MERRY CHRISTMAS!
We’ve been known to bitch and moan a little at Angry White Dude site. It’s always justified and I believe we’re always right. But tonight is a time to rejoice. As bad as things have become in our country, we as Americans always have hope for a brighter day. We also have a love for our country and a Constitution that allows us to do what we deem necessary to ensure that government answers to “we the people.” I believe we started to see that change in 2009 and have no idea of the impact we will have in 2010.
Tonight it is snowing in Dallas and very windy. A little while ago my neighbor was getting something he had hidden in my garage for his kids. It was brutally cold. It made me think back to how the men under General George Washington’s command fought and marched in the freezing weather and snow to fight for liberty. They suffered frostbite and many perished fighting for what they believed in. Most people at that time were complacent, many were loyal to King George and few supported independence. Just like today, we see many who are too damned lazy and complacent to turn off American Idol and get involved in turning this country around. 2010 may be the last opportunity for us to retake control. If Washington and his men could fight against sure annihilation against the British while starving and freezing to death, is it too much for us to get our butts into the primary and general voting booths? Is it too difficult for us to attend our school board meetings and demand our kids stop being force fed a diet of political correct BS? If we are not willing to take charge, there are others who have shown they are. We’re being ruled by them at this very moment! Do something about it in 2010!
Angry White Dude wishes everyone a very Merry Christmas. I know some of us are without work and others are hurting for money. It’s hard anymore. One of every ten of us is without work. I can’t imagine that horror. One thing I have learned in my years is family and friends are more important than treasure. Health is another thing we take for granted. Remember this, it can always be worse and there are others who are dealing with those things right now. I wish you all peace, prosperity and happiness in the coming year. Thank you for being such a large part of my life. I started this page 18 months ago thinking I’d be the only one reading it. It has been very helpful and insightful for me to express my views and receive feedback from the AWD community. Again, I thank you all.

AWD – I’m not sure how my meanderings got me to you, but I’m sure glad I found you and the rest of the folks who contribute around here. It was like when I first heard Rush (not the band this time). Here are people who are discussing issues and concepts in the way I have been thinking about them for a long time. Most of them express those thoughts in much more coherent ways than I usually would. It was like having a reunion with friends I had not yet met. Every contribution left here is a Christmas treat for me all year long. Thank you all. Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night.

AWD – I haven’t told the story of how I actually found this site. You can blame Flo for my crashing the party! One of my friends, Pope John Paul, was expressing extreme revulsion at those Progressive commercials. On a whim, I figured I might come up with some more grist for his mill. A search turned up links here to the ‘male bashing commercials’ section. I thought he was going to have some kind of seizure when he read the part about shooting her with rubber bullets until she died of pain. He hooted about that one for weeks. Anyhoo, I liked what I saw and stuck around. And now in the words of The Beatles,

It looks like we’re going to have another AWD enter the world today! The wife just called from the hospital, and they are going to go ahead and take Liam today at around 2 p.m. He was due Feb. 10th, but due to complications they have to, I guess. Hopefully all goes well!
I hope you don’t mind me giving my Twitter name out here AWD, but I can’t post to your site from my Blackberry to give you guys updates. So if anyone wants to check in on how things are going later, my username on Twitter is rob_bryant. I know it’s Christmas and most AWDs won’t be on the Internet, but you never know!

Well, I’m a day late – I am a Californian, after all!! I trust everyone had a wonderful Christmas. Glad you got snow – I’m sick to death of the stuff!! As for the government and its continuous thumbing of its nose at its citizenry – not so sure we’ll get to the voting booth in 2010. There are a few pesky executive orders floating around. Wouldn’t be surprised if The Obamanation invokes them. As with our beloved George W. Washington, we are prepared to do what is necessary to secure our freedoms as provided for under our venerable Constitution. Hope everyone else is prepared for when the sh*t hits the fan.
Rob, congratulation on a beautiful baby boy. Way to go, Misty. May God bless your family in a very special way. And thank you, AWD, for your wonderful blog. It has brought me so many hours of reading pleasure over the last 18 months. Keep up the good work. Happy New Year and much success with the Tea Party activities.
