America is under attack. Our own government is lobbying international thugs, bullies, socialists and dictators to go against our Constitution to infringe on our second amendment rights. Arizona Congressmen Raul Grijalva, last week, sent a letter to Secretary of State Clinton to “strongly urge the United States to take a leadership role in pushing for a strong, verifiable Arms Trade Treaty.” Obama’s administration knows how difficult it would be to pass arms control domestically, so he is going through the UN. This treaty is scheduled to be signed on July 27.
Earlier this month, this group begin putting the finishing touches on the small arms treaty at the UN headquarters in New York. Never mind that this administration doesn’t have a problem handing out guns to Mexican drug cartels like they are passing out candy on halloween. They just have a problem with law abiding American citizens owning guns. They know that if they can take away our guns, they own us. They want total control over our guns and ammunition. Does everyone understand that this treaty would give an international agency a say in how we Americans can buy and sell weapons, who is authorized to have them and where we may have them? This is dangerous and I don’t like the fact that we are even discussing it with, as I mentioned earlier, thugs, bullies, socialists and dictators. Almost all arms trade is done via governments and this treaty regulates individual arms trade. This treaty sets up an international agency that will control the flow of arms for everyone, including Americans. It is a guise to control people, not guns.
Not only does Kansas Gun Girl believe that we should say hell no to this treaty, I think we should exit the United Nations entirely. We are a sovereign country that does not need the UN in our business. Our elected officials take an oath that they swear to defend the Constitution of the United States of America. If they choose to push for something that goes against this most brilliant document, they should be impeached. Period.
The U.N. Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon said, “Our common goal is clear; a robust and legally binding Arms Trade Treaty that will have a real impact on the lives of those millions of people suffering from the consequences of armed conflict, repression and armed violence,” What is this guy smoking? The human rights offenses against the citizens in countries with freedoms less than ours are horrible.
I don’t care about the opinions of those in other countries. I care about what happens here in the United States. I am angry that those elected to protect our Constitution are actively fighting to dismantle it. If this treaty is in fact signed by the President, we must storm Congress in protest and demand that it not be ratified. This is a new venue, but it is a direct and definite attack against the 2nd amendment. There are over 170 million gun owners in the United States and every single one of them needs to take action. KGG stands by what Charlton Heston, “… from my cold dead hands!”
