Some of you may like this idea, some of you may not. There’s a group of people who are going to start their own community somewhere in western Idaho, the exact area isn’t mentioned in the report. According to my husband, there have also been reports in some papers that the good ol’ Southern Poverty Law Center isn’t to happy with this plan…anyone surprised by that little factoid?

See what you think. – This is via CNS News:

A group of like-minded patriots, bound together by pride in American exceptionalism, plan on building an armed community to protect their liberty.

The group, named Citadel, intends to purchase 2,000 to 3,000 acres for the project in western Idaho. The community will comprise of 3,500 to 7,000 families of patriotic Americans who “voluntarily choose to live together in accordance with Thomas Jefferson’s ideal of Rightful Liberty.”

According to the Citadel website, Rightful Liberty means that “neighbors keep their noses out of other neighbors’ business, that neighbors live and let live.”

Citadel explains that residents in the community will be bound by the following:

Pride in American Exceptionalism
Our proud history of Liberty as defined by our Founding Fathers, and
Physical preparedness to survive and prevail in the face of natural catastrophes –such as Hurricanes Sandy or Katrina — or man-made catastrophes such as a power grid failure or economic collapse.

Residents should also agree that being “prepared for the emergencies of life and being proficient with the American icon of Liberty — the Rifle — are prudent measures.”

Some of the benefits of the Citadel community include a safe, well-prepared, patriotic community where children will be educated in school, not indoctrinated.

The community will be protected by a perimeter wall that will be inaccessible to “tourists.” Each neighborhood within the community will have lower walls, dividing the town into defensible sections.

The website has a link to applications where prospective residents can sign up. According to Citadel, more than 200 families have completed applications, even before any land has been purchased.

While Citadel may sound wonderful to many who are reading this, the community has posted a warning on their home page:

“Marxists, Socialists, Liberals and Establishment Republicans will likely find that life in our community is incompatible with their existing ideology and preferred lifestyles.”

Citadel says that every patriot selected to live within the community “will voluntarily agree to follow the footsteps of our Founding Fathers by swearing to one another our lives, our fortunes and our Sacred Honor to defend one another and Liberty against all enemies, foreign and domestic.”

Here’s some more information I just read about this, including the area where their location may be, as well as their plans to support their community with an arms factory. They’ve already bought 20 acres for that alone. – ‘Survivalists plan large gun-centric fortress community in Idaho

So friends…what do you think of this idea, would this be your cup of tea or not?

Fire Away – Inquiring Minds Want to Know!

  1. I believe this is the Threepers doing this. They want the American North West to be the “Citadel” for patriots. Again, I like their moxy.

    • Okay Red…I know I should look that up, but who and what are the ‘Threepers?’ I have a feeling I’ve missed that information you’ve already somewhere on a blog post too. Please fill me in somewhat if and when you get the time. 😉

    • Lol…never-mind Red, I refreshed my memory about this. 😉

Btw…you very well could be el correcto.

    • “Free States”,authors,Matt Bracken, James Wesley Rawles, and Johnstone, all have used this area in thier novels as prime freedom country.

Wait for them to be labled radicals by the leftists liberal news media reptile stinkhole just becuase they oppose der fehrer and his ultimate plans for a SOVIET AMERICA I support these kind of patriots against our dictator OBAMA

  3. Here’s much more information about this group and what their plans are, including building their own arms factory that will support their community, seems they’ve already bought 20 acres for that.

Plus, this link also gives an idea of the location too.

  4. You can bet your ass that the Feds have a “plant” in there midst!!
Ruby Ridge has not been forgotten, nor has Waco.

    • mrchuck…

Both of those places and incidents came to my mind as well. – I agree with you.

Btw…they’d better be doing everything by the book, no doubt about that.

  5. Well the blacks already have their black controlled compounds, they are called inner cities.
Why should anyone care if myself and a few fellow patriots create a little community in nowhere Idaho?

  6. Sorry slow on the follow up here. Yeah–three percent patriots (iii% patriots).

    They’re action-oriented.

  8. A good idea, but I do not think this particular guy and his plan are above board.

But, like I said, it is a great idea, or simply start us an ‘Angry White Town’ somewhere in the midwest…

  9. Bo Gritz got involved in this type of idea years ago in Northern Idaho. He now lives close to me in a little town called, Sandy Valley, NV, which in some ways has the same views, minus the security wall. Many, many, Ron Paul signs in Sandy Valley.

