the nickname]–I don’t disagree with you. I don’t consider those issues less important by any means–just battles that must be fought more aggressively later on out of tactical necessity.
Of course, I try to fight the good fight up here a little bit each day, one libtarded conversation at a time.
NYC, like I said, I concur on the tactical plan to fight the “small” stuff later. I just don’t want to throw the “small” stuff to far to the side, cause with me it is definately part of the war. But you and AWD and misterbill are all correct that to win the big war we don’t need to be fighting a buch of splinter battles.
You can call me anything you want as long as it gets my attention.
R&R, NYC, Mr.B & AWD:
Your dilemma does not exist. According to the Rasmussen poll, the Republicans are ALREADY a third party. A new Conservative Party would select new candidates who have not been busy groping under the next toilet stall in order to work together with DemonRats.
The answer is as clear as day: the only thing we have to fear is fear itself. Think about what our ancestors went through at Valley Forge.
This “dilemma” is a joke compared to that.
“For G-d’s sake, get a hold of yourself, man!”
As far as the republican party goes, I think they can almost sense that their asses are in the chute and they really don’t care because they get “kept” till they die,(that needs to change) thanks to the 2:30AM secret voting sessions. They are nothing more than a bunch of elite “country club” snobs that have set on their worthless asses for years as the people just keep voting them in.They have no desire to rock that boat. Throw their asses OUT!!!
Hey guys, all the more reason to fight like hell to turn the whole thing around in “010″!
We have to get rid of the RINOs and demo-RATs or we’re “toast”!
I don’t know the answers either but this country will not survive with RINO leadership and for sure not with the RATs.
I have not liked the Rethugs since Reagan,….I voted for Perot,….and later, I voted for Buchanon.
I just got home from supporting welfare.
What Republican party? Royal opposition? LOYAL opposition – loyal to the Democrats and their own wallets. Most of them haven’t thought about us (except maybe as suckers) for decades. The third party is already here. In fact, it isn’t even the third party anymore. It has already moved into second. God lifts up and pulls down the leaders of this world. It is our place to stay true to God while our hand is on the plow. Never quit plowing God’s rows. The results will be what God wants it to be. If we have worked as hard as we can within God’s purposes, and the results are something different than what we want, then tough shit for us. God still reigns. There were some faithful Jews who were swept up with everyone else when Nebuchadnezzar came around. (and yes, I had to look up Nebuchadnezzar) It is our place to work hard for good; more importantly, it is our place to stay true. If another political party blossoms from that, so be it. It may not be our work at all. Without God, we can’t; without us, God won’t.
3rd Party = Bozo wins again…..
In other words, GOP, stop working “with” demonrats and start working to crush them….that’s what we frickin want. If you can’t do that, then you will be pushed aside….and not gracefully either.
Personally I have always voted “single issue”, as in I vote for people that support the second amendment. The way I figure, if they will fight to let me have the tools I need to defend myself, even from them, then I feel that I should be able to trust them.
That being said, our senators and representative(in ND), as far as I know, support the 2nd amendment, but, they ALL voted for the health care bill. So I’m of the inkling that ALL incumbants need to go. Corruption is all through the system. I don’t know the answer.
Paradox:
I agree with everything you wrote, the GOP is an insignificant third party. The GOP has terminal RINO cancer.
It’s too late. GOP-RIP.
BigRed:
Great post, ’nuff said.
I am a Republican in my area. Just an elected committeeman. I see rhino’s and real Republicans like me argue back and forth on issues. I believe in being straight in your face politicas and if that offends anyone in my party leave. I stick by with what the party stands for however their are many that need to leave our party because they are softies. I have so many fellow Republicans that see rhino’s that are causing problems in the party but our local and state party are fighting so hard to stand against the Newt’s and other Rhino’s. And in meetings there are lots of shouting and screaming amongst each other but this years I have seen us fight hard against rhinos and liberals. My suggestion as you all well know is this, write to your local or state Officials and tell them (if you want change in the Rep. Party) to stand for what the party represents. DEMAND IT!
McConnell always has an expression like he was urinating in an alley and a cop unexpectedly shined a light on him. Fortunately, our state has two competent Senators (Coburn, Inhofe), and not one of our 77 counties voted in the majority for Obummer. The downside is that McCain would have been only marginally better. Obama will kill the country fast, like a dagger in the heart. McCain would have killed it slowly like a cancer. Just my opinion.
Snake Oiler….
…totally agree with your opinion.
To top it off, Inhofe along with Coburn are two of my favs as well…you’re lucky to have them, this whole country is as well.
