QUESTION OF THE DAY: DO YOU FEEL SAFE NOW?

Another day, another failure via the incompetency of the O-Team and the TSA!

See if this report leaves you feeling warm and fuzzy all over One fact is for sure, after you read about this issue, it’s just one more reason the TSA needs to go, and a private company takes over as soon as possible…the sooner the better!

Off we go into the wild blue yonder:

One week after it was reported that the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) failed 95 percent of tests involving the smuggling of firearms through airport security checkpoints, a startling bit of news reveals that dozens of employees in the airline industry were actually on the terror watchlist.

According to a Department of Homeland Security Inspector General’s report released last week, the agency’s screening system failed to flag 73 airport workers, even though they were “linked to terrorism.”

“The TSA did not identify these individuals through its vetting operations because it is not authorized to receive all terrorism-related categories under current interagency watch-listing policy,” the report said.

Fox News explains how these employees fell through the cracks:

To test the accuracy and effectiveness of TSA’s terrorism vetting procedures, the National Counterterrorism Center was asked to match more than 900,000 records of active aviation workers against its Terrorist Identities Datamart Environment database.

According to the report, the TSA had been unable to find 73 individuals ‘linked to terrorism’ because the information the TSA received from the Department of Homeland Security Watchlist Service and used for vetting did not contain the terrorism ‘codes’ associated with the 73 individuals. In other words, TSA did not have the entire terror watchlist.

Some parts of the IG report, including codes, were redacted.

Last week, ABC News reported on TSA security failures “at dozens of the nation’s busiest airports” which enabled “undercover investigators… to smuggle mock explosives or banned weapons through checkpoints in 95 percent of trials.”

In the wake of the report, Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson reassigned Acting TSA Administrator Melvin Carraway to the department’s Office of State and Local Law Enforcement. Acting Deputy Director Mark Hatfield will take over the TSA until a new acting administrator is appointed.

Overall, the report concluded, the vetting and re-vetting procedures that TSA used were ‘generally effective’ in identifying workers with links to terrorism. Since 2003, the agency has advised airports to deny or revoke 58 airport workers as a result of its vetting process for credential applicants and holders.

Searching everyone is a violation of the 4th Amendment. You want to search me or my property, you get a warrant first. Especially if you have this scenario of a fox guarding the henhouse!

I’ve never been on an airplane, and the last time I’ve been to an airport was before 9/11. I’d sooner drive or take a boat if I go abroad (only foreign country I’ve been to is Canada LOL).

I mean, really…all these people want to feel safe…when your number is up, it’s up, it doesn’t matter what anyone does.

Luke 12:25 says: And which of you with taking thought can add to his stature one cubit?

    • I loved flying…wouldn’t do so today, no way…no how! Sure glad I don’t live in Ak. today for this very reason.

  3. I worked on the flight line in the airline industry for 10 years (1988-98) at LAX, SDO, and MCO (L.A., San Diego, and Orlando). As a result of the crap that I saw during my time, well, let’s just say that I haven’t flown since, nor will I. While I won’t elaborate on the things I saw, I will say that this was pre-TSA, what I saw was mainly crap done by pilots, mechanics, and management.

So remember, when you fly, getting groped by incompetent government employees is the easy part, if you get on the plane, you’re lucky if the damn thing doesn’t fall out of the sky. If I have to travel any distance, if I’m not driving, I’m on a train, they’re still safer than an aircraft flying at 40,000ft.

    • JMV…

Sounds like you could write a book about it!

You think it was bad then… Most airline maintenace has been outsourced to non-union foreign mechanics residing outside of the US. They are far cheeper to employ that U.S. workers, and can be exploted even further because of lack of unionized labor outside of the country. Do you think these aircraft mechanics will apply the same care and attention to detail as the union employees they displaced? Just like the rest of U.S. infrastructure, these international corporations have decided that profit is better than safety and no longer adequately address maintenance. They will fly these things until the wings fall off, or until the FAA stops them, one model at a time (after a few of that particular model fall out of the air). Anyway I know that this site has a dim view of federal regulatory bodies, but I don’t think yall pay enough attention to the corporate greed and malfeasance that leads to regulation.

P.S. Don’t bother to respond to me, as Microsoft has blocked access to my email account due to the fact that I attempted to log on from a VPN. Unfortunately, Microsoft wanted lots of personal information to reactivate the account (substantially more than I provided when I created the account), which they say is require to valiate ownership. I provided all of the original information including account name, birthday, password, answer to secret question, etc., but it was not enough for Microsoft to etermine that the account belonged to me and I am not willing to divulge further personal information to retrieve a burner account that I create over 10 years ago. So, just through rotten fruit at me instead.

  4. Just Observant

Actually since the TSA dudes are black guys, wouldnt they be totally happy to get in to all those crevices.

    Just a thought

    • Umm…the majority of them are white. And what does race have to do with this?

      • Alexandra

Because black guys tend to think with the wrong head most of the time. They sure wouldn’t mind groping White women.

        • Still…this report has nothing to do with ‘RACE’. Plus there are plenty of white men whom love groping women too.

  5. Spurwing Plover

All of Obamas ideas are flawed allowing illegal aliens and bringing more in is treason

  6. Do I feel safe???? how safe are we really…..One never knows what is down the road…

Sooner or later ,we will be hit again by those that wish us harm…..be it ISIS types or some corrupt globalist control group…..
which brings us to trust…Do you trust our government?….to keep us safe….??
best we can do is stay aware , stay prepared for the worst and pray for the best….
    jigg

  7. Hell no…I don’t fly. If I can’t get there by car, motorcycle, train or subway it’s not worth risking my life to sit beside someone that might be offended they didn’t get a FULL can of Coke Zero just because they are a Muslim.

Speaking of Muslims the TSA failed to detect at least 73 people with links to terrorism who were hired by US airports. By law, the TSA has a “limited oversight” over the hiring process and thus “lacks assurance that it can properly vett all credential applicants ” before they are hired.

    …..Really?

So it’s not surprising to me that the Terminally Stupid Agency has people with terrorist links working for them, hell, our own government is run by over 500 KNOWN TERRORISTS!!!
