MICHAEL VICK WINS AWARD FOR COURAGE
Courage! Reminds me of the Cowardly Lion in Wizard of Oz. But in this case, we’re talking about the Cowardly Eagle Michael Vick. Vick was voted by his teammates the winner of the Ed Block Courage Award. It’s a good thing the Cowardly Lion doesn’t really exist…Vick might have him in a pit with a snarling Pit Bull!
Vick is a thug piece of trash. He comes from a thug, piece of trash family. This is no secret. He’d still be killing dogs in Virginia if he hadn’t been caught. What is surprising here is how the homies on the Eagles see Vick’s coming back to play football as courage. It’s not like he had too many other options that would pay him millions of dollars! I’m sure the Eagle’s player see Vick as a victim. In their minds, they don’t believe he did anything wrong. Vick feels the same way.
It’s getting to where I cannot watch pro sports. It is apparent most of the players are nothing but ghetto thugs and I have lost interest in how they go into spasms every time they make a tackle. I haven’t watched a NBA game since Larry Bird played. I got tired of watching tattooed morons grabbing their crotch every time they dunked the ball. It was ironic that Michael Vick got into more trouble killing dogs than if he killed people but the fact remains…he is nothing but pure ghetto trash.
An award for courage should go to someone who has fought hard to return from an injury or a player who has had a meaningful impact on their community from public service or charities. Awarding Michael Vick is an insult to anyone who truly does have courage. Just as in the OJ Simpson case, Vick’s supporters have always been black. His detractors are mostly white. Blacks will always support another black..no matter what they do. The Eagles players are mostly black and wouldn’t know honor if it bit them in their overpaid, useless asses. Signing a contract to play for millions when you can’t do anything else isn’t courage.

I don’t believe a person who thinks himself a decent sort can watch pro sports, for that matter a person who thinks of himself as a christian really cannot support pro sports.
One thing though, I always thought that at least in sports performance alone was rewarded. After the Limbough brouhaha I learned they’re just as racist as anyone else and I would bet that if a black player was against a white player of comparable abilities, the black would be chosen every time, affirmative action.
Man, I heard that. I lost interest in pro basketball first, baseball next, and finally football. College football is where it all ends for me. Do you recall when Texas signed A-Rod for a cool quarter of a billion dollars? I don’t think they ever finished out of the cellar with him on the squad. The financial insanity in pro sports is about as appalling as the players antics. Look at a typical NBA uniform. Like something Bozo the Clown wouldn’t wear to his own funeral. Baseball’s era of steroid supermen. Remember when Barry Bonds’ head got to be the size of a tub? How much of a carbon tax will Jerry Jones have to pay for the energy consumption of the $1.3 billion funhouse he constructed? It is all completely out of perspective as to it’s importance. Disgusting.
I have no interest in any sports outside college football. NOT ONE of these pro football, baseball or basketball players is worth what he is paid. There is no sport in the world that is worth as much as these players think they are worth. I know its about commercialism and the profits that the advertisers make. Its rediculus and profane is what it is. Oh, yeah, I do watch Sprint Cup racing. I love fast.
Where I used to work is typical. A lot of the guy’s were sport fans and would read the sports section of the paper at work, play fantasy football, football pots and have long discussions about sports… I just never really gave a shit. Yea, I’ve watched playoff games and superbowls mainly for the spectacle of it and the half time show, since I’m a music fan. I think I was the only one who voted for Ron Paul in 08 and when I did try to explain to them about things like Operation Northwoods, false flag operations, and the NWO they just ridiculed me. They all voted for McAmnesty or HopeNchange if they even voted at all. I don’t watch sports anymore because of the reasons you mentioned and that it’s a distraction from what we really need to be watching, our country being stolen before our eye’s.

How about some GI that volunteered for an extra tour to protect us?? How about some doctor or nurse who contribute their time to help those in need. As long as I have started this—except for Chuck Baldwin, I am not sure there are any men of the cloth who are true men of God. I know there are few in Congress who represent the will of the people.

I like Vick, don’t watch pro football anymore, but check out the playoffs if there is a good matchup. I played football through college myself so it’s the only pro sport I can stand.
I feel sorry for him having to serve jail time for fighting his own dogs. Dogs are property, they don’t have rights. The capacity for reason is what gives people rights, not having animal emotions. Unless you want to see hunting banned it’s important to understand that. It really is one of the key differences between conservatives and “liberals”. Conservatives believe reason is the source of knowledge while “liberals” believe emotion is a valid source of knowledge.
Emotion tells liberals that owning a home feels good, so they try to pass laws to provide homes for people (CRA, fannie mae, FHA, …). Reason tells conservatives that the government produces nothing, so to give wealth to one person they have to take it away from someone else first. Since civilization itself rests upon prohibitions against theft and assault, the best the government can do is protect it’s citizens from theft, and it most certainly should not participate in theft as it does now.

A comparison of Vick torturing dogs to hunting is irrational nonsense. You don’t have the legal right to torture a dog, even if he is your property. Man has the ability to reason therefore man has the obligation not to inflict un-necessary pain on animals.
On top of all that, Vick sucks as a quarterback. Always too quick to run, lousy passer. He could generate short term excitement but could never take his team all the way. Good riddance.

I have been in that situation many times. Dog fighting tortures and wounds dogs. You libertarians cannot take reason or emotion completely out of the human equation. I don’t really understand your argument. It sounds like you’re saying that since it makes you feel bad to see a wounded dog, dog fighting should be banned. Either dogs are property or they aren’t. It’s none of my business what someone else does with their property. While I don’t like to see a wounded animal either I’m still able to separate that feeling from the principle that people have property rights.
I’m not really a libertarian since I’m with Murray Rothbard that the argument for liberty can only be based on morality. Ron Paul republican would be more correct, but regardless reason can stand by itself, so I don’t really care how many people ever agree with me.

I am the provider and in my opinion the parent to my dog. I do not have children and I guess in that regard I feel like he is a kid to me. Saying that he is property makes me think of slavery. A pet is not like a car or whatever material good that comes to mind, they are living loving family members that are in many ways are much better than many people in the world. I took my dog in and did not “pay” for him. I find the selling and buying of dogs to be another lowlife human endeavor when there are so many dogs put down every year, and Vick was another getto maggot that fuels this needless killing. I was in a hotel bar recently and made a comment about Vick’s dog killing and a black man told the bar tender that he was offended. I told him that he should be offended that Vick had done what he did. I don’t think he passed it on, but it just shows how many blacks will stick up for a dirtbag like Vick because of who he is.
