Perhaps it’s ironic that Orwell’s ‘1984’ was published 64 years ago yesterday. And it’s sickening we are ever closer to living under the tyranny that took place in the book. America is on the downside of the slippery slope to living under total control of government. And you can rest assured, Big Bro is watching you!
Personal privacy in America is over. This is a statement that should send chills to everyone who values the right of free speech, free thought, and the protections from government intrusion guaranteed in the Fourth Amendment. Actually, most other liberties found in the Bill of Rights are under attack.
Most Americans today resemble the ‘proles’ in the book 1984. They go about their daily lives, hypnotized by endless stupidity vomited out of billions of television screens, playing fantasy football with other proles in the office, or keeping track of what Kardashian is sleeping with what NBA basketball team this month. They happily quaff down their Victory Gin never bothering themselves to consider the liberties that have been taken from them by tyrannists in government and how, without great effort and possibly bloodshed, they will never be returned. Most don’t care either way. Pass the gin!
The government has bought half the proles in America through welfare, food stamps, and other rewards for their votes and disinterest in anything that could improve their worthless, miserable lives. They are much happier living off the stolen wealth of workers than they would being self-reliant.
“The choice for mankind lies between freedom and happiness and for the great bulk of mankind, happiness is better.”
Happy slaves! Welcome to America 2013!
The federal government has become so large and overpowering that it now creates and breaks any rule it sees fit. If the government wants it, the government gets it. Who’s to stop it? Congress? Yeah, right!
Orwell explains the aims of government:
The Party (government) seeks power entirely for its own sake. We are not interested in the good of others; we are interested solely in power, pure power. What pure power means you will understand presently.
If you haven’t noticed, the federal government and its unelected agencies now control everything. They can destroy anyone and anything. Their resources are unlimited. IRS, EPA, FBI, NHS, DOJ, any one of these has the power to destroy your life at the whim of just one tyrannist in government. This is not the America our Founding Fathers dreamed of. This is the nightmare world of Karl Marx!
Again, Orwell describes this future in the book 1984:
“If you want a picture of the future, imagine a boot stamping on a human face—for ever.”
Since what was once good is bad and what was bad is now good under the rules of political correctness, everything in America is turned upside down. It’s fitting that we end this post with this from 1984:
“War is peace.
Freedom is slavery.
Ignorance is strength.”
Exactly what Big Bro wants you to believe. Shortly, he will demand you believe. Ultimately, you will have to believe.
Now if you excuse me, I’m going to open another bottle of Victory Gin! Yee haw!
