ARE YOU AS SICK OF POLITICIANS AS I AM?
Instead of a Open Post today, I thought I’d set the topic. People, I am so sick of crooked politicians. Is there anyone who holds public office in the United States who isn’t on the take, looking for illicit sex or giving away our secrets to the Chinese? With this weeks disclosure of Governor Blago in Illinois trying to sell the vacant Senate seat to Jesse Jackson I came to the realization….I am sick to death of politicians and Washington.
There is no doubt in my mind that this current Illinois scandal goes all the way up to Obama. He has associated with too many scumbags in the past to raise him above suspicion. Of course, the regular “best defense is a strong offense” tactics made popular by the Clintoons and their “vast right wing conspiracy” will start now. No doubt that the leftwing media will soon try to move this story along to protect their leftist friends and Obama. But this goes farther than Governor Blago, Jackson and the Chicago political machine. It also includes William “Cold Cash” Jefferson, Larry “Bathroom Monitor” Craig, the Clintons, Gary Condit, Barney Fwank, Chris Dodd, Charlie Rangel, Eliot Spitzer, any number of former Illinois governors and other assorted pieces of dirt that would take all day to list. This is not a DemonRat/Republican thing. Both parties are guilty. And it is time that they are cleaned out.
Let’s face it, our elected officials see themselves above the voters. They are a privileged class. They have voted themselves ridiculous perqs. You could hear it in douche bag Harry Reid’s comments when he said that the representatives would no longer have to smell sweaty tourists with the new visitors center separating visitors from Congress. What audacity from a pathetic little man! Why did McCain run such a pitiful campaign? Because he really didn’t care if he lost! Within a few weeks, he will be back on all the Sunday talk shows criticizing conservatives and will be back in the good graces of the disgusting left wing media. He will be taking boondoggle trips all over the world at taxpayer expense. He will still live like a king! How did the worthless Bob Dole enter politics having never held a job and leave decades later a multi-millionaire? Because they protect the system and the system protects them!
I haven’t written lately about term limits but I believe that the Founding Fathers did not intend to have Robert Byrds or Ted Kennedys. They did not intend on politicians staying in office for generations. With McCain’s campaign finance laws, it is nearly impossible to get rid of the bums. The AWD calls for a groundswell at the grass root level screaming and demanding term limits. Even to the point of taking to the streets in protests. We must change the direction of our country. It is moving in the wrong direction. Atlas is shrugging and one day it will be too late to turn around!

What tweeks me about this whole thing is that they were selling off Obamas senate seat for a million… what a bunch of cheap skate bastards… that seat should go for at least 30 mil… it’s got power and PR value.
Have you thought of running for office, perhaps you might do a better job. ‘clean up the scum’ if I may be permitted your signature phrase.
I couldn’t agree more, AWD. While I often find myself in knee-jerk defense of Republican politicians, the sad truth is the dems should never have gotten this far, and it’s only because of weak Republicans that they have. A simple, bone jarring question: could you imagine our prospects now, if the Presidency had no term limits?
I am ready to join you! It is true, “public service”, if you are good at it, can make you a multi-millionare. I don’t believe that this is right, and I also think that it is enemy number one to a truly free republic and it’s viabilty. Byrd can barely f@$%^ng talk! His views and state of mind are NOT needed in this country’s decisions. Not just term limits, but almost EVERY one of our current sitting reps need to be tossed out on their greedy lawyer asses. IMHO.
AWD … you and I have had this discussion many times. The bums (lawyers) must ALL go. Turn the high-pressure fire hoses loose in the Capitol Building and all of the numerous office buildings they have built for their Empire of Corruption and CLEAN HOUSE. Get rid of ALL of them … every last one!!!
The Founding Fathers intended for this Republic to have “citizen” representation. Citizen statesmen. That is it … period. “Service” in the Congress of the United States was NEVER meant to be a “career”!!! Go and “serve” you term and go home … with the gratitude of your fellow citizens. And, another “citizen” would replace you and serve the Republic. A simple plan. Until greed for money and POWER took over.
Did the “problem” begin with FDR and his four terms and his socialistic welfare mentality? Was it then that there was the realization that groups and classes of voters could be controled with handouts and dependancy on the government. No, the wound was festering before but under FDR it became inflamed and the country and the Congress has been infected since.
The Congress should have term limits of four (4) two-years terms for the House of Representatives and two (2) four-year terms for the Senate. That is it … period. NO more!! Stagger the terms and seats so that new folks are in and old folks are out on a scheduled basis.
Clean house and make Congress a place for “public service” once again. Put an end to the career called “politician”. And, watch the level of corruption in DC change.
Think about it guys, Kahlifornia has had term limits for years and all Kahlifornia has gotten is more phucked up… sad to say, but not even I have a resolution to this problem… ‘cept maybe putting some hidden cameras in the jail cells of convicted politicians so the new guys will get the message… corruption gets you a prison rump ride.
Nope…I’m not sick of the politicians (we do have some good ones and real patriots, albeit a handful, but they can make the difference and have in the past)…I am sick of the ill-informed idiots that are allowed to vote every election, there should be some kind of a required test.
We have term limits…Our Forefathers knew what they were doing…it is the citizens that don’t…legal, and illegal…after-all, an illegal alien is going to become some critters next Prez…
I’m not one of them.
Btw AWD…like I have mentioned before…the problem that needs to be nipped in the bud is the committee Chairmanship in congress, who heads them each year…after year…after year…that is what needs to be stopped.
Oh well…whatever will be will be.
People do not rise until it really hurts them at home and in their pocket-books as a majority…the gas prices were a perfect example..(that is another long story with me) but look how soon people forget…9-11 is another perfect example…yep, people just go the dead zone…all is well for today…tomorrow is another one.
Sad…because soon, eventually, it will be far too late…and unfortunately, the majority that caused this will not look within…starting with the lead Cheer-leader, the 24/7 msms.
gun control is murder incitement, as well as treason. There is nothing wrong with the USA that would not be cured by getting rid of all the criminals. If we got rid of the criminals- can anyone name a single democrat who would be somewhere on the loose? The Great Shun: do not conduct business with democrats. No toilet repairs, no sell gasoline or heating oil to any…. they will figure out how much we cherish their presence and opinions!
Do we need politicians anymore and instead need country and state, city, county managers? Do we need more people with business backgrounds than the “I will promise you the world” politicians?
Locks, I agree, I’d rather have politicians close where I can get my hands around their throats!