    • Desert Rat…

Wow…he moved from where he was in Idaho to Sandy Valley, Nevada eh? I always wondered what happened to him. His place in Id. that he tried a go at and failed was close to where my sister-in-law lives. – I also remember when Bo was a big part during the Ruby Ridge stand-off too.

      Thanks for the info.

      • B.T. I met him and worked with him on his radio show that he broadcasts from his home in Sandy Valley. He is an interesting dude, very charismatic. He use to substitute at the school I worked out in Sandy Valley. I read one of his books, very well educated and one articulate guy, he has a great radio voice. Kind of wondered if he ever blogs here, or reads AWD. I never got into political conversations with him.

        • I’ve heard him as well on radio long ago now. Have a book by him too. He is a good man indeed…I real patriot. – He was also on our local news station here via Spokane during the Ruby Ridge ordeal. – You’re lucky you’ve worked with him and met him to-boot.

        • DR-
I am back in Vegas, care to go and have lunch sometime?

If so, please send and email to AWD, so we can meet.

          Blistered, out!

  10. My kind of people. I’ve been to Idaho several times – beautiful area, especially in late Sept. with the Fall color change and friendly people always. I’ve been to Ruby Ridge, several years before the government attacked the Randy Weaver family. Sounds like very intelligent folks up there, my idea of “thoughtful moderates.” The scenery is unbeatable in Northern Idaho. Winter there would probably kill me. That’s Sarah Palin’s birthplace, another plus.

    • Beautiful falls…it’s what comes next that I dread year after year the older I get. Seems like winter is never-ending in my neck of the woods. 😉

    • Hey MM, on go in on a U-Haul with ya. Acworth is gettin way to dark for me.

      • Cinnamon Girl

Acworth. I used to live there. I used to joke that the 1988 Camaro is the Official Car of Acworth. Lots of rednecks, and not in a bad way. I really enjoyed living there a lot. I’ve actually only been gone from there since 2004 so to hear it’s getting dark is disquieting. I don’t mean to imply anything you don’t mean but really, the whole state of Georgia is browning via massive illegal Mexican “immigration”. While I don’t really see GA doing anything about it, at least Alabama is trying. However, I would never want to live in AL. Too many tornadoes, dry counties, and well, Mexicans.

        • Hello Al – time zips on by. I have seen Acworth change too, used to go to reserve meetings at Dobbins AFB. I grew up in the “vibrant inner city of Atlanta” as the great Elvis Nixon would sarcastically describe it, nice back then, not now, a lot of crime, yuppie liberals too, and now live near the Ronald Reagan Parkway, where I drive in the right lane, of course and see exactly what you say. I’ve thought about moving up to the North Georgia mountains. It was semi-rural when we moved to Gwinnett County back in 1971. I hear a lot of languages other than English spoken near here nowadays. I never experienced that in the suburbs in the 70s and 80s. A Stone Mtn., Ga. Wal-Mart worker was shot in the leg by a carjacker a couple of days ago – the same day I was in there earlier. Where we live many neighbors are from the Midwest. Recommended : Everett Music Barn in Suwanee, Ga. if you like bluegrass. It’s like Georgia used to be – nice folks, English speakers too. I worked for Eastern Airlines until it folded and miss the free trips. – great train ride, good videos to check out. Utah, Colorado and Montana : friendly folks, gorgeous scenery, been there a bunch of times, usually in late Sept. I can’t recall any rude people out there, all pleasant, relaxing trips, very cold there now.

        • You have it figured exactly. It starts to get on my nerves hearing other languages constantly.

  11. Spurwing Plover

I hope they never put Obamas image on a UHALL truck they would lose buisness

  12. BT,

You and hubby need to sign up. I’ll be your neighbor… then I can really come over for a taco dinner.

With all sincerity, and considering this piece of shit president currently occupying the White House, sign me up.

  13. Cinnamon Girl

BT, while this Citadel sounds like a good idea, it will be panned, poo-pooed and finally, penetrated, by the left as others here have already said in their comments.

And it’s too bad because if people in this country are operating 100% within the law they should be left alone. However, if this comes to fruition, watch. The laws will be changed to accommodate the others and then Citadel will be as bad as any other place. That’s our America for ya. Ruined forever, I’m afraid.

    Just FYI

    Definition of FACTOID

: an invented fact believed to be true because it appears in print

A factoid is a questionable or spurious (unverified, false, or fabricated) statement presented as a fact, but with no veracity. The word can also be used to describe a particularly insignificant or novel fact, in the absence of much relevant context.[1] The word is defined by the Compact Oxford English Dictionary as “an item of unreliable information that is repeated so often that it becomes accepted as fact”.[2]
